Summary: Yuck!
Review: Send it back, Send it back! This video is weird! To start with the cheesy guy with some kind of fake accent is annoying and condescending. He spends all this time talking about breathing, ribcages moving, breaths echoing and your diaphram not working during pregnancy, while his wife sits there and does the postures with a banal look on her face. I found this video too annoying to relax and enjoy the yoga poses. I was so amazed at how ridiculous this guy was that I just sat there with my mouth agape waiting for him to shut up and her to say anything! I couldn't even actually get into doing any yoga. I'm in my first pregnancy and would like to hear from other expectant moms, NOT from silly husbands who are obviously out of touch! Maybe if he stopped talking we could hear what she has to say! Note that they only show her on the cover not the annoying guy who actually does all the instruction. Get "Yoga Mama" or the Living Arts series instead. These show real people, relaxing settings and challenging poses!

Summary: The good, the bad and the ?
Review: The good: The poses in this video are excellent. They are real yoga poses as well as exercises which you see recommended in every pregnancy book. I really felt like I had done some good and was getting my body ready for a healthy pregnancy and delivery.

The bad: Some of the poses aren't held for long enough (explained on one side and held for a good amount of time, then only held for a couple of seconds on the other side). However, I found the instructor (the husband of the model) extremely annoying. I decided that there was no way I could do this tape more than once simply because I couldn't stand listening to him!

Summary: Creepy!
Review: The workout on this DVD may be decent, but I just can't get past the creepy husband/host. The setting is cheap looking and it is poorly filmed. For a much better pregnancy workout, I prefer FitMama.

Summary: Kid on the way? You'll have much better ways to spend $$$!
Review: This really wasn't worth the energy in purchasing. I was a very active mom - between working 50+ hours a week and a 2 yr old - when pregnant with my second, i was put on bedrest. After I was taken off total restriction, I was told I could so some light activity. OBGYN suggested yoga was a good substitute for activity since i couldn't go back to strength training/cycling/kickboxing. Maybe I'm just not one of those 'New Agey' type folks...but this was a waste of my precious time. Playing with my 2 year old gave me more energy and activity than this...and it was more rewarding too!

This tape was just plain boring - my mind wandered all the time on things I should have been doing while I was 'sitting there against the wall'. And the poses didn't seem to be modifications of the traditional yoga poses. If you listen to your body during pregnancy, it will tell you what naturally feels best. This tape offers poses - in my mind - that are simply common-sensical!

If you are pregnant, you obviously have at least one child coming and with that alone is the prospect you'll be spending a ton of $$$! Take the money you'd spend here and go buy something fun for the baby! My $0.02.

Summary: A little corny, but very enjoyable
Review: This video doesn't have any of the soothing music, beautiful scenery, and other "bells and whistles" yoga tapes normally have. It's a very simply put together video, but I found the husband and wife team very pleasing. The husband talks and the wife demonstrates, and I find the husband to be very soothing and very positive. On days when I just feel achy and blue, this video cheers me up and I always sleep better after doing it. As a beginner with Yoga, I felt this was a great introduction into the moves and breathing.

Summary: Good for Beginner Yoga Practicers
Review: This video has some good information about the basics, but isn't really all that challenging. If you've done yoga before, check out other options.

Summary: Not what I expected
Review: This video is more for instruction on poses that are good for pregnancy, rather than actually doing yoga. I expected a yoga video that would be like going to a yoga class. I also was hoping for something that conditioned muscles for a better labor and delivery, but that's not what this video is for either. Though this was my first experience with yoga, it was disappointing. I'm going to be more careful now, to be sure that any videos I buy in the future are exactly what I'm looking for.

I don't think this video is a complete waste - and I will continue to use it. But I am back online looking for a better prenatal yoga video that I will use as my regular prenatal yoga workout.

Summary: Not for beginners
Review: This video is not for pregnant moms with no yoga experience - some of the instruction was hard to follow and the poses - even the ones that might seem simple - were sometimes quite difficult for me (I'm 7 and one half months pregnant).

There was no pregnancy preparation (e.g., kegels) either.

I'm still looking for a good pre-natal DVD with light stretching and exercise.

Summary: WHAT A JOKE.
Review: THIS VIDEO NEEDS TO BE REALLY TAKEN OFF OF THE MARKET. FIRST IF YOU CAN GET PASS THE ANNOYING GUY YOUR DOING GOOD. THEN HIS WIFE EVEN LOOKS LIKE SHE WANT'S TO TELL HIM TO SHUT UP A COUPLE OF TIMES. I THOUGHT THIS VIDEO WAS JUST A WASTE OF TIME. IT JUST ANNOYED ME THE WHOLE TIME. EVERYTIME SHE MOVED INTO A DIFFERENT POSITION HE WOULD TALK AND TALK AND TALK WHILE SHE WAS JUST BENT IN THESE POSITIONS AND IT WOULD SEEM THAT HE'S NOTICING THAT BEING IN THESE POSITIONS IN A LONG TIME WOULD START TO HURT BUT HE'S MORE INTO WHAT HE'S SAYING. PLEASE TAKE THIS VIDEO OFF THE SHELF! OR THROW IT IN THE TRASH THAT'S WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE!!

Summary: Heaven sent
Review: Twenty minutes into this DVD I realised I had purchased something that was going to be of enormous benefit during my pregnancy. There is no irritating new-age background music, the commentator gives clear instructions (so that you can concentrate on the pose and getting your form correct) and it places particular emphasis on back strengthening exercises. I do have previous yoga experience so I'd hesitate to recommend it someone who has never been to yoga class unless they were already fit and reasonably flexible. It sure beats flicking through a book, having to stop every few minutes to read each of the instructions to make sure you have the correct pose. I have purchased 2 books on pregnancy and yoga and both have remained unopened since I bought the Yoga Zone DVD. So if you are like me and have done some yoga, but live in a remote area with no access to a class tailored for pregnancy then this is by far and away the next best thing - you won't regret it.
