Rating: Summary: ONE OF MY FAVE FUN WORKOUTS! A MUST-BUY! Review: A programmable DVD that lets you create your own custom workout. Just choose the segments you want and they'll play in the exact order you selected. Includes six 15-20 minute sections: low-impact aerobics, higher-impact kickboxing, cardio intervals, jump-rope intervals, upper-body toning and lower-body toning. To make designing your workout easy, Kathy starts with an easy-to-understand explanation of how to choose and sequence your personal workout (to match your fitness goals). This DVD is carefully re-edited using segments from Kathy's "Aerobox," "Peak Fat Burning," "Lift Weights to Lose Weight," "Kickboxing" and "Cardio Fat Burner" videos. A great addition to my exercise video collection.
Rating: Summary: This DVD lost a star for missing 2 important components! Review: As much as I love Kathy Smith and her workouts, I have to say that the lack of warm-up and cool-down on this DVD makes me think they put this one together in a real hurry! As Kathy introduces the concept behind the DVD, (and, by the way, she looks stunning, as usual), she talks about the benefits of each aspect of the DVD, but with no mention of a warm-up or cool-down! This is particularly essential if you're doing the aeroboxing (jump rope segment) or kickboxing sections!! The Functionally Fit Peak Fat Burning intervals section was longer in the original video so they don't actually complete all sections here, which is a shame since it's such a great workout. Kathy has been a professional fitness instructor for many, many years, so I feel the warm-up/cool-down elements should have been included - especially since all her other videos/workouts include them, or at least remind/mention to the viewer to do them! (I own all her videos, except "Starting Out", and the Pregnancy one!) The original Lift Weights to Lose Weight video had 3 sections, 2 of which are on this DVD (Upper and Lower Body), but on the original tape, the second workout (Lower Body section) was 18 mins then 2 mins of stretching - they stopped it on this DVD after the 18 mins!! BUT WHY?! (I'm sure those 2 mins would save some people a few aches and pains the next day!!) It would really have been even better value if they had also incorporated an abs section, too, as part of the toning segment/s. If you prefer step aerobics + weights section and abs, I would recommend Kathy Smith's Fat Burning Breakthrough (52 mins workout) or KS's Step Workout (1hr 9 mins workout).
Rating: Summary: this dvd is fantastic! a real cardio workout! Review: definitely a keeper! some people here say that there is no warm-up and cool-down but that can be easily remedied. it is easy to do those things without kathy's help. however, the fact that you can combine different workouts from this dvd makes it a best buy. it is worth it! kudos kathy!
Rating: Summary: Great concept BUT... Review: I am pretty much a beginner, but I must say this is a great DVD to buy! It is compiled of segments from some of her previous videos, so if you have those, you may not want this. But if you don't have them, definitely give this a try because you can program your own workout which I love! You can choose from two long-slow workouts, two interval workouts, and an upper and a lower body strength training. I also love the first segment where Kathy tells you the "rules of fat burning". There were only a few things about this DVD I didn't care for. First is that there is no warm up. You may want to do some stretches or pop in a yoga DVD before doing this. Same with cooldowns. Second is that I assumed the long-slow cardios would be more of a beginner level, but they are more of an intermediate to advanced level to me. I clocked a segment at 136 bmp (some other videos I use are at around 130). I don't have much of a problem with that, I need the push, but the "dance moves" are a little confusing and it took me a while to catch on. Third is that during some of the workouts she and the other people get a little loud and hyper. In some ways that can really get you going and smile along with them, but if you're really trying to concentrate it can be annoying. But Kathy definitely isn't as annoying as some instructors I've seen so overall I'd say she's a great modivator. This DVD will definitely stay in my favorites!

Rating: Summary: A Must For My Workout Collection! Review: I collect fitness DVDs because I use them an an alternative to my gym cardio and weights routine. This DVD gives a great cardio workout and upper/lower body toning. A viewer was right in that it lacks an ab workout. But that's not a problem since I can just use another DVD for those crunches. This is really a very effective workout. I love it!
Rating: Summary: I Love the low-slow cardio (20 Minutes) Review: I love the low-slow cardio segment. It is diferents steps and she adds more and more steps to it but at first you can be overwhelmed learnig it but I took about a week and keep rewinding and rewinding learning the steps and now is so much fun to workout to.
There are a total of 6 segments. I enjoy the lower body segment.
I don't do the other segments. But I would definitely recomend purchasing the dvd just for these segments.
And quite a few reviews complain about no warm up. Who cares just do your own stretches before and after you watch the dvd.
Rating: Summary: Great Workout Video Review: I read the reviews of this DVD and then bought it. I was excited by the fact it has different segments you can choose from even though I knew it didn't have a warm-up and cool down. This was my first day using it, and I have to say even though I loved the workout, I really did miss having a guided warm up at the beginning and cool down with stretching at the end. I go to aerobics classes regularly and I know how important those are.
That being said, I would definately reccomend this video to anyone who is used to working out and can do a warm-up and cool down with stretching on your own. If you know nothing about working out, wait on this one a while, or buy separate dvds with a warm up and cool down and follow those before and after you work out.
Don't discount this DVD completey though. Its so cool how you can program in your own workout for the day. I've never seen anything like that. And, Kathy is definately my favorite instructor.
Rating: Summary: A new fave in my workout dvd collection Review: I really enjoy this DVD! You can combine segments taken from her 5 previous tapes/dvds and program it to your own preference. It's a boredom buster because you won't get bored doing the same workout everyday. The problem though is that there is no warm up and cool down so that's a disappointment. In any case, I still consider this DVD a great buy because the almost 2 hour workout is definitely a fat blaster!
Rating: Summary: I love this DVD! Review: I really enjoy working out on this DVD. Sure it lacks the warm-up and cool-down but the mix and match workouts make up for it. You can always jog in place if you want to warm up. And for cool down, you can always do your own stretches. This is mainly a cardio workout so I don't expect much toning emphasis. I just use other toning DVDs to firm me up.
