Summary: not what I expected
Review: I bought this DVD under the impression it was going to be a results driven workout, I saw the word "INTENSIVE" on the cover which misled me into beliving it was actually going to BE Intense. Not so, I found it to be very unchallengeing.
The DVD is broken down into two 30 min. segments. An aerobic section, which has alot piviot turns, and fancy footwork with alot of "mambos and cha-chas" which can be fun, IF thats what you're looking for.
Personally, I prefer to get an actual workout when I purchace a Workout DVD. I would buy an instructional dance video if I wanted to take it easy and have fun. However, I did'nt even find it to be fun, or instructional. I felt like I was spinning around my living room like some tripped out hippie, with all those useless piviot turns! At one point I was getting so bored thinking, "Man! This is a really long warm-up" and then she started the cool down!
And the weight section is a total joke as well. Minna and her two backup dancers are pumping the most ridiculously small pink dumbells I have EVER seen! Seriously you can get better results lifting your cell phone to your ear! Even if you choose to use heavier weights, they are moving at such breakneck speeds with their two little pink toothpicks, OOPS, I mean dumbells, it would be impossible to keep up with them and maintain any kind of form.
I would reccomend this workout to someone begining a fitness program, but intermediate and advanced exercisers may find it disappointing.
Also if you need a 6 week "intesive care program" for your upcoming wedding, reunion or vacation, this simply isn't intense enough, if at all. Try Kathy Smiths Fat Burning Breakthrough. You will need a step, and some dumbells and yes it's intense but you WILL see results, FAST!

Summary: feeling it
Review: Minna's Emergency workout has been a refreshing change from my usual Cruch FatBlaster Goes Latin tape. There are a lot of chachas and mambos and other moves that are very similar, so if you learn one of these tapes you can easily do the other. The cardio is very dancy, which I love, and Minna actually makes me laugh as I go through some of the more dramatic steps. The cardio makes me sweat - it is a good moderate workout but it does not wear you out so you cant do anything else that day.

I am not used to weights in the slightest so the Toning section really gets me. It took awhile to get the coordination to do two moves at once in this section, but I am feeling the toning - particularly in my arms. Beginners like me would benefit from staying to 1 or 2 pound weights for this section.

Overall I found Minna to be encouraging and entertaining. The cuing is good and there is only one step where I felt frustrated because I couldnt see anyone's feet to figure out what the heck was going on. I will continue this tape for the next four weeks and see if it will continue to seem as great as it has so far.

Summary: Mixed workout Dance, classic and tone
Review: I really like Minna's style and personality and she has the body I am striving for. I also own the Fat Eliminator and would not hesitate to buy any other of her videos. I like the warm up and the dancy steps, allthough it's kind of hard doing it the first time, but once into it you don't feel like working out, but dancing. I don't believe in Emergency Workouts but rather long-term weight loss and shaping, but the workout keeps you motivated doing it again and again. 30 minutes of cardio at a low heart rate if you don't do the jumps and jacks. The music is okay, the only drawback is the white background girl, she is a little annoying. I highly recommend this and all of Minnas videos, and not only to people who need to lose weight in a certain period of time. It is important to keep tracking your heart-rate as there is not pulse check pause.

Summary: A doable workout
Review: This workout is doable and fun. It is hard enough to give you a good feeling when you finish. But not so hard you don't want to do it again. The sound quality on the DVD is also much easier on the ear than the usual VHS workout tape. I am a bit sensitive to scratchy music and love the clearness of this.

Summary: Excellent workouts
Review: I already had Minna's Fat Eliminator and Strength and Grace, and I loved them both for different reasons, but they were not exactly what I was looking for. I decided to get the Emergency Workout and I am so glad I did!! For one thing, the time FLIES by because she really keeps you moving and both workouts are actually fun. The Cardio and Toning workouts are 30 minutes each, so you feel the burn and work hard, but they are not too long and not too short. The music is good, and Minna and the girls look like they are having fun, too. I highly recommend this DVD, and not only to people who need to lose weight in a certain period of time. It is good for anybody under any circumstances.

Summary: Emergency workout
Review: I look and feel great! I can definately see results fast. It tones the body in a fun way. I definately look forward to working out every night now. I did have trouble keeping up the first time I watched it but caught on the second. If you love dancing and losing weight this tape really works. Minna really keeps me trying. I am usually not very motivated but this tape has motivated me.

Summary: Definatly a workout!
Review: Being a beginner, I found it very hard to keep up and get co-ordinated enough to follow her. After a few days and endless rewinding of the tape, I have started to get the hang of it. It is an intense work-out but you NEED to have co-ordination along wit the pause button close by.

Summary: Minna gave me results
Review: I agree with all of the other positive reviews. I have been using this video for about 4 weeks (not consistently because 1 week i got sick) and have lost about 3 lbs. I also noticed an increase in upper body strength (everything is easier to carry-grocery, boxes etc. I noticed the upper body strength after 2 weeks. I love Minna-she's very easy to follow and has a great personality. I even find myself doing the cha cha cha and mambo when I'm not working out!

Summary: Minna's instruction is fun without being obnoxious
Review: I have tried several aerobic workout videos, and it's easy to get turned off by the always too perky, too enthusiastic instructor. Minna manages to keep me focused and motivated without the obnoxious banter. I have definitely noticed a difference in my strength and muscle tone since using the video. I do both segments, and am amazed how quickly the time seems to go by. With the fun dance moves in the cardio portion and the very effective toning segment, this workout will add some variety to your fitness regimen.

Summary: Exercise or dance?!
Review: I have been out of shape and didn't realize how weak my body had become. Minna's program is just right for getting my heart rate up, and while I usually skip the toning portions, I can survive this one. The steps are fun and easy to follow. If you miss a beat, it is not difficult to catch up. With the Latin Pizazz in Minna's program, you forget you are exercising and enjoy dancing instead! After catching my breath, I look forward to doing it all over again!
