Summary: Disappointing; half-pipe and rail tricks with minimal skiing
Review: As a person who once was a very serious skier, I expected this film would be exciting. Though I left ski country years ago, I skiied seriously for years and know something about the sport. This film pales in comparison to any of the classic Greg Stump films like "Blizzard of Ahhhs", "License to Thrill" or even the amateurish "The Maltese Flamingo". I'd even rank some of the very lame Warren Miller films of the 70s and 80s ahead of this. If you are interested in a modern ski film that is exciting, check out Greg Stump's "Fistful of Moguls" or Teton Sports' "Further". Both are vastly superior to this film. The biggest problems with "Propaganda/White Knuckle Extreme" are: 1. There is very little skiing; almost all of the footage is "new style" jumps, rail tricks and half-pipe work. Of the 45-minute film, a generous estimate of the amount of off-trail skiing is that there may be two minutes of it. There is absolutely NO mogul skiing. There is one short segment of some tree skiing that is interesting, and there are several brief sequences of above timberline vertical, but these focus more on jumping tricks than on skiing. 2. The film is very short. Including the credits, the feature is less than 47 minutes in length. 3. The same footage is shamelessly recycled. Some tricks must be repeated five times, and lot of what isn't actually repetition has the "been there, done that" flavor, because all the tricks fall into a very narrow range of stunts. 4. Though the tricks are unquestionably difficult, a lot of the footage shows things that are done at very slow speed. It's hard to get excited about things that are patterned more after the latest skateboarding tricks than 90 mile per hour exploits of a downhilling Olympian. 5. This film conveys absolutely no feeling for the outdoors or the mountains. A lot of the tricks are on the bannisters of steps of buildings or otherwise involve manmade structures. Many years ago when I began to ski, the feeling of a communion with nature was the main thing about the sport. Most of the people in this film don't seem to have any interest in the outdoors. Again, the "atmosphere" for the film is that of a trip to the skatepark. 5. The soundtrack is OK, but not innovative. The film-maker wasn't able to blend the visual and audio in a way that improves the viewing expeience. I was disappointed that none of the music is fresh.
Bottom line, don't buy this. I watched it once and doubt I'll ever view the film in its entirety again, though I may watch a few of the segments. Just remembering all of the vertical that I put in at Mica Creek, BC is a better use of my time than watching this film.

Review: In this movie propaganda you witness some of the worlds best new school skiers in there amzing abilities whether you see there amazing hip jumps or incredible half pipe hits propaganda proves to be the best ski movie this year, and if that isnt enough to persaude you to buy it then hear this, witness JP Auclair complete the first ever 360 degree loop, or jon olsson set the world record with his hip jumps, or JF cussons massive 1/4 pipe hits, and C.R. Johnsons inverted 900 over a 110ft jump possibly the biggest aerial maneuver ever, and watch mike douglas take the new school to the back country, also check out highlights from the world ski invitational and last years x-games. with summer on the way putting a damper on your skiing let propaganda get you back in to the skiing mood.

Review: This was the first ski movie I've ever seen. It was also one of the best. Maybe because I'm a freeride skier. Moguls are not part of newschool anymore- blame FIS. honestly I dont know what you expected, being a newschool movie. Ignorance, lack of thought on your your part? while I'm not here to harrass you, i do think want to defend a milestone video in newschool skiing. this is quite possibly the most influencial video in recent history. the problems you had with this movie is because it is not the skiing your favorite, and its your fault that you didnt see what kind of skiing it was. dont bash such a stellar movie just cause its not your flavor

Review: Those of you lucky enough to have a copy of "13" will find this to be a good companian video. The best "extra" is the director's commentary, but the extra segments don't do much for me. This is purely a new school video as are most Poor Boyz Productions movies. A decent soundtrack done music video style with the song/artist listed at the begining of each segment.

Review: Yes, finally, the one to end all other newschool skiing movies. Propaganda... you can't have it any better. All the pro stars/heros are here showing off what they can do. The Backflip to 270 Rail by Paul Cotter is a scene to be seen. Poor Boyz Production has done it again! A great flick with sick tricks! Best of all, it has a long session of my hero Jon Olsson doing sick gaps and 900 toxic grabs in it. Best newschool skiing related flick up to date. Better than Scandalous and Ski Movie 2 : Hight Society IMO. Buy before it runs out of stock
