Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Think of it as every star is = to two stars
Review: The Eddie Guerrero story is a surprisingly well done documentary of a 17 year veteran who dealt with the demons on the outside, and more importantly, the demons on the inside. It goes on to tell how Eddie overdosed on drugs more than once, and when he got into a near fatal car accident, only to fight back and eventually win the wwe championship in a triumphant victory.
The documentary is touching and inspiring, not to mention it is willing to throw in several funny moments and jokes that his relatives share with us. This is a great story and should be viewed by anyone who wants to know what its like for a Mexican wrestler and the different styles that the lucha libre brings to the world.

As for the extras, well, they are off the hook as well:
Disk One:

Hector, Chavo, and Mando Guerrero vs. Cactus Jack, and the Rock and Roll RPM's: Now when I say this match is old school, I mean it! Lets go back 16 years, to where even Mick Foley wasn't that well known and you have this decent six man tag team match. Eddie isn't in this, I think he is somewhere in his early teen years, but this is definately not bad of a match. Old School fans will enjoy this one. 7.5/10

Hair vs. Mask, Eddie Guerrero and Love Machine vs. Octagon and El Hijo Santo: This is another old match, 10 years ago, when masks and titles are on the line in this one. A back and forth battle, Eddie shows us how he wrestled when he was a rookie and how much he has changed nowadays. A good match. 8/10

2 out of 3 falls, Eddie Guerrero vs. Dean Malenko: Now this is probably the one match in ECW that was just the purest wrestling you will ever see. I think this was the last match these two would have in ECW. A great technical battle and should be viewed by rookie wrestlers who want a few tips. 9/10

Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Jericho: Very cool to see Jericho when he was still in WCW. A good match, some intense submission holds and lots of mat wrestling. Jericho is great and so is eddie. But why was there another ring next to the one they were using? Leave it to WCW to make things confusing. Anyway still a good match. 7.5/10

WCW Crusierweight Championship, Eddie vs. Rey Mysterio: The only good thing about WCW was the fact that they had the best crusierweights in the world. Rey and Eddie put on a fantastic show that had Rey's famous mask against Eddie's belt. A back and forth battle that had both men show off their skills. Eddie almost even ripped the mask off during the match. A great match that wont be forgotten. 9.5/10

Other extras have five short segments of Eddie and Chavo goofing off and have good times with: A woman and her baby, an old lady who needs her pool "cleaned," two preppy guys and thier hot gal pals!, two guys on the golf course, and a unfortunate man who gives them his car because he thought they were valet boys!

Plus three music videos; Finger Eleven-"One thing," Seether-"Gasoline," and Soil-"Redefine"

DISK 2:

Hair vs. Hair, Eddie vs. Chavo Jr: Now this was a very "interesting match" Chavo seemed to lose it at the end and starts to shave off his own hair and kept telling Eddie that they could be twins if he wanted. Yeah, kinda creepy. But anyway a funny match in some spots. 7.5/10

Ladder Match for the Intercontinental championship: Now this was a good ladder match between Eddie and RVD. Two ladders and a chair was used in this in some very hard hitting moves. Eddie powerbombed RVD off the ladder, RVd gave Eddie a kick which sent the chair into eddie's face. A scary moment though when Eddie fell off the ladder and almost fell on one of the legs on the floor, and when RVd lost his balance and fell as well. A great ladder match. 9/10

Triple Threat Match at Survivor series '02: A good triple threat match between the Guerreros, Benoit and Angle, and Mysterio and Edge. Second best match of that ppv that night. Eddie and Guerrero won the titles and thats where the whole LIE CHEAT STEAL motto started in my opinion. An excellent tag match, though slow in some spots. 8.5/10

US title tournament finals, Eddie vs. Benoit at Vengeance 03: A great technical battle that has Eddie up to his old tricks again. He stole and cheated his way to victory, but that is what we should expect nowadays, right? A good match. 8/10

Eddie vs. Lesnar, No Way Out 04: Finally, after five months of listening to Lesnar brag all the time, eddie finally dethrones the former youngest wwe champion ever! A match that showed the little guy can always pick up a victory if your not careful! Good match and the celebration afterwards was awsome! 10/10

The extras have: Eddie's mother has a heart attack! Confidential moments: YJ stinger commercial of eddie and the party he had. A behind the scenes shot of a low rider commercial, and several interviews with relatives. Plus a look at his match at WM 20 and how the Guerreros lie cheat steal thing got started.

Finally, this is a DVd worth your money, lots of extras and some great matches, plus a great story equals a ten star DVd!

