Rating: Summary: Not for beginers Review: I got this video with the understanding that it will provide me with the basics of yoga, and that I will progressively become better at yoga and more comfortable practicing it. The video provides a series of on screen explanations of the basic yoga poses with a little graphic. It is very hard to read on the screen, the colot is too light, and helps very little. The video is very good for those who have been practicing yoga for a while, and have a good understanding of it. I tried all the programs contained in the video, with no success at being able to follow the motions, and very little knowledge of how to do it. I had to buy a basic yoga book to understand the yoga positions in detail. The DVD is now sitting on the shelf. I do not recommend thid DVD for beginners. This is a more advanced video.

Rating: Summary: Moves quickly....but good choice for beginniers Review: I have attended a yoga class for the past 4 weeks, I wanted to continue learning yoga at home so I search amazon, read lots of reviews and choose this dvd. I am happy with it, although the teachers move through the positions very quickly. If you don't mind missing a few positions, this would work out ok for.I found Rodney Yee easier to work with on the upper body and abs. I think this is a good choice for the beginner, review the positions prior to actually beginning the program. Try and work with the positions that are easiest for you and the others will follow soon enough.
Rating: Summary: No, not for absolute beginners Review: I have pretty good fitness training and have taken some yoga. This has been a good first DVD for me to use to complement outside instruction. The 25 minute routines are short enough to easily fit in to my day, or add on a workout that includes my stationary bike. The difficulty of the poses is not terribly high, but they aren't pedestrian, either. The pace is fairly quick, which I like. I particularly like the instructor for the Lower Body section. I like Rodney Yee, but I often find that I'm not in the mood for his ego as I choose a DVD to practice with.If you are an absolute beginner, or not comfortable with yoga, these routines will go too fast for you. For an enthusiastic novice, this DVD has been great, and has launched me to other DVDs.
Rating: Summary: Yoga or Tai Chi? Review: I just tried this DVD last night. I had the videos from before, but haven't used them for a few years. I tried the upper body workout. I'm not sure this is really for beginners as they move through the positions quickly and it makes it difficult if you aren't flexible enough to fully implement the positions. If they blast through the exercises, how does a beginner become more flexible without holding the position for more than a second? I would have preferred more info on the positions and how to prepare your body for performing them correctly and safely. The videos seemed more paced for beginners than this DVD. Almost seemed like tai chi more than yoga.

Rodney Yee's two sections can be for beginners with strong abs and upper body; Suzanne Deason section is actually for immediate yoga students that are fimilar with poses and can move fast from one pose to another with out pausing. It is very fast pace and without any holding of posture for any length of time to get the benefit of the pose.

Rating: Summary: What a workout!!! Review: I purchased this Yoga program shortly after delivering my second child. I had no idea how difficult Yoga could be! But it is in no way TOO difficult for a beginner, as some here have suggested. I started with the abs workout, in an attempt to work my way back to my pre-pregnancy shape. It is true that the instructor moves through the poses a bit quickly, but I personally could not have held the positions for even a second longer in some cases. (Perhaps this only illustrates how out-of-shape I was to begin with?) It did take a few workouts for me to really catch on, but I found this no different than any other workout video/DVD I have ever purchased.
Rating: Summary: 3 Great Workouts, but not what I was looking for Review: I really was expecting more from this DVD. I'm relatively new to Yoga, been practicing about six months. Started with the Yoga for Weight Loss DVD and I was looking for something more to supplement my practices, and I thought this would be it. Wrong, although the workouts are just what I'm looking for, the format is terrible. I really don't want three separate warm-ups and cool downs, yes you can fast forward through the annoying intros, but that gets old really fast. I was expecting a complete workout, not three separate videos rolled into one DVD. I guess I was spoiled by the Yoga for Weight Loss DVD. Guess I'll keep looking...
Rating: Summary: Yoga for beginners? Review: I took a Yoga class at my gym for about a year and a half. My mom bought this DVD for me for christmas. They change the positions to quickly, it was not relaxing at all. You are supposed to hold your position for a least a minute. You really need to be on your toes for this video so don't expect to be relaxed when it's over. I found it to be very annoying and haven't watched it since.
