Summary: Similar to, but slightly different, from the book
Review: I'm glad that I got to see the movie adaptation of the book. I found the aftermath of the Rapture to be more personal when I saw it depicted in the movie than when I read it in the book.

The film keeps fairly faithful to the book, but there are some differences for the sake of time; for example, Hattie Durham seems to already know Buck Williams before the fateful flight over the Atlantic. I had no difficulty following the movie.

At the end of this movie, there was a word from Kirk Cameron concerning this project. He states that this was not released to theatres because the producers wanted to create a buzz so that more people would attend. This was to get Hollywood's attention that there is an audience for movies with spiritual content. I was dismayed to notice that the date for the movie release was over a year ago, and I don't recall hearing about this in theatres. I hope this doesn't mean they will cease making movies for the series.

I would highly recommend seeing this movie.

Summary: Mixed reviews
Review: As a practicing Christian with an interest in the arts as well as an open mind, I finished this movie feeling less than satisfied. The film seems limited in the time-frame it conveys, leaving the viewer wishing it would conclude the plot. The means of applying scripture to current culture was at times implausible, other times believable. Some would differ with the theology behind the movie, but probably few of those who would venture to watch it in the first place. The quality of the film's acting, scenery and overall impression were adequate, but not always excellent. I would recommend that children under 10 not view the film without parental guidance. Violence and the mature themes may set off a child prone to worry. While the endeavor was noble and serves its purpose, my favorite part of the movie was looking for relatives who served as extras. Three stars out of five.

Summary: The End Times...
Review: Based on the hugely successful "Left Behind" novel series, this movie gives us a glimpse of what life will be like for those left behind after the rapture. As with most film adaptations of books, the movie falls short of the spell-binding nature of the novels. But that doesn't mean you won't get goose bumps from watching.

I first saw this movie before I read any of the "Left Behind" books. Actually, I had no interest in reading the books before this. If the movie had not been given to me as a Christmas present, I probably would not have even seen it. But as soon as I had finished watching it, I had an urge to start reading the books. And now that I have, I do find the movie even more captivating then the first time I saw it.

Kirk Cameron stars as journalist Buck Williams. As he searches for answers into the disappearences of every child in the world, along with many adults, he finds more than he bargains for. As his friends are killed one-by-one, he seeks shelter with some new friends in Chicago, who supply him with answers to what is going on and what will happen in the time to come. But Buck doesn't accept their beliefs, which could cost him his soul.

The makers of this movie had a different marketing idea in trying to get it out to the masses. It was first released on home video for Christians to watch, and included two free movie passes for when the movie came out in theaters. The idea was to get Christians to invite their non-saved friends to see the movie. Unfortunately, the ploy was only slightly successful. But it does remain on home video, and I recommend anyone who has not seen it to get it and share it with their friends. You, and they, will be glad you did.

The DVD is also awesome, featuring a "Making-Of" Feature, a message from Kirk Cameron, two music videos, and trailers for the Cloud Ten Pictures releases "Revelation," "Tribulation," and "Judgment." A great edition to the DVD collection! Movie: A+; DVD: A+

Summary: this movie deserves 0 stars but Hattie is a hottie.
Review: This movie is horible in every way possible!!!! I expected to go to the theater and see a great movie. But it was a total waste of money. Cloud Ten Pictures could've put AT LEAST $50 mill into this movie if they wanted too but they also attempt to make at least two others movies a year. They couldn't of course just postpone all the other little movie projects they make and spend time on Left Behind but, no. To me it almost seems like Left Behind was just something they had to do and they did it in their spare time. All it did was preach to the choir, pretty much. I expected to go see a movie that would attrack the masses but in the theaters, but later i found out it hardly made anything? Why was that? well first of all In the first scene durring the air attack the effects are so funny looking I almost cried! The effects could've been supurb but they were so fake and corny looking I luaghed my head off, then almost cried becasue I was really looking forward to that scene. It was probably the most action packed scenes in the movie. The movie is VERY slow going and boring and after the air attack, it isn't exciting at all. They don't go into enough character development and speaking of the characters, most of their acting was bad. They don't even say the word JESUS once. They hardly spend any time on Carpathia which is so dissapointing I don't even want to go into it. Carpathia is supossed to be charismatic and warm hearted (as an act, he's really evil) but we only see him a few times on the news for like a minute or so. Besides the slow boring plot they changed it WAY too much from the book. I would've given this 0 stars but that's not possible and the woman who plays Hattie is a total hottie. Rayford was a fool to turn her down, but anywayz Hattie is the only reason why i gave this two stars. Don't waste your money on this.

Summary: AWESOME movie! a must-see!
Review: so what if the actors arent the 'best' or if the movie seems 'boring'? isnt the msg more important?! let's focus on what's more important for a change, instead of judging everything 'hollywood style.'

true, the actors arent the 'best.' but they fit the role, they are committed, and they have a passion for ppl to see this and realize what a time we live in.

ok, the plot didnt have much action [rayford explores christianity, buck ponders it] but the message itself is the most important part [Christ came, they were too late, but they had a second chance.]

let's not worry bout meeting hollywood standards [naked women, mutilation], let's try to understand the msg behind it!

Summary: A must see for all family members
Review: 5 stars based on the message of the movie. If you only show one movie to friends and family then this is it. The Bible opens it's pages to you to see what is going to happen VERY soon. Enjoy the movie and share the message with others. Praise the Lord for movies that help people reach out to God.

Summary: a horrid movie of Biblical proportions
Review: Left Behind is on my short list for the worst movie I have ever seen. It feels almost cruel to review it. Yet in the interests of mercy, I'll review it quickly and put it out of its misery. Why its so horrid:

The Cinematography. I have never--never encountered a movie with worse cinematography. You have a hard time making out the faces of people at a distance in this film. Even some close-ups are fuzzy. While I do not feel the Left Behind books or the movie are in any way suitable as apologetics, I know some of the folks on this project believed it could be used as one. How sad that those who would represent God would do such a poor job of movie making.

The acting. Kirk Cameron stands head and shoulders above the rest of the cast here...enough said.

The story. I have written about the Left Behind series elsewhere on Amazon. The first book was actually ok. The later ones continued to degenerate as the writing and theology got progressively worse. The movie starts out with bad screen writing and bad theology. This could have been a decent movie. But movies are usually worse than the books they are based off of.

Unless you are collecting campy movies, I can't recommend Left Behind.

Summary: GREAT MOVIE-THE RAPTURE IS COMING ANY DAY NOW!!! BE READY!
Review: This is a great movie and I love the books. For those of you who say it's all unrealistic and fake. Your gonna be up for a rude awakening. The rapture is coming the signs of the time prophesied in the Bible are coming true and happening even as we speak. It could be tonight, tomorrow, new week, or 4 years from now, who knows? Only God does of course. SO BE READY! DON'T BE LEFT BEHIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Gordon Currie As A hot AntiChrist
Review: Gordon Currie Is SOOO cute even though he plays the antichrist , Nicolae Carpathia. This is a morality movie , so Christians and non Christians alike can enjoy it. The actors and actresses alike give outstanding performances, and live up to the novel. The DVD has great special features, and you cant ask for a better one. Im sixteen, so I had to write the kiddy review, because i do not have a password
