Rating: Summary: Great workout! Review: After my membership at a health facility expired last summer I looked for tapes which I could do at home to 'mimic' the intensity of the aerobic classes I went to. I really enjoyed step aerobics and also liked Kathy Smith; so I was happy to find this tape. Over a year later this is still my favorite step workout!! I sweat like crazy when I do this workout and it's super fun. Her 90 minute step workout is also very good. :)There are 3 segments that are about 12 minutes in length (beginner, intermediate, advanced). I usually do the whole tape which is about 50 minutes long. It is comparable to a workout you would get at the gym. There's a lot of variety in the moves which keeps it interesting. Kathy's cueing is unsurpassed! Great workout, and usually can be found at a great price too.
Rating: Summary: Tough but Excellent! Review: After reading some of the later reviews here I was a little wary about trying this video. But, unlike some of the other reviewers, I was pleasantly surprised. Granted, Kathy Smith is definitely not the best at cueing, but after you've done the video once or twice, you don't need her to cue you anyway. I am an avid stepper also, both at home and at a gym, and I did not find the routines difficult to follow in the least. The music and the setting are definitely not the best but that is not the important thing if you are using the tape to help you lose weight and feel good. After I learned the routines I just muted the sound and used my own music. The important things are there: the workout is challenging and you really sweat! However, I will say that it is defintely not a video for any beginner; whether you are a beginning-stepper or someone just beginning an aerobic workout routine.
Rating: Summary: Terrific workout!! Review: Another super video from Kathy Smith. This is a very challenging video, but is applicable to all fitness levels. I was looking for a more advanced workout, which this video is with all the "propulsion" or jumping that one can do. However, beginner or intermediate steppers can get a superb workout by either not jumping on all the jumping moves or by sticking with the designated section (ie. beginner,intermediate,advanced) until they are ready to progress. Kathy Smith offers alternate movements during the sections so that all exercisers can be accomadated. Her instruction is terrific as is her attention to detail and form. The choregraphy is great! At first I said "WHOA, this will take me a couple times to get the moves." Well it did take me a couple times before I had certain moves in the advanced section down, and I was so glad that I didn't get it right away. This meant that this video would be a challenge, and that is what I wanted. Now I know all the moves, I get a really tough, sweaty workout- and I love it! Personally I like a workout that I will really feel. I want to get the most out of my time. This video does not disappoint. I highly recommend this video for those looking for a challenging, fun, and safe workout!
Rating: Summary: Love it. Review: As a beginner, it gives me a great workout. I know it will be useful as I advance for there are different workout variations and segments. It is awesome. It was a little confusing and hard to keep up with the moves at first, but once you do it a few times and are in tune with her cues, it is great.

It really makes me sweat! She performs moves that are easy to do, but give you a great workout! If you want a really intense workout, this is the one for you!

THE NICE THING ABOUT THIS VIDEO IS THAT YOU CAN MODIFY AND STILL GET AN AWESOME WORKOUT. THE CHOREOGRAPHY IS JUST RIGHT FOR MY TASTE. FOR EXAMPLE, IT'S NOT TOO COMPLICATED AND NOT TOO EASY. I FOUND MYSELF A LITTLE LOST THE FIRST TIME I DID THE WORKOUT BUT FORTUNATELY, I CAUGHT ON VERY QUICK. Rating: Summary: Great Step Workout Review: I am an avid exerciser, doing all kinds of aerobics. Lately, stepping has been my thing. I like Kathy Smith. Unlike previous reviewers, I think she cues quite well, especially compared to Denise Austin, who rarely cues on time. This video is a great step workout. It is not for beginners. This workout really gets the heart pumping. Kathy shows you power moves you can do to increase your calorie burn, or you can choose not to do the power moves. You can choose to do all three intervals, or just do one or two. Great warm-up and cool down. I recommend this for intermediate steppers.
Rating: Summary: Very good workout. Review: I am very happy with this tape. It is a real FUN! (Yes, it is tough if you do all advanced jumps in a PROPER posture as presented). I find music to be appropriate, stimulating. The only thing I miss - ABS workout.
Rating: Summary: YIKES! Review: I have been a Kathy Smith Fan since 1989 when I purchased my first video. I use her tapes a few times a week and love them...except for this one. I purchased the tape and the accompaning step. It was a hard workout. I do not fatigue easily and have done step for years. It was too difficult to maintain a good heart rate. I had to continually stop or march in place and try and catch my breath. I finally just gave away the step and tape. ADIOS!! I wouldnt recommend this tape. I do however love her other tapes.
