Summary: Worth watching
Review: The video was quite interesting. I love Discovery and reading up on scientific developments but this one seems to have eluded recognition. The theories proposed are completely scientific and quash Darwinian theory (a theory which he even wrote would fail if something like this flagellum were found). These theories will probably never be taught in this manner in any science classes you could take only because science, like anything else, has its hidden agenda. As such, if you're interested in actually hearing the other side to the scientific debate (not religion vs. science, but science vs. science), and deciding for yourself what you believe, watch it.

Summary: Raises important issues
Review: This DVD raises some interesting points. The most significant thing to me was how it separates the whole issue of evolution into two questions: 1) Did life begin by chance? and 2) Has life evolved since it began? It seems pretty obvious to me that life has evolved somewhat though time, and is still evolving (e.g. microbial resistance to antibiotics, emerging viruses, insect resistance to pesticide, etc.). However, question #1 is an entirely different matter. Did the components of life arise by chance, and did the components then somehow self-assemble into viable organisms? This DVD raises some serious doubts about whether life could have begun on it's own. Having studied a little about DNA and protein synthesis, it seems unlikely to me that these building blocks could somehow arise and self-assemble, no matter how many billions of years you allow for it to happen. After seeing this DVD, open minded people will have to question the "everything occurred by chance and evolution" theory. Personally, as a Mormon, I believe God created the universe and organized life on our earth. However, I also believe He probably followed physical laws to do it, and when we know more about both science and religion, we will see then that there is really no conflict between the two. This DVD was a step in my understanding in this area. I recommend it to everyone. I do think the DVD is a little repetitive in places. The "flagellum motor" animation is repeated too many times. I would have preferred additional examples of the complexity of life. There are many more the DVD could have used. But it was still excellent.

Summary: Inspiring
Review: This film makes you want to study science. I watched as a dozen or so scholarly men, diligently pursuing knowledge and wisdom, discussed beautiful little treasures of nature, analyzed and critiqued assorted theories, and propounded and debated theories of their own. The study of science opens your mind to so many wonders--it's a lovely discipline.
This film is, also, a solid treatment of intelligent design theory (which of course means creation!). You can watch it for that with great edification and satisfaction. But it's also a great film to show little boys who are fascinated with snails, or young girls who love the symmetry of the flowers--give them the vision of what "big people" do in science, and help them retain and refine their natural wonder at creation. I think this film is a great teaching tool for this purpose.

Summary: Follow the evidence...
Review: This is a *great* presentation of the evidence for design in biochemistry--essentially the video version of Darwin's Black Box [Michael Behe] and Stephen C. Meyer's argument for design in DNA [i.e.: Science & Evidence for Design in the Universe]. Following the intellectual histories of Behe and Dean Kenyon [Professor Emeritus of Biology at San Francisco State University] UMOL offers insight into individuals in the ID movement, as well as offering a brief history of the movement itself. It also addresses critiques of ID like the "co-option objection." All the major players in the ID movement make an appearance: Dembski, Behe, Nelson, Meyer, Wells, Minnich, Kenyon and, of course the Papa of design, Phil Johnson. UMOL is especially fresh as it sticks only to the science of design. Its attitude is, "If design has religious implications, so be it. But science should follow the evidence wherever it leads." Excellent in content and cool in style.

Summary: the moment opens your eye
Review: This is an EYE-OPENING video. It shows facts and evidences to lead us thinking about the very truth behind. I understand that minds are hard to change, even evidences are so obvious (that's why some people gave this a one star!) Friend, if you love to seek and know the truth in a SCIENTIFIC way, if you're a responsible person for yourself, you should watch this video. You're the one who determins what to believe, after seeing all the evidences.

Summary: The case for Intelligent Design compellingly stated
Review: This is outstanding production that allows people who are not biological specialists to understand the technical arguments of intelligent design that are usually beyond the grasp of the laity. It features beautiful computer animations of cellular mechanics, outstanding discussions by leading scientists of the complexity of life and the problems with Darwin's theory. It does an admirable job of keeping the dialogue scientific, there is nothing religious in nature in the presentation and it is equally suitable for showing in both the Church and the public school system. The DVD offers some good bonus footage of scientists answering various questions about evolution and I.D., footage of the galapogas wildlife that Darwin encountered and list of web and book references to go to for deeper study. All in all a great video to use to make people think a second time about evolutionary theory and the argument for God by design.

Review: This is the BEST produced tool to "fix" that smart aleck college kid with when he comes home thinking he knows more than the daddy who is paying his tuition. The theory of Evolution hits a wall in the Age of Information. Watch the Temple Priests of Evolution spew venom all over this title. It's that good. I'm reminded of a verse..."I am fearfully and wonderfully made."
Darwinists fear this ...for it is wonderfully made.

Summary: Best video on Origin of Life Debate I've Seen
Review: This is the best video I've seen on OoL (Origin of Life) debate. It presents very rational arguments that I have seen no clear rebuttal for. I've read the evolutionist criticisms of this video, and they resort to ad hominem arguments (trying to discredit the video by attacking those associated with the video, rather than saying something intelligent regarding the arguments made by the video), which shows that the evolutionist camp really has nothing intelligent to say in response to these claims. Hey, evolutionists can hang their hat on the supposition that a perfectly-built Lincoln Log house was formed by dumping a can of Lincoln Logs on the floor, and it just happened to fall together properly, but an inference to a better explanation is that an intelligent being built the Lincoln Log house. Similarly, the field of molecular biology, until now steeped with evolutionary presupposition, bears hallmarks of design. The real question for evolutionists is this: "What empirical evidence do you have that life on earth was not designed?" Get ready for a treat as you watch, "Unlocking the Mystery of Life"!
