Summary: great video
Review: I really enjoyed this video. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I was looking for something to center myself as well as get my body back in shape, and this video truly is an inspirational experience that I can share with my son. He also loved being held, rocked, lifted into the air and set on my shins for a great ab workout! I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for more than just a workout -- it is something to share with your new child as well as a calming and centering experience for you. We look forward to this every day!

Summary: Great workout and great bonding w/baby
Review: I really enjoyed this workout and I loved the experience with the baby. There were times that the baby fussed and drooled on me but that was no excuse for me not to do the exercises. The instructor does come off a little "far out" but it *is* yoga and I just kept an open mind to the whole experience. In other words I wasn't expecting a "1-2-3 kick your leg" kind of workout when I bought this video. I felt closer to my baby and refreshed after I completed the tape. My three-month-old loves to watch the other babies on TV and is actually soothed by the instructor's voice. I recommend it especially if you are interested in physical and mental health!

Summary: I liked it but my baby didn't.
Review: I really liked this video and the ab work is quite good. However, my baby did not like being used as a weight and in fact hated it so much he bit me. Hard. Needless to say, we used this video only once.

Summary: An o.k. post natal workout
Review: I was a little disappointed in this workout. First of all, I really didn't like the long verbal introduction to yoga by the instructor. Also, I felt a video like this should have a new Mom as an instructor like most post natal workout videos do. The yoga is very boring. I did like the infant massage section at the end of the video and the section where you get to dance with your baby. Honestly, I would get Post natal Pilates instead, it is a shorter and better workout; or or Post natal excersize for Mom and Baby.

Summary: Good thing it didn't cost any more than it did...
Review: Let me begin by saying that yoga is not new to me, and prior to this video I typically found yoga instructors soothing to listen to and I love the serenity of holding poses and breathing deeply. If that is what you're looking for, don't buy this video. Khalsa talks CONSTANTLY through the workout. (And she doesn't have one of those mellow, relaxing voices either.) The exercises were not familiar yoga poses, but were the more traditional ab crunches, etc... They were not the slow stretching and holding poses I am more familiar with. I bought this video because it claims to include babies in the workout, but the babies are included only minimally and in ways that are neither comfortable or relaxing for them. They are supposed to spend most of the workout time resting quietly on the mat next to you. As already mentioned, Khalsa does not have a baby with her as she leads this workout. My guess is because she's concerned about being interrupted by a fussy baby. I can't blame her, because that's what happened to me, but it probably means that the workout does not include babies in a way that makes them happy or relaxed. My suggestion? Get a yoga video for yourself that you can do while baby is asleep. You'll find it much more helpful and relaxing, and you won't have to worry about a fussy baby that you're supposed to be including every now and then in the exercises.

Summary: Liked the prenatal video & couldn't do the postnatal!
Review: Ok although this womans voice is completely annoying, I loved the prenatal portion. I did it 3-4 times a week and only gained 18 pounds (I was overweight to begin with). I tried to do the postnatal and NO WAY! Unless you are extremely into Yoga, you will not be able to do several of these positions. Also postnatal is done live with mothers and the babies and lots of crying babies. It is kind of annoying hearing the babys cry plus hearing the babies cry through the video made my milk drop more times than I could count!

Good luck!

Summary: loved the workout but Gurmukh IS a new age nut
Review: This is a fabulous post-baby workout and, unlike some of the others reviewing this, I can honestly say my son LOVES to do yoga with me. It may help that we started at less than 1 month old, but at 14 mos, he can do "downward dog" with the best of them!!

Gurmukh is a complete new age crunch, and has some annoying habits - like only addressing women in her class who have non-Western names (I know there is a Kate on the credits but it is PruPaul who is spoken to) - but she does know her stuff. I choose to find it amusing and use it to have more fun with my son during my workouts. She has also intrigued me with Kundalini yoga (I have previously only done Astanga) and, lord help me, I think I am going to get another of her videos!!

Summary: Buy with caution
Review: This series by Ms G Khalsa has its place. While the production is well presented I would not recommend it for anyone who had not been doing yoga for a long time, in otherwords a seasoned yogi. There is a lot of chanting, visualisation and a really new age/ esoteric feel to this DVD. While I have done yoga in various styles and with various teachers, I found this DVD patronising and over the top. I feel I wasted my money buying this product. What I would recommend is Lisa Hart's Fit Mamma. Now there is a routine that you want to get up for and Ms Hart is 8mths pregnant while she presents it and is a breath of fresh air. I use Ms Hart's DVD three times a week

Summary: A waste of money and time
Review: To begin with the instructor did not even have a baby with her. You are suppose to do yoga with your baby next to you for the most part. You are to perform the postitions around your baby. When I went from the triangle to the cobra, my baby grabbed my hair. When I lifted her overhead, she drooled on me. When I rocked on my back with her between my legs, I almost bonked her. At the end you are suppose to walk around the room holding your baby. I can do that while I do housework. This video is goofy.