Summary: great wwe dvd
Review: The story of eddie is very inspiring to someone who has gone through problems in life. But for those like me who have been spared from those problems it is still an amazing story that is told. I would buy the DVD for the amazing story alone

But to be nice wwe gave us some bonus matches

Mando Hector and Chavo Sr. vs. Cactus Jack and the RPM's- good match for its time, not bad **(out of 5)

Eddie and Art Barr vs.Octagon and Hilgo Flip Santoga(something like that???) great wrestling match. this is in my opinion what wrestling should be. ****

Eddie vs. Dean Malenko- 2-3 falls When you highlight this match on the extras menu then click right or left(cant remember which)
it will play you the events that took place before the match
Great great great technical bout. This is an exellant match
*****

Vs. Chavo- bad wcw match very slow to start and only picks up a bit. *1/2

vs. jerico- this was good but they could have used the two rings to do something really cool. oooo well still good match- ***

vs. rey- WOW i didnt know wcw could pull that off. Awesome move rey does and he discribes it as the thing he could never do again in the alternate commentary. ****1/2

vs. RVD ladder match- super match- but they cut out the part were the fan comes in the ring, tips over the ladder and then gets wacked in the face by eddie. Super match with some cool spots ****

vs.3-way tag team elim. i saw this on PPV. it was good and the crowd loved it. *** 1/2

vs. benoit. i also saw this on ppv. great match with a very weird ending. ****

vs. Lesner- The other match i saw on PPv. An overrated match but a must see/have for eddie fans still decent thought ***

Summary: THE EDDIE GUERRERO STORY
Review: I have watched wrestling for a pretty decent length of time. I enjoy hearing and seeing the real life instances and struggles that these guys (and ladies) endure to make their dreams come true.

Out of all the releases lately, Eddie Guerrero has one of the most emotional stories. It has some great ups, and some incredible obstacles to overcome as the downs. The documentary portion of the disc is actually better than the extras, which these days are hard to do.

After watching this story about Eddie Guerrero, you can see even now not only the legacy he feels he needs to live up to, but how every day is a struggle to stay off booze and drugs. And considering what these guys do day in and day out physically, it truly is amazing.

I never watched WCW, but I knew of Eddie Guerrero. When the Radicals showed up in the WWF, I was ecstatic. Right away I was a fan and I have been enjoying his in-ring action ever since. It's just to bad that business is the way it is and there is currently no longer a spot for Eddie as WWE champion. He is a great performer and needs to be at nothing more than the top spot. His matches lately vs. Kurt Angle are nothing short of classics and I only see more great matches from Eddie down the road.

The extras are pretty good. Not as many as I would have hoped. I always enjoy RAW's and Smackdown matches on these DVD over the PPV matches. Not everyone has every TV show on tape, but true fans usually have the PPV's on tape or own the DVD's. I enjoyed how many of the matches had alternate commentary from the performers. One of the better ones is the commentary during the Rey Mysterio match. They actually added insight to the match and reflected on their careers during that time. Another really good one was during the Eddie/Malenko match. I wish Dean were given a better chance to shine as a wrestler during his stint in the WWE.

The highlights of the extras are:

VS. Chris Jericho
VS. Rob Van Dam (Ladder Match)
VS. Rey Mysterio
Vs. Dean Malenko (Final night in ECW)

In addition to the matches the Los Guerrero skits are all here as are extra stories from the documentary are included.

If there were one complaint, it would be that there are no New Japan matches included; I felt there should have been at least one.

Overall a very good DVD collection and a great addition to your WWE catalogue, especially if you are an Eddie fan.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Could have been so much better...
Review: I suppose the four stars are a little misleading. Three of them are for the stellar matches featured on the DVD. Guerrero's always been one of my favorite performers. I only gave one star for the documentary, though.

I knew what I was getting, a 45-minute piece that was featured on UPN. People raved about it, but I figured it wasn't enough time to do justice to the man and his life story. Sadly, I was right.

If they had even spent half as much time focusing on other aspects of Guerrero's life as they did on his childhood and his personal demons, the documentary could have been excellent. I was just left with too many questions. How successful was he in Mexico and in Japan? What was his relationship like with Art Barr and how did his death affect him? Why did he have a problem with Bischoff, and did WCW's demise have anything to do with him turning to drugs and booze? And on and on. Benoit and Mysterio's DVDs did a great overall job of introducing you to both the performer and the person. Guerrero's accomplished that in some ways, but not others.

