Summary: Bora Bora Video not useful
Review: After reading all the reviews, I understand that the video was not a documentary or history of Bora Bora. However, this video does nothing. Bora Bora is beautiful, but this video sucks. B O R I N G !!!! The video will just piss you off.

Summary: Take Me There!
Review: Folks....you'll want to trust me on this! I've never seen a more beautiful production of an exotic and gorgeous locale.

The wonderful high resolution photography punched my ticket for my next escape from the everyday stresses of life. The extremely high quality audio throughout (includes natural sound of gentle breezes, waterfalls, surf, rain, thunder, etc.) coupled with superb video puts this DVD "over the top" for personal enjoyment and relaxation. If you have a good sound system hooked into your DVD player, the audio will sooth your spirit.

There is a "loop" mode available within the menu which lets this DVD relax me 24/7 should I so desire. Hey, forget Zen, forget Transcendental Meditation, forget psycho-therapy. The wonderful "white noise" of the natural sound on this DVD coupled with the beautiful video takes me to a place in my mind and spirit that I want to visit again and again.

I've bought multiple copies for family and friends. I don't want to go on this great journey alone.

By the way, I've been in television video production for 40 years....long enough, I believe, to make valid judgement about the quality of a product such as this. As I said at the beginning of this review...."trust me on this one"!

Summary: Average...not really blissfully relaxing...
Review: I bought this DVD to view on my new widescreen HD TV after reading all the reviews here. I want some nice nature, ambient DVDs to relax to or to set the mood. Where is all this hype coming from about this Bora Bora DVD? I found the camera angles poor, the clarity average, and when there was something impressive to watch, it would only last a few seconds on the screen. Further, I wasn't impressed with the sound on my 5.1 system. Compared to the WAVES virtual vacation series, this DVD is average (although I was happy that it was in 16:9 widescreen mode unlike WAVES).

Summary: Awesome if you're looking for a screen-saver experience
Review: This DVD is not a travel guide. If that's what you're looking for, look elsewhere. This DVD has no narration and no music. It is filled with smoothly scrolling views of scenes around Bora Bora, filled with natural sounds of surf, wind, and birds. The film and audio quality are spectacular.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: This is my favorite nature DVD. (I have Australian Outback, Soothing Waters-Ore. & Ca, and Best Virgin Island Beaches.) The video quality is excellent--sharp and with vivid color. The audio is very good with only sounds of nature. A few scenes have man-made structures, but they are unobtrusive. Beaches, forest plants and flowers, a small stream--all are great. My only complaint is that the DVD is only 40 minutes long. It's so good I hate to see it end.

Summary: Plug-in to Paradise
Review: This is not another travelogue. It was like going someplace beautiful and slowing down enough to just be there. What I really liked was how fresh the visuals were. The camera didn't just take you on the typical tourist trip through another tropical paradise - It explored the kind of small, quiet intimacies I've only been able to experience on travels where I've had the luxury to ease my pace and really let a place become a part of me.

Summary: Wow, You Won't Be Disappointed
Review: We were completely blown away by this DVD. We had high hopes after reading two reviews here and were not let down in any way. The visuals are outstanding (especially when viewed on an HDTV). Just absolutely beautiful.

This is not a promotional film with narration of any kind, just the wonderful images and sounds of Bora Bora.

In addition, there are great high resolution JPEG files on the DVD that you can used as a computer desktop or plugged in as a screen saver.

Highly recommended!!!
