Summary: ...AND NOW TAMPA BAY RULES THE NFL!!
Review: A very easy DVD to navigate, and a totally pumping job by NFL Films music mixers(which I believe includes insertions of audio from the London Philharmonic Orchestra?)....I think I have watched the Game 11 Highlight against the Packers about ten bazillion times...(the part when Johnny Greer gets done with the replay decision until the end is the best EVER in surround sound)and even though they lost to the Saints the following week...I LOVE THE MIXDOWN TRACK AUDIO BACKGROUND!!...EXCELLENT!Yes...it's true that the "game" chopped up that was included was not the full blow entire 3 plus hour telecast...but would you rather have Madden talking about nonsense, or the crisp, concise, exited voice of the Bucs, Gene Deckerhoff calling the historic moment of the Pewter?! I highly reccommend this DVD for those that love audio/video presentations of sports...even if you are not a Bucs fan like me!

Summary: Tampa Bay "Bucs" their loser image in one amazing season!
Review: After spending nearly three decades as the NFL's poster boys for futility, and a handful of close-but-no-cigar showings in the playoffs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally put it all together with the league's top defense and took the big prize. And after their first couple of attempts to produce and release a truly comprehensive Super-Bowl-Champions-Season-Highlights DVD, NFL Films finally put it all together (for the most part) with this presentation. Not only is the Buc-backer treated to the best of each regular-season and post-season contest, NFL Films also threw in the ABC broadcast of the Super Bowl (sans the on-screen graphics and logos), a couple ESPN analysis shows, and a few other pre-game tidbits. Then there's my all-time fave upgrade: unlike past NFL Films™ videodiscs, I can fast-forward through the legal warnings and adverts that pop up at the beginning of this platter, and get right to the main event! Speakin' of the Super Bowl broadcast: just to give you fair warnin' (especially all you "I-gotta-have-the-entire-game" purists out there), not every single play has been included. A few downs, a couple of three-downs-and-out series, the last thirty seconds of the first half (mostly kneel-downs), and most of the punts and kickoffs have been excised. Also, the Tampa Bay radio broadcast (and a few bits from the Oakland station) was used for the running commentary instead of the TV announcers John Madden and Al Michaels. These revelations might be somewhat disappointing to some, but personally, I found the video quality to be more disappointing. After being treated to the reasonably sharp resolution of the season highlights presentation and the side features, the relatively low picture quality of the "complete" Super Bowl left me a bit bummed. Another bummer was seeing the footage of team owner Malcolm Glazer; man, that dude is scary-lookin'! I mean, he seems pretty good-natured and cheerful and all that, but he totally creeps me out every time I catch a glimpse of him! There's somethin' that just ain't right about that guy... On the upside, the Super Bowl broadcast does feature the Oakland Faders-- whoops, I mean the Raiders choking big time, which is always a welcome sight for me. Watchin' Oakland's starting QB (and the 2002 NFL MVP, though you'd have never guessed it after viewing this game) Rich Gannon sacked AND picked off five times (three for scores) gets me gigglin' like a little school girl every time I watch! Throw in Bucs head coach Jon Gruden (check out his hyperactive Emeril Lagasse impression on the sideline...BAM! BOOM! BAM!) helping beat his former team like a red-headed step-child, and this bad-boy's a veritable laugh riot on par with Blazing Saddles! SO put THAT in your pipe and smoke it you pathetic Fader Nation losers! Now I don't have to hear any smack about how scary-awesome the Raiders are for the next several months! And there woulda' been a lot of it where I live (S.F. bay area), had they won the big dance! So I thank you, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for helping me maintain my sanity, at least until the 2003 season commences... Although there's more than a few offensive highlights (such as Mike Alstott's "endless" run against Cleveland), it was the league's top-ranked defense that took center stage week after week during Tampa Bay's 2002 campaign. Each of NFL defensive MVP Derrick Brooks' four scores are shown here in amazing slo-mo. There's a few lowlights as well, including Tampa Bay's two disappointing setbacks against the New Orleans Saints and an ignominious defeat at the hands of the Eagles which set up a shocking conference championship upset a few months later. Especially notable was the team's first-ever victory in a sub-freezing clime against the Chicago Bears that closed out the regular season. Adding to each contest's highlight vignettes are some of the most wonderfully dramatic musical scores I've ever experienced! I especially enjoyed the pieces that set off Tampa Bay's victories against the Rams and Vikings, as well as the big conference final win. Now I'll be the first to admit the Bucs' resounding divisional playoff victory against my beloved 49ers stung pretty badly at first. But I'll take that over the BlowBoys or the Lambs-- whoops, I mean the Cowboys or the Rams doin' the job. And the conference championship in Philly was a pleasant surprise as the boys from the sunshine state stretched their cold-weather winning streak to two games. And let's not forget the topper: Stupor Bowl XXXVII as I bore witness to Oakland's top-ranked offense gettin' cut down to size like it was nobody's business, much to my endless amusement. Anyway, enough Raider-bashing; time for me to wrap things up. And I will top it all off with this: it's about freakin' time Warner Bros. started using plastic cases for their DVDs instead of those flimsy little cardboard snappers that they've always favored! Yeah, it only took 'em, what, about FIVE YEARS to finally enter the modern age of digital video technology? Next thing ya know, they're gonna try dual-layering, so I don't hafta flip the stupid disc over to watch the rest of the movie (hint, hint)! 'Late

