Summary: one of the best
Review: I've have been exercising regularly with videos since the 80s and this is one of the best I've ever used. It's short but it still leaves you feeling as if you've really worked out all parts of your body. I recommend this tape to intermediate exercisers who are looking for a tape to use when they don't have much time.

Summary: Great Workout!
Review: This tape is really great. The warm-up is fun, and the instructor goes right into the workout. It includes all the inportant lower body exercises that really work- like lunges, squats. It has a lot of upper body workouts with weights, and some of the upper body work is done while doing lower body. This is a really efficient workout for only 30 minutes. It will really work your whole body!
This video is mostly strenthening and does not have a lot of aerobics. This is a good tape if your new to strength training like I am.

Summary: What a Workout!!!!!!!
Review: Having done many many exercise videos in my life, I think that this is one of the best that I have ever done. It gets your heart pumping so you know your getting a real workout. And the energy from the instructor and the others is so excellent that it keeps you in very good spirit. At points I did have to stop but that lets you know it's working, all I had to do was jump back in. I would recommend this video to anyone, it is so great!!!!

Summary: a great (quick) workout
Review: The only complaint I have about this one is that it is a little too short. Which is no problem, I just rewind & do it again! It's nice to have a 30 minute workout on hand, though, for those times when time is short. The girl who keeps making "growling" type faces is a bit over the top.
Basically, though, a great workout wher you will work up a sweat every time, and feel it the next day. Definitely NOT for beginners.

Summary: Great circuit training video
Review: This is one of my favourite workout videos. The video runs for about 30 minutes and it is circuit training mixing some aerobic and strength training. You will break a sweat with this workout. You work all your major muscle groups. Be warned there a ton of push-ups in different variations.

Susan Hitzmann is very engaging. She is extremely motivating, energetic and friendly. Her cuing is impeccable. She is extremely good at providing instruction on proper technique during all demonstrations.

I wish she would release another workout video!

Summary: Short, but intense, and fun!
Review: This is probably the best short workout I've ever done!

I come back to this tape time and time again, especially on days when my time is limited. The moves are intense, but varied, so I am never bored, and just when I think I'm going to die from the push-ups, it's on to something else.

I am a regular exerciser (mostly cardio--aerobics, running), and wanted a tape that would give me strength work, but not take up my whole evening. This tape fits the bill, and exceeded my expectations. The moves are always challenging, and the instructor is great. She explains the moves very well and has a no-nonsense non-cutesy approach that is refreshing. I've seen a difference in my arms and butt especially (love those squats!), and have noticed more stamina when I run.

I highly recommend this tape!!

Summary: Hope, encouragement, and fun for "PE Refugees"
Review: I love aerobics the way a dog loves bones. Give me a dance-flavored cardio routine and I'll go 50-60 minutes or more. Strength training? Well. . .let's just say I have a short attention span fostered by years of uninspired gym classes taught by uninspired, unimaginative gym teachers. Forty minutes is about as long as I can go, and that includes warm-up, cool-down, and stretch. But this tape gets the job done in 30 minutes and I almost never look at the clock to see how much longer it's going to take. Even on the mornings I oversleep and am tempted to just bag the old exercise routine for the day, this tape gets me going.

For me, the drawing card of this workout is the circuit-style training Sue Hitzman leads you through. instead of spending five minutes on one body part, and then five minutes on the next, everything is mixed into 3 different 7-minute circuits. Every major muscle group gets some attention at some point--and as another reviewer said, you're often multi-tasking here, working more than one muscle group at a time. If you don't like what she's currently making you do, just get through this set and the next minute you have something different. The idea of doing three sets of pushups is much less intimidating when each set is several minutes away from the next one. If they were all together, I'd be hitting the FF button--especially since I'd just about rather eat nails than do pushups. But the way they're broken up here, it isn't worth the effort to FF ahead for 45 seconds, and guess what? If I'm going to play it through, I might as well do the darn push-ups. I don't love them, mind you. But I do them! If you ask me, they've got me figured out:)

I also love it that this routine doesn't take up a lot of space and all you need is a pair or two of dumbbells. While there may be other workouts out there that are more intense and maybe more effective, often they sit in my video cabinet undone because it's too cumbersome to haul the extra equipment in and out. (Some of the FIRM's routines come to mind here) What is it the experts say? The most effective exercise program is one that you actually DO. This one is the most user-friendly strength workout I own. Next time I go on vacation, this tape is coming with me:)

The Crunch Fitness franchise has been very successful nationally, and their tapes have sold well enough that they continue to produce new ones, but the earlier ones always turned me off because of the crazy camera work and what sounded like a pre-recorded soundtrack of people whooping. This tape is a tremendous improvement over the earlier ones. There's a lot of good-natured and genuinely fun banter between Sue Hitzman and the folks in the class with her, and that comes through when she's looking into the camera and "talking" to you, the viewer. Faith Scarinzi, who's starred in a couple of videos of her own, demonstrates lower-intensity, low-impact versions of many of the exercises here, and she's nearly always in view on camera. And while the music is not the absolute best I've ever heard on a workout tape, it's not cheesy or bad, and thank Heaven they canned the "canned whooping" track this go-around.

This is probably one of the best under-$15 workout deals around. If your life is as busy as mine--or even busier--this one almost says aloud, "Come on. . .all you need is 30 minutes and you'll feel good all day." I do. You will, too.

Summary: Fast paced basic exercise video
Review: I purchased this exercise tape looking for something more basic. Being as uncoordinated as I am, it is hard for me to keep up with the dance steps in most exercise videos. This tape was great. You use hand weights, with other toning exercises and moves at a fast pace to get your heart rate up, but not too complicated to keep up with the steps. I really liked the fact that the tape was 30 minutes long. I will be sticking with this tape and I highly recommend it.

Summary: Fun Fun Fun
Review: Great change-of-pace weight training workout. Good easier day for int/adv weight trainers (trust me, it is still not easy.) All the moves are shoe-horned into this workout in 30 minutes. You'll do squats while you are doing bicep curls. Multitasking! Three sets of push-ups, all different versions. There is some aerobic-style movements and some high impact moves (jumping jacks-squats), but you can modify. The instruction is excellent, in every way. Susan doesn't miss a beat. The background exercisers are motivating and working hard as well, which is nice to see when you are grunting it out at home. I say 'easier' day for an int/adv weight training exerciser because some of the 'multi-tasking' moves prevent you from using a heavier weight than you normally would use for the same exercise alone (for instance, and 8 lb. bicep curl becomes a 5 lb. bicep curl when you are doing sliding squats at the same time). This tape provides some cardio benefit as well. Four stars instead of five because the warm-up (about 5 minutes) is too complex in choreography for my taste. That's coming from a person who dislikes complex aerobic moves, and I suspect many people who are looking at this tape feel the same way. I still do this warm up though, it's just not my favorite warm up in the world. All in all, money well spent! I'll come back to this one again and again, for variety and fun!
