Summary: The most relaxing yoga practice, very beneficial!
Review: I have been doing yoga on and off for almost 30 years. I started with Lilias yoga and you as a young gymnastic student and found the practices very relaxing. Now, as I get older I have returned to yoga for its healing benefits. When I am stressed with a problem or worry, or just sore and stiff from computing this is the workout I most often turn to. And yes, like others have stated, many times I too have fallen asleep at the end. I have suffered with chronic fatigue and insomia for the last 8 years so this is a wonder and a great thing. If you want a vigorous exercise look elsewhere. If you want to reshape your bad posture and get pain relief, look no further. I have had many professional massages and none have ever given me the overall benefits and a feeling of relief like the yoga practice I enjoy from this tape. I have many other yoga tapes and dvds but I always return to this one. Others are too rushed through the poses. Here you always breathe through until the stress diminishes.

Summary: Excellent video but not for avid exercisers
Review: I have been exercising regularly (not strenuously) for many years now. The stetching and yoga conditioning exercises in this video are the SAME EXACT ones I already use from taking step aerobics, kickboxing, etc. They are universal moves that are good for everyone. However, if you have already been taking aerobics or even dance classes, chances are that you already do these moves.

Summary: Great way to get started with yoga!
Review: I have never taken a yoga class but I found this tape easy to follow and still a bit challenging which is what I wanted.. What I was surprised at was that every time I have completed the whole tape I end up falling asleep after the relaxation session.. Since I have such difficulty sleeping this is an added "bonus" for me.. I definately recommend this tape to anyone who is starting out!!

Summary: Ultimate in relaxation
Review: I love this tape. I bought this based on others' reviews and must admit I love it too. When I bought it the stress I was under was making me ill, but after a few sessions with this tape, I literally felt more relaxed! The end of this tape is so soothing and I fall asleep at the end 9 out of 10 times I watch it! Highly recommend as a beginners tape and for anyone who needs to RELAX or wind down at the end of the day!

Summary: Easier than other videos
Review: I own all of the Yoga Zone series videos, and of the main ones (Postures for Pregnancy and Meditation excluded), I think this is the easiest one. A few of the poses are more challenging, but as the video's title suggests, the goal is Stress Release, which means not over-exerting yourself. If you want relaxation, you'll love this video. If you want more intensity, or more flexibility and strength, look to the other video in the series- Flexibility and Tone, which is more challenging.

Summary: Love this video!
Review: I own many yoga tapes and this one is one of my very favorites. You get the best of both worlds...a good toning session and poses to relax you. I always feel great when I finish this tape; like I just had a massage.

Summary: Very Good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I purchased this tape to help with my back and leg pains. I began doing this tape about 2 weeks and I feel the difference. There are two instructors so the positions are done either modified for for advance. The instructions are spoke well. It is best to watch the tape at least once before performing(this is best with all tapes).I am sleeping better and the back pain is easing up slowly. This tape is really for stress release. Removing it out of your arms, legs, back, neck, etc. If you are looking for sun salutions you will not find them here... I look for forward to purching additional Yoga Zone videos.

Summary: A safe haven for beginners.
Review: I'm new to Yoga. My daily workout takes place in a small, converted bedroom that doubles as a storage facility. I'm not terribly flexible, not good about remembering to breathe, and don't look like the attractive women in this tape (and never will...yoga or no yoga). I also don't have the room to store, nor budget to purchase special Yoga chairs, mats, pillows, or clothing.

Alan Finger's teaching style is perfect for me. His delivery is deliberate and well paced, and his reminders to breathe and to release muscle tension are consistently timed for beginners like myself who are often so focused on twisting and balancing into an unfamiliar posture that they forget to breathe. Unlike other Yoga tapes I've tried that pulled and pushed me through their exercise regimens, Finger's tape - in figurative terms - transports me from one pose to another, giving me the time I need to orient myself and my blood pressure to each new posture. And, unlike the exercises contained in other Yoga tapes (such as the Rodney Yee series), Finger's exercises do not require the use of special equipment -- which means a lot to me in my space-starved exercise area.

To say that this tape focuses on conditioning and stress relief does it an injustice. It also serves as a great introduction to Yoga for folks who aren't flexible, aren't health-nuts, aren't budding-Buddhists, and who are easily discouraged from taking the time to take care of themselves. Finger has come up with a teaching method and series of postures that are effective, encouraging, relaxing, and immediately achievable. I'm looking forward to purchasing other tape in the Yoga Zone series.

Summary: Perfect For Before Bedtime
Review: I'm warning you--don't do this video in the morning when you get up, because you'll want to go right back to sleep again.

It's very relaxing. Most of the video is just stretches, but there are also some of conditioning poses which are strenuous physcially, so your muscles will feel tired when you're done. It's a nice feeling.

This video is labeled "beginners" and it that's appropriate because it is a very easy video. There are no props required and none of the moves require very much skill. In addition, the instructor's explanations are very detailed and easy to understand.

This would be a great starter's tape for someone who has never tried yoga before.

Summary: conditioned and relaxed after all
Review: I've "dabbled" in yoga several times over the last 10 years or so and have thoroughly enjoyed it, but have most recently been focusing on cardio/strength training. Having lost most of the weight I've wanted to, I started looking for alternative exercise forms to help maintain the weight loss (and maintain my interest in exercise).

This video is definitely a great beginner or "starting-again" yoga workout. Finger's voice is soothing and instructive without being chatty and the fact that he instructs while having two other people demonstrate is a great format (one girl does the more intense variations and the other the more basic moves). The only negative is that it is just a tad too short (you don't want it to end) overall and the relaxation portion at the end is too long. I definitely recommend this video, however!