Summary: Worth your BUCS!!
Review: All I can say about this DVD is that it is incredible! Sure, it does not have every single play from the Super Bowl, but who cares? It gives us the option of watching the videotape of the game or seeing highlights in typical NFL Films fashion! If you are a Bucs fan then this is for you! Listen to Gene Deckerhoff's radio call over the game and you will feel like you are there! The music score throughout the DVD is fantastic!Remember the music and how you felt watching Remember The Titans and The Rookie! You won't be disappointed! I can't tell you how many times I have replayed Rhonde Barber's interception from the NFC Championship game. This will not only send chills down your spine, but may also make you shed a tear or two! We have all waited a long time for the Bucs to get there and this DVD has all the essentials! The angles and shots are extraordinary! Watching Jon Gruden's enthusiasm on the sidelines, one can really feel that he was the final piece to the puzzle. I loved Dungy, but he did not have the emotion or conviction that Gruden does. The audio from the huddles, sidelines and lockerrooms is superb! Pay particular attention to Keyshawn's commentary during the Bengals game, one of the Eagles coaches staring off into oblivion as Barber races down the sideline in the "slow-motion" replay of his interception and Gruden telling Malcom Glazer "How bout that Mr. Glazer, we did it-best in the world!" "I love ya man, I can't begin to tell you how much I love ya!" Thanks to the Bucs and NFL Films! You have given me the best DVD in my library!

Summary: Good, but could have been better
Review: Bucs winning the Super Bowl. That's something I thought I'd never see. As a Bucs fan since the days of orange(since '93), it's hard to imagine that they actually did it. So many hard years of going 3-13, 4-12, etc. Barely beating teams that had only been in existence for one or two seasons, and barely beating teams that were at the bottom of the NFL. They've definitely come a long way. Going 12-4 in this magical season; and then plowing through the 49ers in the second round, surprising everyone with the shocking win in Philadelphia against the Eagles. And easily beating the favored Raiders in the Super Bowl. No other team in the NFL deserved to hold the Lombardi trophy more. It covers a short segment of each game during the season. It's your usual stuff here that's shown on ESPN during the off-season. This, as usual, is a blast to watch. Nothing like reliving the magic; the good and the bad. Then it jumps right into the playoffs and also the Super Bowl, too. Next is probably the best part: A quick version of the Super Bowl, picking only the important plays and skipping the parts in between plays. It's great for those that just want a quick view of the Super Bowl. That's where the DVD really shines, but the rest is great too. The ESPN parts are very cool. Showing their show before and after the Super Bowl. Showing why the Bucs won and why the Raiders lost. The one star off isn't really because of what's here, but of what's not here. They could have added in the scenes of the fans gathered in the stadium listening to Gruden, the players, etc. saying what they had to say. Also, I think including a seperate disc with the FULL game on it would have been one heck of a bonus. DVD quality video of the Super Bowl is something that I would have loved. There really was a lot of potential for this DVD, but a lot of stuff that I thought should have made it in didn't. It's a must have for Bucs fans, though. Do not pass it up. It's a gift that keeps on giving; sometime in the future when a new team wins the Super Bowl, you can look back on this and smile. The Bucs have won a Super Bowl, and nobody can take that away.

Review: For those of us who waited 29 years or just ONE year for this Super Bowl victory, this is a must-own DVD! Excellent coverage, well edited and entertaining. Buy it!

I also thought the mix from Tampa Radio to Oakland radio was a neat touch. The highlights portion of the DVD starts at the real beginning..the Bucs loss to Philadelphia the year before in the playoffs. All the games are highlighted and the DVD has expanded highlights and a lot of good sideline conversations in the playoffs. Remember that this is a BUCS DVD, not an NFL season review DVD. It's all Bucs and it's all great!

Review: I bought this DVD on the basis that Shania Twain performed the half time show. Even when i did a search for Shania Twain this DVD was listed - INCORRECTLY - as there is NO Shania performance on the DVD. As far as the football goes i really can not comment as i am from the UK and know nothing about American Footbal - sorry!!!

Summary: I'm a big Bucs fan!
Review: I love the content (highlights, commentary, etc.), and the bonus features. Watching the super bowl without commercials and without huddles was a bit dizzying. I wish this had been released in a widescreen version, as the 4x3 DVD's are a bit dated, and don't work well on my 57" widescreen TV. All in all, a good DVD, but it could have been better.

Summary: Description is Wrong
Review: I love the DVD as a Bucs fan but several aspects of the Editorial Review are wrong: "The 2003 release will contain an unprecedented 3 full hours of Super Bowl coverage including every series from the game as originally broadcast"-- Not true. Several "meaningless" series have been edited out of the game, the Raiders last possession of the first half is gone for example. I belive one entire Bucs series is gone as well. Also not true the "as broadcast bit". While some series are missng entire plays have been excised at various points- punt and kick returns are often gone for example. Also, you get the football [in fast forward] view of the game with all the huddling up parts gone. This isn't bad unless you wanted to hear more of the audio from the broadcast teams when they do analysis in between plays. "See every series of the game as broadcast on national TV, with AFC and NFC radio broadcast overlay" Also wrong. In addition to not being as broadcast, only the Bucs radio track is on the disk. I really wanted to hear the Raiders announcers crying over their defeat but won't get that joy. In sum, many of the features that I wnated to get aren't on this disk but, if you are a Bucs fan, it is well worth having to relive the glory of the game, albeit chopped up.
