Rating: Summary: Yoga Sculpt Review: Great video. Karen is an excellent instructor. This is a two-part video. Part 1 (approx 20 minutes) focuses on standing postures from yoga - you do not need any prior instruction. Part 2 (approx 20 minutes) concentrates on abdominals and back strengthening. This a good "Yoga" workout for all levels - keep in mind it is not aerobics.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: I am relatively new to yoga but am hooked and I found this video to be a great way to practice. I live in japan so I have no access to classes. I need to rely on quality videos to help me develop my yoga practice. This vidoe does just that. Karen is an excellent instructor who takes her time to explain the poses and the correct techniques. Her voice is easy to listen to and the music is soothing. The combination of poses and abs and stomach work is a great combination. This workout is challenging and will give me plenty to continue working on perfecting. I reccomend this video to anyone who wants to develop their home practice.
Rating: Summary: YogaSculpt Review: I currently have 6 Yoga related videos and I consider this video to be one of the most challenging. What I like is the combination of the body sculpting moves with the yoga positions. I think it provides more variety of exercises than a straight yoga video. Karen also is very good at providing instruction at critical times in the video to ensure a safe and focused routine.
Rating: Summary: Challenging yoga practice Review: I had read a bunch of unfavorable reviews of this video. Either it wasn't challenging enough as a sculpting workout or it wasn't meditative enough. Also, I got the feeling when reading between the lines that it wasn't exactly yoga, either. I'm pretty snobby about my yoga practice, but I'm a new Karen Voight fan and I have a lot of respect for her precise approach. I took a chance on this and I'm glad I did.The practice is about 45 minutes long and begins with a quick breathing exercise in Mountain Pose. Then she moves onto the standing series, which is about 25 minutes long. A modified Sun Salutation utilizing Awkward Chair (and no jumping), and then moving into Lunge, Warrior I, Warrior II, Right Angle and Triangle. Then to the floor for work on the abdominals and back with such yoga classics as Boat and Bridge. Throughout the practice, I was very impressed with her precise instruction and fluid movement into and out of poses. In Boat, for instance, many students flop out of the position after two or three tries. She made sure her students moved out carefully. Also, her instructions on alignment and foot position left little room for error. That is very important, particularly for the standing poses where you need to maintain just the right angle in your back leg. Finally, I loved the classical music she used for the video; it provided just the right rhythm without being too distracting. I broke a sweat during this practice even though it doesn't look that tough on preview. Because I am an advanced yoga practitioner, I was very surprised that people less advanced would feel this wasn't strenuous enough. I think the key is breathing: if you're not using deep full breaths on your inhale and exhale, you're strengthening and maybe stretching; if you incorporate the proper breathing, this is a more vigorous workout. The intensity level is somewhere between Total Yoga and Yoga Zone for Power Yoga for Flexibility and Endurance. Beginners may find this too challenging, but Intermediates and Advanced yoga practitioners should find this a good workout.

Rating: Summary: Great Instruction! Review: I had seen Ali McGraw's Yoga Video and also Brian Kest's... Karen's YogaSculpt is Superior because of her taking the time to make sure you know how to do the poses correctly. The other videos fail to do that important step. It's a great workout but also leaves you feeling relaxed and stress free. I love it!
Rating: Summary: Excellent! This is my first and probably last! Review: I have seen other videos and my wife has tried several different kinds, but this is the first "keeper" that I have seen so far. When I did it the first time I was very challenged to keep up with her, both in strecthing and endurance. After several times I could do it well enough that I kind of resembled what I saw on the tv. Now I am much better. I always feel both relaxed and engerized when I finish. I am a therapist and I recommend this video to my clients who want to work out and be relaxed, but the gym isnt an option.
Rating: Summary: Wow! Review: I love this tape! I've tried yoga before as a teen but never quite like this. This is a relaxing yet challenging 45 minute session that not only centers you & sets the pace for a more focused balanced day but it strengthens your back, abs, arms & increases your flexibility. You'll need a sticky mat & a yoga block for some of the poses but it's worth it. I never knew Yoga could feel this good or do so much. I love Karen Voight!
Rating: Summary: Great buy. Review: I spotted this video at a store .......... and being a new yoga devotee, I took a chance. Karen's moves and instructions are great...the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it's a little lengthy and the music sounds like something you'd hear at a doctor's waiting room. Still, this tape and "Crunch: The Joy of Yoga" are the only two yoga tapes left in my collection, after wasting much money and time on many others (Yoga zone, Yoga Journal, Jane Fonda's yoga, etc etc). The moves may be a little challenging until you get used to them, but give it a try!
Rating: Summary: An okay workout Review: I thought this was an okay yoga workout. I found the Brian Kest Power Yoga tapes to be a more complete satisfying workout. Not much pose variety in this one.
