Rating: Summary: really good personal training, personal touch, FUN! Review: after i had my last baby I was feeling like i needed to hire a personal trainer but i decided to buy a few fitness videos and am VERY HAPPY that i got this Gym IN A Box video. Leisa Hart helped me feel soooooooooo good during pregnancy and after delivery her postnatal video was a godsend. then i started doing the Gym In A Box personal training segments and did the cardio routine when i wanted to, did some various yoga moves(so original, i loved her style of teaching). The nutrition info was ok, it wasn't why i bought this video. I loved the music and felt a great personal connection with Leisa, it seemed like we were working out together. i loved this video, and think anyone htat does it should get something out of it. if you are a beginner, you'll love it. if you are a mid-level exerciser, you'll love it. if you are advanced, well, I would think I am pretty fit now, I got a ton out of it. So, it should be fun for anyone, especially if you like fun workouts that give you some great variety.
Rating: Summary: Really delivers results!! Review: Digital Gym in a Box is awesome! If you follow the routines, there is no way not to get fit. I love the fact that you can choose the routine based on how you are feeling that day. Being able to mix and match the routines based on your energy level is key to sticking with it. Even on days when you are feeling lethargic you can make a quick choice of a 10 minute work out and feel better. The Yoga is a great way to unwind after a stressful day or week. The cardio is an unbelievable work out. The targeted body part work outs are also challenging without being impossible. Leisa is easy to follow and motivating without being too over the top. I would definately reccomend this to anyone that needs a boost to get back to their New Year's resolutions. This was just the boost I needed before swimsuit season. Don;t miss it!
Rating: Summary: Variety and Choose-Your-Own Review: Great for variety. This dvd allows me to choose to pick a 10-minute workout (e.g. abs, yoga, pilates, arms) or 30-minute cardio. Or I can choose a "personal trainer" track that groups together workouts depending on my needs and the day of the week. Example: if I pick the personal trainer workout designed for abs, then on Wednesday I would do arms and yoga, and on Thursday I would do abs and cardio.
The dvd comes with a booklet that has recipes and a sample nutritional guide if you want quick results. They try to sell the dvd as quick fix to loose a dress size in a week, but I think the real reason to buy this is it allows you to pick your routine and gives you enough variety to keep you from being bored.
Also, you can turn off the instructor's talking and workout only to music. (But I didn't find the instructor annoying.) The only thing I don't like is the "photo gallery". This bonus feature is a bunch of still-shots of the instructor, which doesn't do anything for me. This dvd is good for beginners and intermediates mostly because you can pick and choose your workout. Advanced exercisers might want something more challenging.
Rating: Summary: Great start! Review: I am a beginner at excercise and I found this video to be easy to follow along with, as well as motivating. While it has only been a week, I already notice a difference! Their are so many options of workouts that it is impossible to get bored!! I would highly recommend.
Rating: Summary: best workout for beginners to intermediates, FUN FUN Review: i did a review for the vhs videos, but also bought the DVD so i am copying my vhs review and attaching here, i think you will appreciate my comments:
...i loved the personal training you get from the one on one approach...leisa hart is a doll...the cardio is at a good pace and i was never intimidated by any of the workouts...the program has all kinds of options, you can do one workout for ten minutes or do several for 60 minutes depending on what you want to do...there is not any special equipment needed....however, i did the Fit To The Core videos by Leisa Hart and bought her CORE BAR and i am totally loving that workout as well....i have combined all three programs and have toned my arms, trimmed my thighs and lost 14 pounds in 4 weeks without dieting...i am more energetic and i feel confident in my exercises...this really is a great video....i also bought the DVD to use at my boyfriends house, and that is even better than the vhs....it is a VERY GOOD video to use to get in shape and stay in shape...Leisa Hart is outstanding.
