Rating: Summary: REBELLION '02---From someone who was there!!! Review: I was lucky enough to get tickets to this show and it was quite good.Certainly better than Insurrextion, mainly because this show features the Smackdown roster. WWE Rebellion took place on October 26th 2002 from the Manchester Evening News Arena.Just 6 days after No Mercy. Here is my review: -Smackdown GM Stephanie McMahon comes out and announces that as part of the trade for Big Show, she was able to bring Raw's Booker T to Rebellion. 1)Booker T VS Matt Hardy. (Mattitude v.1 comes out and gives the Bookerman a pretty good fast paced match. It lasts about 10 minutes and the crowd reaction to Booker was amazing,I was nearly deafened by someone screaming behind me.Some nice moves and near falls by both athletes and we get to see the Spinaroonie)***1/2 2)Billy Kidman & Torrie Wilson VS John Cena & Dawn Marie. (This was a short average mixed tag match showing Cena before his rapper gimmick. When Kidman and Cena are in there it's not bad but it goes down rapidly when the women are in.Torrie plants a lip lock on Kidman after the match much to every man in the world's envy)** 3)Crash VS Funaki. (This was another short match but still good to see Funaki in the ring.Crowd wasn't really into it and it felt like a Velocity match.Few bright spots but not many)**1/2 4)CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE 3 WAY ELIMINATION MATCH: Jamie Noble(c) VS Tajiri VS Rey Mysterio. (A very good match in which 2 men must be eliminated. After about 5 minutes Tajiri is eliminated and it's down to Noble and Mysterio.Tons of great moves by both but shame it wasn't a 3 way for longer. Most of Mysterio's trademark innovative moves are used here and Noble pulls off some technical wrestling of his own)**** 5)D-Von & Ron Simmons VS Big Valbowski & Chuck Palumbo. (Back to Velocity...oh I mean Rebellion. Not a great match and no reason or story for it.Valbowski was the most impressive guy in this match,he is badly underused. The other 3 were not so good and the finish was horrible.Worst match of the night)*1/2 6)KISS MY ... MATCH: Rikishi VS Albert. (This was a better match than I expected with some phsycology thrown in.Shame we saw rematches about 50 times again over the next few weeks after this show.Tazz and Michael Cole get in the ring and dance with Rikishi at the end)*** 7)WWE TAG TEAM TITLES: Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit(c) VS Eddie & Chavo Guerrero. (Easily match of the night. The Arena went nuts for Angle and Benoit got some pops too.Very good 20 minute match, typical of Smackdown.Los Guerreros were on top form and Angle and Benoit were their usual flawless self)****1/2 8)WWE CHAMPIONSHIP 2 ON 1: Brock Lesnar(c) & Paul Heyman VS Edge. (This was another top notch match.Don't worry Heyman is hardly involved at all and Brock and Edge worked very well together, especially considering they had next to no previous matches with each other. The last few minutes are really good, these 2 could have some great PPV matches in the future)***3/4 Overall this was a good show, better than the Raw brand's Insurrextion.Plus any show without JR and the King commentating is a good thing, not that I dislike them but I prefer Tazz and Cole. Despite the old 'titles never change hands on UK shows' rule this is still an enjoyable event.Buy it for Angle & Benoit's tag match, the 3 way cruiserweight match,Booker T-Matt Hardy and the WWE Title match.
Rating: Summary: Results Review: MANCHESTER, England - Oct. 26, 2002 - World Wrestling Entertainment presented one of its two annual U.K.-only Pay-Per-Views, Rebellion, tonight at the Manchester Evening News Arena. A capacity crowd of 13,416 fans attended Rebellion, paying $764, 281. Here are the results: Stephanie McMahon came out to kick off the show. She announced that the Undertaker would not be appearing due to injuries suffered at Hell in a Cell, on SmackDown! and because his wife, Sara, was due to give birth at any minute. But Stephanie said that WWE Championship would still be in the line tonight - as Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman would team up in a Handicap Match against Edge. If Edge was able to pin either man, he would win the title. Stephanie also said that, as part of her trade agreement with Eric Bischoff over the Big Show, she negotiated to have "the most entertaining Superstar on RAW" appear on this SmackDown!-only pay-per-view. With that, she brought out Booker T! Booker T defeated Matt Hardy, Version 1, with a scissors kick. After the match, he gave the people what they wanted by performing a spinneroonie. In a mixed tag team match, Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson defeated John Cena and Dawn Marie when Kidman pinned Cena with a shooting star press. After the match, Wilson planted a huge kiss on Kidman! It was then announced that the next U.K. pay-per-view, Insurrextion, will take place June 7 in Newcastle, England! Funaki pinned Crash with a rollup. In a Triple Threat Elimination Match for the Cruiserweight Championship, Jamie Noble eliminated Tajiri after a Tiger Bomb. Then Noble pinned Rey Mysterio, tying him up and using Nidia for extra leverage. After the match, Rey gave Noble and Nidia and double 619. D-Von and Ron Simmons defeated the Big Valbowski and Chuck Palumbo when D-Von rolled up Chuck, pinning him a handful of tights. In a Kiss My ... Match, Rikishi pinned Albert after a Banzai Drop. Based on the stipulation, Albert was forced to endure a Stink Face after the match. Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit retained their WWE Tag Team Championship, defeated Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero when Kurt hit Eddie with the Angle Slam. Brock Lesnar (teaming with Paul Heyman) retained his WWE Championship, defeated Edge after hitting him with a chair and then the F5.
