Rating: Summary: A step up for beginners Review: I have a couple of Leslie's WATP DVDs and like them, but the shorter walks were too easy and the longer walks took too much time. This DVD is the perfect alternative--it lasts only 30 minutes, but you do the equaivalent of two and half miles. Even Leslie sweats--and talks about it at some length :).
PROS:
*The workout is fun! Nothing lasts long enough to be painful or boring and all the moves are very easy to do.
*Leslie isn't hawking anything for a change--no weighted balls, no belt, nothing. You don't need anything but space for this workout.
*Leslie makes a couple of minor cueing errors, but she catches herself quickly before you get confused. I don't think I've ever had a misstep following this one.
*Leslie assumes that this DVD is a step up for the viewer and constantly encourages you to take things down a notch if you feel like it. It's nice to be told it's okay to slow down and here's what to do if you can't keep up but can keep going.
*The set is nice, although a little odd--as someone else said, it looks like it is supposed to be a courtyard or walled garden. Leslie and the others are dressed in the sort of workout clothes people wear to gyms, and there are, as always in her videos, a variety of body types. No one looks intimidating. They are a quiet group, but they look like they are enjoying themselves--and they look sweaty and out of breath at points, too, which is always nice to see.
CONS:
*The stretch after the cooldown is really inadequate. Two overhead stretches do not a good stretch make.
*A music-only option would be nice. For now, I like Leslie's babble, but I think I will get really tired of being told over and over that I can take it down a notch if I want to once I've done this DVD a few more times and have the routine down.
*This DVD seems like a really rushed production. Leslie seems a little off in her patter and the DVD ends very abruptly. There is no mile meter on this one so you can watch your progress as there is on some of her WATP workouts. It's not a serious issue, but it does seem like they sort of threw this one together without a whole lot of time or production planning. It's still a good investment for the beginner who wants to step up the workout without falling all over the place or passing out halfway through :).
Rating: Summary: Walk and Jog is my favorite exercise video Review: I have alot of Leslie Sansone tapes.. from walk away the pounds series, with weighted balls and stretchy band, to sculpting videos of hers. I just purchased this Walk and Jog video of hers and have done it 3 times so far... I just love it.. It is my favorite of all her videos.. You want to sweat, then this will do it.. It gets you pumped up and rearing to go.. Its so fun to do, with different moves and everything.. I would recommend this one to anyone..
Rating: Summary: I love the Power Series! Review: I have been using Leslie's in home walking programs for almost 4 years now. I love the way we work out. I was in a bad accident and she makes the work out safe to do from your own home. It relieves my pain and makes me lose weight and feel great at the same time! This dvd goes by so fast and gives you a quick burn so you can go on with the rest of your life and enjoy the day with more energy than you could ever imagine! :)
Rating: Summary: Great workout and FUN! Review: I have never used Leslie's videos before but found I needed something after the holiday eating frenzy and miniscule workout time. I purchased my very first DVD about a week ago and from the moment I popped it into my DVD player I was hooked. I love the fact that she is a normal person and has normal looking people working out with her. I don't care for the buff looking models in other workout videos. I certainly don't look like that and probably never will. One thing I noticed was that there was one mistake she made in her workout and it was left in and not edited out. That's what made it seem so normal. I have used this DVD several times and will continue to do so. I recommend it to anyone that would like a fun workout in a short amount of time (30 mins).
Rating: Summary: Walk and Jog (this will make you sweat) Review: I just tried my walk and jog workout and really enjoyed it. This dvd was a really good workout. It offers Leslie's same great workouts but in this one she kicks it up a bit for a challange. She has Mary Kay doing the workout with no joging for those who aren't ready. The set is better than her 1 mile power walk. The music is a bit different and they don't cordinate their outfits at all. Amazons price is great, on Leslie's website she only offers this workout on video and for more money. overall I liked it and recomend it.
Rating: Summary: This will get your heart pumping & coming back for more! Review: I think Leslie is a great fitness instructor. She is good at explaining very basic moves that will give you a great work out. She is happy, bubbly, and stresses the importantance of moving your body and being healthy. Like other videos of Leslie's, I like that the people exercising in the tape are real people, they are not models. I found this very encouraging. You dont need a lot of room and you don't need any equipment. I would keep a little water by you, though, because I think this is a great, short work out!
I like using it in combination with the other two videos that come in the set ( if you are buying the complete set): Walk and Kick, Power Mile. ( Walk and Jog comes with these two)
Leslie is so encouraging. This is a good tape for someone who wants to get back into exercising or who has never had a fitness program before. I feel it is also good for someone who wants to add variety to their work out and is already in good shape. It really gets your heart beating fast and makes you sweat but its a nice short workout. I give this five stars! You will have a great time.
Rating: Summary: What a fun, fast work-out DVD! Review: I too, am a big Leslie Sansone fan. I have several other WATP DVDs and I enjoy using them. I really enjoy this DVD though because it REALLY does feel like the time flew by while I was exercising. I feel like I get a great work-out with the walk-jog combination. After a few weeks of working out with this DVD, I still can't do the "lunges" portion of the work-out---something to strive for, I guess. I am dripping with sweat when I am done with this DVD. I would consider myself to be at an "intermediate" skill level. I actually look forward to popping this DVD into the player. I feel like I get a great work-out in a quick 30 minutes.
Rating: Summary: Looking for the next step? Review: I've been doing Leslie Sansone's walking videos for the past year, and have managed to lose over 20 pounds in the process. I started with the 2-mile strength walk and incorporated the Stretchie and 3 to 8 pound dumbbells, then progressed to the 3-mile and 4-mile walks. Looking for the next step in the walking challenge, I was excited to see Leslie's new Walk and Jog video, so I immediately ordered it. What a workout! It is just the extra push that I needed in the progression of my exercise program. Whether you have a lot of room or a smaller space in which to exercise, this program offers that extra challenge to intermediate exercisers looking to progress to the advanced level.
Rating: Summary: Not as good as the originals Review: I've been using WATP dvd's for about 2 years on and off. I usually use the 3 mile walk, and find it to be a good workout that keeps the heart rate up without complicated moves and without over-doing it. I wanted something I could do in a little less time for busier days, so I bought this dvd. This dvd didn't get my heart rate going like the 3 mile does. I didn't really break a sweat...more like had a bit of a glow on my face...that's it! it wasn't challenging enough for me. I also found all the bouncing around and the attempt to "jog" in place was just stressful and painful. I'm only 21 years old so if I find this painful on the joints...I can't imagine somebody older finding it that comfortable! My advice, if you've done the walking dvd's for the 1 or 2 mile and are looking for a change and a bit more of workout, this is probably good for you. If you are new to leslie's dvd's I highly recommend trying the 3 mile walk. If you're pretty uncoordinated and like the simplicity of leslie's original videos, don't do this one. its not difficult, but it is a bit more sloppy and therefore harder to concentrate on targeting muscles, etc.
Rating: Summary: Super DVD Review: This DVD is terrific. I started working out with this DVD 3 weeks ago and its been amazing. With diet and working out with Leslie I have lost 15 pounds in just 3 weeks, its amazing. I love the DVD because it was so easy to follow and understand. I have just ordered two more of her DVD's. I am hooked!