Rating: Summary: Great variety Review: I just bought this DVD and am very excited to start on my own weight loss plan. The Personal Trainer section is great and offers many different combinations of the workouts. The pilates and yoga sessions are energizing and relaxing. The cardio workout is a little complicated at first, but I imagine repitition will help. I love the idea of having a different workout every day of the week. And once I get back to my ideal weight, I will still be able to use the video! I'll be able to use the "Take It Easy" or "Mantenance" Programs within the Personal Trainer. I recommend this video to anyone who's bored with walking or stationary workout equipment - I sure was!
Rating: Summary: A Great Beginner/Intermediate Level Workout Review: I just got this workout and I personally like it! I am an intermediate exerciser and I think workout will do well for beginners/intermediate levels. The format of the dvd is very similar to Karen Voight's Sleek Physique ( and also Michelle Dozois' 10 Minute Solution) but I like this better because the cardio workout is around 30 mins (including short warmup and cooldown). The low-impact cardio workout has around 3 segments which includes a rather unique dance style workout with flowing movements (not latin dance but more like ballet movements), athletic/kickboxing segment, and a fast pages pilates/yoga segment. A lot of lunges, squats and pulses ( She does a lot of pulses for her toning workouts as well). I wouldn't say that the cardio workout is very intense but I think it is more so than Karen Voight's Sleek Physique (Karen's workout is just around 20 mins cardio, which includes the warmup). However, I like Sleek Physique's yoga better. The additional segments include 10 mins upper body, 10 mins buns and thighs, 10 mins abs, 10 mins pilates (does a few twists and planks), 10 minutes yoga (yoga as stretch, not power yoga). I like the toning workouts because you can easily add intensity by using heavier weights. I believe if you do the entire 80 minute workout, you will get a very good workout. Haven't tried that yet though The first section of the DVD is called Sleek in a Week. You get pre-programmed daily workouts for the entire week. From monday-saturday, the workouts last from 50-60 minutes. For saturday, it's just the 10 minute yoga stretch. It can be repetitious because you are doing the same cardio and toning workouts. The second section of the DVD is called My Personal Trainer. It also contains pre-programmed daily workouts (using the same cardio and toning workouts)for the entire week but targets different fitness goals. So the choices are Body Blast, Bun Blast, Upper Body Blast, Awesome Abs, Stress Reduction, Mind Body, Time Saver, Fit It In, Take It Easy, Maintenance Plan and Customize Your Own Workout. Leisa works out alone in a studio with some workout equipments as decor on each side of the studio (including her videos on display ). Music is pleasant and instrumental; not annoying at all. But I wish the dvd had a music-off option so I can play my own; it only has the music-only option. It's my first time to try Leisa and I like her. She is friendly, explains the movements clearly and cues very well. DVD includes nutrition program with recipes from The Rose Program (first time I heard about it). www.theroseprogram.com.This is an excellent DVD for beginners and intermediates.
Rating: Summary: I lost a dress size in just a week, now losing more weight! Review: I just want to say three words about Leisa Hart...I Love Her! I have been working out with her video,"Gym in a Box," and I love it. I did the "lose a dress size in a week" and I am proud to say that I tried on a size 6 yesterday, and it fit!!! I met her about 2-3 weeks ago at Mall in Dallas and I discussed with her that I was a vegen and I'd worked out regularly for a couple of years, and was unable to go from and 8 to a 6. She gave me some advice and recommend her GymInABox video and I reluctantly gave it a try. I only did it for 5 days last week and did not watch my diet, however, I now own my first pair of size 6 pants. Thank You Leisa, I Love You!!

Rating: Summary: Can't beat it unless you leave your house and pay double! Review: I love the fact that I get a personal trainer without even stepping outside my bedroom. I also love that I have a personal trainer that meets my schedule. I found the dvd to motivational and not boring. Sleek in a week is amazing, although I had hard time meeting the needs of eating in that way the exercise worked wonders. The week is set for you, and i enjoyed having the music only option once i became familar. It all moved at the right pace. My personal trainer was able to customize to how i felt each day and stress reduction worked wonders after work and/or a hard day. The special features are a great bonus i.e. the heart rate moniter.Just the solution to a fast paced woman in a fast paced city.