Rating: Summary: Better then it could've been Review: Rebellion is a PPV which isn't shown in the US, but still has an uneasy air of a Smack down show it stands out because it isn't linked with the current story lines. While this all Smack down, it proves that they can have decent matches if they tried. Now on to the matches. First, an inter promotional Match. Booker T vs. Matt Hardy. I quite like this much, as it is slow but more see saw battle. It would be hard to predict a winner, and most matches should be like this. If there were more inter promotional matchs, then maybe the Brand extensions wouldn't be that bad. Next an Inter gender match Billy Kidman and Torrie Wilson vs. John Cena and Dawn Marie. This isn't a bad match but it could've been a lot better and the fact that it continued a horrible story line doesn't help. In other words skip it. Next, Crash vs. Funaki, two Smack Down superstars being brought out of the closet and the make the most of the spot light. Mostly just pin falls and reversals it is better the inter gender match. A Three way elimination Match for the Cruiser Weight title. Jamie Noble vs. Rey Mysterio Vs Tajiri. Good match, but Tajiri gets eliminated to quickly and so would have been better if he wasn't in the match. Still, a good match and better then some others on the card. A promo by Beniot and Angle is better the Tag Team match Val Venis and Chuck Palumbo vs. D-von and Ron Simmons. Just a filler match and is short. Kiss my Ass match. Rikishi vs. Ablert, ah yes Albert, who faded away before coming back as A-train. Like Crash and Funaki, he doesn't get air time and so they bring him out for this match. While it isn't the best match it is a lot better then some of the matches. Tag Team champs Angle and Beniot (champs) vs Chavo and Eddie Gurrero. Good match and the crowd behind Angle. A good match and with good participants, a lot better then what could've happened say D-von and Ron Simmons anyone. Now the main event, which is a handicap match. With Taker injured who was to take his place. Well the lucky guy was Edge, who shows us two things in this much. 1 He can be a future main event player and 2, can go the distance. Brock Lesnar is great also and he and Edge make the most by putting on the best match of the night. Paul Heyman is also in this match and is funny and is well used. DVD Extras. Quite a good offering here. Torrie Wilson in London is entertaining and John Cena is funny and shows that he has personality, something which he lacked at the time. Rebillion Recap is sad and should be skipped. The Bonus Match is a gem, with it being the European Championship match from one night only in 1997. British Bulldog vs. Shawn Michaels. A classic and a great addition. Over all the DVD can ether be brought or hired and still be enjoyed in both situations.
Rating: Summary: Awesome PPV Review: Rebellion was one of the best PPV of the year. Edge vs. Brock Lesnar match was outstanding. and Benoit and Angle vs. Los Gurreros was better than any tag team match on smackdown or on PPV in the U.S. The extras are outstanding as well. Buy this DVD or VHS now don't wait any longer.

Rating: Summary: I was there! Review: This was my first live wwe ppv and it was great. The crowd were amazing and the action was fast and exciting. The best match was the tag title match which featured Los Geurreros v Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit. Kurt was the star of rebellion he got by far the best crowd reaction. Other good matches were the cruiserweight title triple threat match and the WWE title match, which was supposed to be Brock and Paul Heyman v Edge but was basically a 1 on 1 match with a bit of interference from Heyman. Only one match was poor - Ron simmons/D'Von v Val Venis/Chuck. The screen in the arena went off just before this match and the crowd were more interested in chanting "Fix the screen" than watching the match. It was dissapointing not to see The Undertaker (the WWE's excuse was that his wife was having a baby, but she didn't actually have it until almost a month later, so thanks WWE for the honesty) but his replacement, Booker T, brought the house down. Overall, an entertaining ppv and probably the best UK event in the last 2 years. Enjoy!