Summary: missing things from 2000 and 2001
Review: on the mick foley dvd, it showed attitude era with wwf logoes and I don't mind....being distracted a bit!

match 1 - 2/10

match 2 - 7/10 - fassed paced action

v dean malenko - 10/10 classic, this is wrestling and it's better than seeing the rock, stone cold, HHH punch x 40! suplexes, reversals, inovative moves.

v chris jericho 4/10 too many arm bar rest holds(to buy time cause they were tired...or phycology...)some good athlectic moves.

v rey mesterio - 9/10 awesome, rey never gets tiring watching him jump around the ring.

v chavo guerreo - 1.2/10

v rvd - 9/10 - the best ladder match I seen(better than rvd v jeff hardy from sum slam and raw!). as JR said you won't see a ladder match with so many chances taken or so many moves with ladder. these guys have awesome chemistry, someone shouted boooring at start of match, does he need his head checked?. I'll see if the rvd/christian match is better!(on rvd dvd)

edge/mesterio v los guerreros v kurt angle and chris benoit. - 9/10 awesome tag team title match. they should of shown the one on no mercy or smackdown instead(like people have already said). there could of been a better performance by angle, oh well....
eddie, rey and benoit hog the cool spots(in this match)! this is much better than the tag match were hhh tore his quad(may 2001).

v benoit - 8.5/10 good technical wrestling. I don't like cheating in matches. benoit v angle is better on unforgiven 2002(had simmular moves in it like the arm breaker...)

v lesnar - 2/10 - this is too long. good for big eddie fans. out of benoit, angle and eddie, angle had the best match with lesnar!(wrestle mania 03)

this is a great dvd. there should be alternative commentary on all matches dammit. I say there should of been more raw and smackdown matches cause they will be forgoten, cause you can buy all the wwe ppv matches. there should of been eddie v angle from 2002(?)and more stuff from when it was wwf(I don't care for blured logoes..).

Summary: Worth Your $20
Review: The story was very good, but at the same time all over the place. I really would have liked to have learned more about Art Barr. However is was a very touching story. I think the Extras is what made this DVD great however. All the matches were really good, and all the extras that didn't make the main story was a really nice touch. Eddie Guerrero is a class act.

Summary: Great DVD
Review: This DVD is great for me because I'm an Eddie fan. So, you know I love it. The DVD has a great half an hour or one hour documentary on Eddie's career and his life. The extras are also great and funny since it has the Lie, Cheat and Steal promos with Chavo and Eddie. The matches on the extras are great as well. Hell, the matches are mostly the reason to get this DVD.

You'll love this if your an Eddie fan. If not it's still great to own.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: More like 4 and a half stars
Review: This is a good DVD that talks about the life of Eddie Guerrero, and all the ups and downs of his career. I personally liked the documentary portion of the DVD, as it was really interesting to get the story of Eddie's amazing personal journey. The reason this does not get 5 stars is because they jumped around quite a bit. I would have liked more on the death of Art Barr, his ECW stint, some more WCW matches, and a little more depth on his WWE return in 2002.

The extras are pretty good. The Lie, Cheat, and Steal vignettes are priceless. The matches that they picked for the DVD ranged from AWA to ECW to WCW to WWE, and were all pretty good choices. What they should have done was make the documentary longer on the first disk and had 2 disks worth of extras.

Oh, and by the way, to the comment from the "one and only david" who posted a review in October of 2004, the reason that there were 2 rings during the Jericho v. Eddie Guerrero match in WCW was because that was their annual Fall Brawl show which featured the War Games match. The War Games match typically pitted 2 to 3 teams against each other inside a steel cage that was set above 2 rings. So they were not trying to confuse anybody, you just were ignorant to this fact. Would you be confused if you were watching Raw and there was a cage high above that wasn't being used in a mid card match? No, because you would assume it is there for a later match.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: CHEATING DEATH, STEALING LIFE!!
Review: This PPV is #8 on my top 130 WWE DVD's. I think it would be a good idea if you bought Benoit & Guerrero's story together.

Los Guerreros vs. Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit vs. Edge & Rey Mysterio Survivor series 2002 was a great match that Eddie & Chavo defintly cheated to win the championships.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit Vengeance 2003 was a great match that had the return of the U.S. Title. Eddie & Benoit were the perfect guys for this match. Eddie wins the U.S. Title.

Brock Lesnar vs. Eddie Guerrero No Way Out 2004 was Eddie's greatest match ever because he finally reached the top and gained the WWE Championship.

This is a great story of Eddie Guerrero and you must pick up this DVD.
