Rating: Summary: I would rate it ZERO if I could! Review: I bought this DVD thinking that it would incorporate jazz dance moves into the routine. It does nothing of the sort. Instead, I was totally blown away at how BAD it really is. Ex-porn star Traci Lords looks hilarious doing these moves with a trying-to-look-sexy gaze. She voices over the workout, yelling really cheesy, rhyming, "cheerleader" type chants...very annoying! The music is not only 80s, like the other reviewer suggests, but reminds me of a really bad porn movie soundtrack. It got to the point where I had turn the DVD off after the first 10 minutes, I couldn't take any more! The other side was just as corny, the music being so horrible that I couldn't focus on the routine; it just wasn't enjoyable. I do not recommend this for anyone, advanced or not...there are too many bouncy, choppy movements that could injure anyone.

Rating: Summary: The good, the bad and the hilarious Review: I thought I'd had seen it all. When I saw the title "Jazzthetics" it was not a concept I'd encountered before so I thought I'd take the chance and try this new workout. New? Well, not exactly. The information on the DVD does not give any indication that this is a workout that might be based sometime in the 80s? No one on the cover even appears in the workouts and the workouts on this DVD might not be safe for beginners or intermediate. Unless you are a dancer and can handle extremely fast movements, I'd avoid this workout. In general, Jazzthetics is a grainy transfer to DVD, the instructors in the Rotation and Motivation Series do not have consistent form and while the exercises are "OK" they lack creativity. There is a "no pain/no gain" philosophy and the moves are uncomfortable and at times very awkward. The "stretching" is fast and bouncy and I don't think that is the safest way to stretch. I also didn't like the 30/35 minute programs because they were too short to really get into any fat burning situation. I basically went through the entire DVD, while skipping the cooldown segments on all but the last in order to get a workout I felt would actually burn calories and heat up my body. While this was an interesting and hilarious experience it reminded me of an 80s flashback. I spent a great deal of the time laughing while watching Side A. It would seem that Jazzthetics (complete with a woman in a yellow bikini) on this DVD would work better as a music video than a workout. Not recommended as a workout routine, but might amuse. Rating: Summary: Contains BOTH Traci Lords Videos Review: This DVD contains both the "Warm Up With Traci Lords" and "Advanced Jazzthetics" complete Traci Lords exercise videos from the 80's. There isn't much to say about the actual workout, but if you're a Traci fan, this DVD is essential.
