Rating: Summary: Great beginning workout Review: This video is difficult enough to get your heart rate up but not a killer. Leslie Sansone is peppy but not pukey perky. The steps add some variety without being too dancy. If I'm on a big workout night, I do this one first then do a toning tape. If I can only do 30 minutes, this is a fun one to just lift your energy. It's a really good starter tape.
Rating: Summary: This is a good workout Review: I'm an intermediate exerciser and I really bought this for my mother. But what I found was you can do this workout at any level. On days where I've eaten late but still want some exercise, this would be a great video. On days where I want more intensity, I would hold hand weights and jog in place where she has you walk. It's not too long; with my work schedule I can't fit in a solid hour. This is roughly 30 minutes and just the right length.
Rating: Summary: Love this Video! Review: I really enjoyed this video. I have a six year-old daughter, and ever since she was born, I've been saying that I'm going to get back into shape. I'm not overweight or anything, just really soft after years of sedate living. I finally decided to buy this video, and I'm glad I did. One thing I really like about this video, is that Leslie and her partners don't have "impossibly perfect" bodies. I enjoy this video because it is simple, Leslie explains what she is going to do and I can actually SEE what she is doing! One thing I don't like, is that my heart rate seems to fluctuate, and in the middle it almost seems to go back to normal. I improvise, and add some extra movements during these times so that my heart rate stays higher.
Rating: Summary: My Favorite So Far Review: I was so pleased when I received this video. Having a disability for the past six yrs, and having to be home the majority of the time, I out of somewhere put on 60 lbs. I have worked up to doing her 2 miler in the morning and late or early evening. My doctor said that research has found that breaking it up into shorter segments gives you the same benefits. The tape is very upbeat, and not difficult to follow. Leslie is very supportive throughout the tape. I was so pleased with this one, I wanted a 4 Miler, but was disappointed she did tried to do it with the woman who is CEO for Weight Watchers. I would personally not recommend this to anyone, except I will be selling it at a good price if someone would like to try it. The other thing I did was to do my favorite 2 mile walk aerobics, then had the 4 miler set at the 2 mile mark, and just took it from there. I may try that once more before purchasing anymore video tapes, especially after reading the reviews from the people on the tape that I've enjoyed twice daily for months. I haven't dropped weight, had gained 60 lbs almost overnight when I became disabled. A lot of it has to do with medication, so it's not the video that's the problem. I work up a sweat, it's not too hard and it's not too easy. For me it was just right. I would like to find another one similar to the 2 Mile one, if anyone has one in mind by Leslie.
Rating: Summary: Easy to use and fun Review: I haven't used an exercise video for years because they either seem too hard to follow or too boring, but I just tried this video and I think it's great. It is easy to follow, but it can be adjusted to anyone's fitness level because you work at your own pace. I think Leslie Sansone is motivating and the moves are fun. The time goes by quickly and the "Fit-o-meter" that tells you how far you are into your workout really makes you want to keep going. I think I would probably buy more of Leslie's videos in the future.
Rating: Summary: When you know you have to workout but really don't want... Review: to get your butt up, pop this tape in and start walking easy. It is only 25 minute long but works as an excellent motivator & trigger. After done, you will feel more energized and motivated to pop in other tapes and finish your daily workout routine. It is a good workout itself - it makes me sweat believe it or not. I like Leslie's friendly and easy manner and the music really works well with the workout. No pressure, feel good and easy tape that I can always reach for whenever I need a little push. A definite keeper!
Rating: Summary: Just got it Yesterday . . . (11/26/01) Review: Very easy to do, and it didn't seem like two miles. Matter of fact, it's a bit hard to believe that I can get a good workout and lose weight (if done enough times per week) without killing myself. I'm too used to the "killer aerobics" tapes. We'll see.
Rating: Summary: Leslie's Best Exercise Video Review: I like several of Leslie Sansone's walking workout videos, but this is her best. From best to worst, here's how I rank the five I own:2-MILE WALK -- her best video. Good pace, lots of variety. Not too hard for a beginner. It has a mileage gauge, which helps keep me going. (1996) MIRACLE MILE -- a 1-mile walking workout in 15 minutes, plus a cool down and stretches. Great for those days when I haven't much time but I want to get some quick exercise in. Also good on days of cramps, if tired, etc. (1996) WEIGHT LOSS WALK -- has 3 20-minute segments of 1 mile, 1.5 miles, and 1.5 miles. Excellent for variety. Handy for those days when I want a different distance. Segments can be done alone or combined for a wide variety of distances -- up to 4 miles. A mix of familiar and different movements. Some of the exercises are a little goofy but it's good variety. Don't like the silent gaps between songs. (1993) Not recommended: PLUS 40 WORKOUT -- A 2-mile workout, not nearly as good as "2-MileWalk". Has silent gaps between songs. (1989) WALK & FIRM -- Leslie with hand weights doing safe and simple exercises. Unfortunately, I really can't get into it, and I've never finished the video. (1998) Leslie's videos are hard enough but not too hard for people just getting back into exercise. When I use them daily (especially mornings) I find I'm much less hungry all day. I've lost 9 pounds in 3 weeks. I try to exercise daily but usually do so 4-6 times a week. I feel better, sleep better, and have better posture.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Video Review: I am a member of Weight Watchers and I was looking for a way to exercise indoors when it's too cold to walk or jog outside. This video is excellent. I feel better than I do when I walk outside for two miles. And I don't find Leslie annoying at all. I find her very inspiring. Her chipper mood helps get me going in the morning. I would highly recommend this video to anyone.
Rating: Summary: It worked for me Review: I bought this tape as another attempt to lose weight, which I have been trying unsuccessfully to do for the last five years. That was four months ago and I have lost 30 pounds so far. I can genuinely say I owe it all to this tape. This tape is easy enough to get through the first time around but still enough to get you sweating and your heart rate up. The moves are low-impact and very easy to follow. Also, the moves can be easily modified to suit your fitness or energy level. If you are getting tired at any point throught the workout, Leslie lets you know you can stop using your arms or just go back to a walk. Once you've mastered the tape (and know it by heart like I do) you can increase the intensity by jogging instead of walking or adding the arm movements a few counts before she does. Thanks to this tape I am in the best shape I have ever been in. I wish she made a three or four mile tape!
