Rating: Summary: decent power yoga Review: This DVD is merely okay. It is a ho-hum power yoga routine. I like that there is a class full of students demonstrating the poses at different levels. The background music is nice (chanting). I used this a fair amount when I first got it to add variety to my home yoga practice, but then found myself increasingly bothered by it.My main problem is that I find the instructor more annoying than inspiring. Other reviewers seem to really like Baron on his other DVD's, and I know he is a very well-respected and prominent teacher on the yoga scene. So maybe it is just me, or maybe just this DVD. I just found his constant running commentary (not on instructing in the poses, mind you, just his other remarks) to be excessive and distracting. His attempt at inspiration and his voice seemed Richard Simmons-esque to me.
Rating: Summary: excellent workout with an excellent teacher Review: This is one of the only yoga DVDs I have tried that is really, truly challenging. I am an intermediate level yoga practitioner, and I find most yoga DVDs and videos too easy. This one really helps me work up a sweat when I can't get to class. Baron Baptiste gives clear instruction and offers variations for less experienced yogis. I highly recommend this one.
