Rating: Summary: Not for beginners Review: I was really excited to get this DVD after reading the previous reviews but I ended up being incredibly disappointed. The sessions are hard to follow with very little instruction on the moves. There is a geometric diagram, but there is no explanation on the DVD as to how to follow it. The dance session at the end of each session is very fast and involved many more steps than is taught in the session. All in all it looks like fun for a much more experienced belly dancer and possibly someone with a dance background. And after doing the parts that I figured out, I could feel it in my abs the next day. So that was a plus, but I am going to try to find a beginners video because this isn't one.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely love it... Review: Neon delivers the best abs workout and I have fun doing it. She is very graceful, perfect cueing, awesome digital effects to show you the moves and whatnot. The exercise is broken down into 3 sequences, followed by a dance sequence/routine with each. You get a cardio workout because she does not stop and talk then move but you can follow her easily because she delivers perfect cueing through oral instruction and the special effects. I think the quality of the DVD is top notch and Neon is mesmerizing...I owned a LOT of bellydance workout and by far this one is the best! (I also purchased the Bellydance Party by Neon and it has the same top notch quality).
Rating: Summary: 48 Minutes of Sexy Moves to Tone Your Abs Review: Neon presents a challenging workout that will leave you thinking "what belly?" Your stomach will tone so fast you will wonder why you didn't take up Belly dancing sooner. Not only do you train your abdominal muscles to do advanced moves, the dance itself stimulates muscles that may not be fully appreciated during other workouts.
Andy Troy (certified strength and conditioning specialist) joins Neon on this playful workout to explain the abdominal muscles and he adds his own touches of creativity and humor while Neon dances in her creative, amazingly coordinated way. He is a personal trainer in New York City.
There are three 15-minute exercise sessions that include a 2-minute warmup, 9-minute exercise session, a 2-minute dance sequence and a 1-minute cooldown.
At times Neon appears in two sections of the screen so you can see if you are doing the moves correctly. Onscreen graphics give 3-D geometric renderings of the dance combinations. This was extremely helpful and creative. I've been enjoying Belly dance workouts for years, but this one took my exercising to a new level. Not only are the moves fast and challenging, you can see them working and even your posture will improve substantially. You will feel sexier, more confident and have a renewed appreciation for your feminine essence.
If you love belly dance, also try Ultimate Bellydance Fitness Workout. The costumes and atmosphere is especially beautiful.

Rating: Summary: Belly dance for abs: makes sense! Review: This DVD will certainly challenge your abs, plus, IMHO it deserves A+ for a very clever and effective structure of the 3 fifteen min. mini-programs it offers. I love the way each program unfolds: First you do about 8-12 reps of each move on each side, the moves are assembled into combinations, and then into a 2 minute choreography all within 15 minutes, and all the while retaining a strong focus on dance movements that make most use of abdominal muscles! Each program seems to have a totally unique set of moves (of great variety), there is no overlap with the other two. The 2 min.choreographed dance sections can be accessed from the menu. I think this adds a lot of value because it means you can use the program for more than just fitness: These are real dance choreographies. Dances #2 and #3 are drum solos, the most rhythmically driven kind of bellydance music (my favorite). The choreographies are appealing and, as in most of Neon's work, are clearly fashioned to be doable in a party/club environment. Warmup and cooldown are pretty short, you may want to do your own longer warmup, but people who are not used to structured exercise, or want to do dance fitness as part of their other routines will be happy with what Neon offers. The introduction to the anatomy of belly dance movement by personal trainer Andy Troy is great, as well as his safety tips, especially about avoiding stress on the lumbar region. I am used to more extensive cueing, but I didn't miss it in this case: Neon's vocal cues are very appropriate, plus there is a rep counter on the screen at all times showing a number of reps ahead and which rep you are currently performing, so that's really handy. As on Neon's other DVDs, geometric drawings show every movement schematically, they are absolutely amazing! For beginners, there is a lot of instructional content here, and the DVD certainly lives up to its claim of creating an abs toning program made entirely of belly dance moves. Great!
