Summary: A great video if you haven't been exercising
Review: After the birth of my first child I worked out religiously, but once I hit my target size and weight I stopped. When I got pregnant again recently I was really disappointed in myself that I'd quit working out because as any pregnant woman knows, you can't leap into heavy exercise if you've been inactive. I knew I had to start exercising again because I wanted to be fit and healthy for the entire pregnancy and delivery, as well as afterwards. I looked around for a pre-natal workout and nothing really turned me on until I saw this one. I can say that after only a few workouts it's the perfect video for someone like me!

Despite chasing my toddler around all day, it still isn't really "exercise." This video is broken down into three 10-minute segments which you can do in any order you want. I prefer to do all three at once, and try to do them every other day. On my non-video days I walk because there really isn't much cardio on this video. However, that isn't a bad thing because these workouts really target certain "trouble" areas. The first segment is lower body, with things like squats (using a chair for support). The second segment is upper body, and they use filled water bottles for resistance. I prefer to use 5 lb. hand weights but it's just a personal preference. I need more weight to feel like I'm actually working my arms. The third segment is floor work, including abdominal work without actually lying on your back! The time goes by really fast, you don't feel worn out at all, and the instructor is not annoying which really is important.

The only reason I gave this video 4 stars instead of 5 was because she does not stretch you out before or after. She'll do tiny intermittent stretches between some exercises, but I believe that you need to stretch before and/or after working out, especially when pregnant and your body is more sensitive. I was hoping for some advice/suggestions on how to safely stretch while pregnant, but that wasn't a part of the video.

Overall however, if you have been inactive for a long period of time and want to get your preggo body going, this is a great way to start. It's not difficult, it targets important areas, and the instructor is great. If you're looking for something with lots of cardio however, this isn't the video to get. Remember to always talk to your doctor about starting an exercise program if you are pregnant.

Summary: Excellent workout for moms to be!
Review: This video won't by itself keep you in shape during pregnancy, but it's a BIG help. Each 10 minute workout is easy to learn, challenging and fun to do. I got up early at least 5 mornings per week starting at 4 1/2 months right up until a few days before I delivered to do at least one, if not all three, of the segments, before going to work. It was a great way to start my day.

Nancy Pop is an excellent trainer - calm and encouraging in a non-irritating way. I looked at a lot of pre-natal exercise videos before choosing this one and was not at all disappointed. I was able to go at my own pace and felt great and stronger after each workout.

While you still need to be disciplined with your diet, and walking or another form of cardio exercise is important, this video is an easy and fun way to stay in shape during this important part of your life. In the end I gained only 30 pounds, and had no trouble getting back in shape after my baby was born. I also recommend their post-natal workout video.
