Summary: The best movie
Review: I really want this movie Ineed this movie

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good introduction
Review: I believe this movie serves as good introduction to Islamic history of early years. There are some facts which not all Muslims would agree, but that is hair spliting. Generally speaking it well made movie. I recommend watching it strongly for both Muslim and non-Muslims.

Summary: good introduction to the Messenger
Review: Most cinematic or televised attempts to capture the life of Muhammad or other prophets of Islam are plodding in flow, because you often have supporting characters "explain" to you what the Prophet is doing off screen.

But not so this masterpiece, which has managed to embrace the Islamic ban on portraying Prophets, while still retaining the drama necessary to get the audience emotionally involved.

If you are a Muslim, this is a movie that may bring tears to your eyes, especially in seeing what the first Muslims had to endure, simply to practice what their conscience tells them is true.

My only qualm is about the DVD format. I'm not sure how the master-making process differs from other DVDs I have... but when you put this disk in the DVD player, it automatically plays the movie and only if you press for a menu, will it display the menu of chapters and extra "goodies". Usually when you put a disk in the player, it will immediately show the options menu.

I think prospective buyers should consider this aspect, if they are unsure about whether to buy the VHS or DVD version. But then again, this DVD has the extra "goodie" of a "Making of" documentary and a stills gallery which plays to the movies soundtrack.

I'm amazed at the lack of knowledge that many Muslims have of the Prophet Muhammad's life. This movie is definitely a good introduction for the short-attention spanned Muslim youth of today, before they choose to buy one of the Prophets' biographies (in book form) for deeper insight.

Summary: Love the movie but....
Review: I love the movie. I would like to agree with all of the above. But for all nonMuslims please try to read on Islamic history and religion first. The movie is not complete. Of course due to Islamic faith we Muslims cannot draw or make a movie showing Mohammad. The movie ignored people like Omar, Abu Bakr... I am sure we cannot show their faces as well. I would like to appluad Mostafa Akkad for his effort. However, a movie on such an important subject must be viewed critically. The movie could have gone deeper and concentrated on the teachings of Islam not just major battles. I still love the movie... but I would recommend the nonMuslim folks to read some literature on Islam first. Start with the Quran or Introduction to Islam...

Thank You. May Allah Bless you All.

Summary: A Superb Film of Both Sectarian and Secular Importance
Review: With a three-hour length, this film is an epic. The cinematography (which is reminiscent of David Leane), acting (Anthony Quinn leads an all-star cast), directing, production, and subject matter (the birth of Islam) make this an international and timeless classic.

If you are a student of either history or religion, or if you just enjoy a good film, I highly recommend you watch this film. If you choose to watch this important event on a television, I highly recommend you watch the DVD version as the quality of both picture and sound is superb.

Peace and Love, Reverend Vincent E. Milum, Esq.

Summary: Amazing
Review: Such an amazing movie, it is hard to believe that it has never been shown on television, even near Ramadhan and other Muslim holidays, since it would really be helpful in increasing understanding of Islam, which is usaully misunderstood.

Summary: AMAZING
Review: This is the best movie i've ever seen. It's so exciting, touching, and breath-taking. What makes it so special to me is that it describes almost step by step my religion as it goes through time, along with the life of the man i love the most, Prophet Mohammad. It makes you feel that you're in that screen, it makes you wish that you were alive and a muslem back then. I advise this movie to all muslems and whoever wants to know more about islam
