Summary: Disappointing and overpriced
Review: First the bad: [...] The book's pictures are in dark black and white photos that do not give a good illustration of technique. This really hurts when the pictures involve a black subject who just disappears into the background. Color pictures or better black and whites or artistic illustrations are a must to fix this book. The history of masssage section is pure filler. The DVD is even more dated and the distracting [...] excursions for no apparent reason really bugged me, man. This really could use updating to cut this nonsense out and insert better transitions. The music is odd and I'd have rather heard a sitar or something. It's not clear why the person massaging needs to be disrobed and in fact that distracts one from the objective which is to learn the proper techniques to pleasure the recipient.
Now The Good: The book instructions are representative of the actions shown in the DVD. Having a DVD demonstration of techniques really helps make sense of the text.
Conclusion: If you've already bought all the other massage books and have money to burn, or can't find another video of technique, get this set with all its flaws. [...]

Summary: ENJOYABLE. A BEST BUY!
Review: For this price, you get both the best massage book and a step-by-step video of the same practice. Very carefully done with precision and many helpful hints on massage technique. The book really does come alive when you sit back and watch the DVD. It's handy to be able to stop the motion and try something. Anyone will be able to learn massage from this combo because you can see pressures and rhythms in motion. Real massage occurs in every scene, with useful health tips. Very sensual with the right person but the technique will work in just about any setting. For example, you could use this combination as a guide for learning massage in a non-sensual setting, like, say, geriatrics. It's quite clear that almost everyone will find a level of deep appreciation here.

Review: Having owned THE NEW SENSUAL MASSAGE and enjoyed its beautiful techniques with my loved ones, I was delighted to discover this book and DVD package which makes the learning process even easier. The Art of Sensual Massage is probably the most famous massage book out there. We got it as a wedding gift and really put it to good use. What a great experience sensual massage is! This is apparently a new edition with better photos and printing. The DVD fits right in with the techniques described in the book...almost page by page. It's packaged inside the book. It's really fun to use them together. We have recommended this package to several friends and based on the enthusiastic responses, will continue to do so.
The bottom line: if you want to learn and really ENJOY massage, get this package. You won't regret it.

Review: I bought this video as a gift for my girlfriend for couple's enhancement. We both watched it and could have done just as well without any help. I wish I would have saved my money and bought a gift just for help. You can take your chances on this marginal video.

Massage is a terrifically relaxing experience and it's even more importantt because it works without drugs. This combo takes you every step of the way. I loved the way the photos in the book match up with the techniques in the DVD. You really can't miss. Much appreciated.

Summary: A Complete Body Massage with All the Trimmings
Review: Well organized, lovely to look at (classic nudity --I can see why it won awards) and comprehensive, this is a video to share with a loved one. It's more a sensual experience, than a video presentation. You can almost FEEL the strokes. The introductory material takes you through preparing a massage area from scratch (easy!), setting up some massage oil, relaxing your partner and providing soothing background stimulation like music and scent. The massage itself is presented in great detail with real expertise--and at a speed that makes it easy to learn. The people in the film are attractive and really do look like they are being massaged. You watch a real massage move over the Chest and Abdomen, Head, Arms, Hands, Front of the legs, Feet, Back of the Legs and Back. Individual strokes are shown and explained well. You really can follow along stroke by stroke, trying things as you watch. There's also lots of information about the body and the senses. The main emphasis throughout is on pleasure. You are encouraged to try what you see on the screen. There's also lots of information on the effects massage has on the body. I would recommend this video without reservation to anyone who is interested in learning how to do a sensual massage.
