Rating: Summary: Best Aerobics Tape I Own Review: If you hate Kathy Smith (and I do), Minna is a very happy alternative. She's easy to follow, fun to workout with, and easily repeated all week long. Emergency Workout is broken down into two sections, 30 minutes of aerobics and 30 minutes of weights. The time flies by - when she says it's time to cool down, I can't believe it's over. It's that entertaining. She doesn't do the same old moves everyone else does, but she'll never leave you behind. A perfect balance of cardio and toning. I recommend all her tapes, including several of the Quick Fix videos she's featured in.
Rating: Summary: Great Workout, Great Sweat Review: I sweat like crazy doing this DVD.Minna is a great instructor. Took me a few viewings before I knew what I was doing on some of the moves. Defintely increased my stamina after doing this for a few weeks.
Rating: Summary: Minna's Emergency Workout is great Review: I am a 27 year old mother of 3 and used this workout for 6 weeks as suggested on the jacket cover and I did notice very substancial results in both weight loss and nice muscle tone! I stuck with it because I found it to be fun. This workout includes two sections which you do on alternate days - a 20 minute cardio workout which is fun, jazzy, dancy (to a latin salsa beat)with some aerobics, the second half of the workout is a 20 minute toning workout (which is more challenging then I thought it would be) where you use light weights along with your bodys own resistance to tone several muscle groups at once... in my opinion, the best total body toning you can get in 20 minutes, you work every major muscle group. Minna has a very upbeat attitude and keeps you going. I totally recommend this workout!
Rating: Summary: Great Toning and Aerobic Video Review: Minna Lessig is a pro. I love her encouraging, yet not obnoxious, style. I also own her Fat Eliminator video, and I hope she comes out with more. I am among the coordination-challenged, and even *I* mastered the steps after awhile! So if you are feeling frustrated with this video initially, KEEP IT UP. You will be glad you did. This video is challenging, without being too intense. For intermediate exercisers this may not be challenging enough, but good for a lighter day. I think this is a good value because you get a complete cardio workout, plus a handy half-hour toning workout. One critisism I have is with the cool down. I felt that I didn't want to do anymore fancy dance moves (especially to Kenny G. type music!), and that it should have included more stretching. It's pretty useless. Also, the ab workout at the end is SO SHORT. What happened to our obliques, Minna? But these are minor problems that you can remedy by incorporating your own exercises. I didn't have an "emergency", but I feel that I use this tape at least 4 times a week. It's a keeper.
Rating: Summary: I love this workout!! Review: I usually don't like aerobics videos, but I thougt this one sounded like fun and I am SO glad I took a chance on it. The routines are fun, challenging and really work. After just a few weeks my husband even noticed I had lost weight and toned up. I really can't say enough about the routines though. I am a former dancer and cheerleader, so I love to do fun challenging routines. Most workout videos fall flat in the coreography area, and can be a total bore, but this one isn't. I would definately suggest it to anyone. Also, Minna is not annoying- it's like working out with a friend---kind of.
Rating: Summary: Fitness Emergency Review: I wasn't sure if I was going to like this tape when I received it because I'm not really into videos with super complex choreography. But I was pleasantly surprised when I gave this video a try. I liked the balanced blend of dancy and athletic style moves. The dance moves are do-able. I especially loved doing the hippy marches and shoulder shimmies! Minna is a great instructor. She's not chatty (which is a huge plus for me!), yet motivationg and fun. My heart rate stayed up during the toning section also because the upper and lower body are worked simultaneously. My only gripe is that the toning section in this video doesn't really work my muscles to fatigue because it goes by so quickly. However, I do get a nice hour long workout when I do the whole tape and I'm drenched with sweat when it's over. So for those advanced beginners/intermediates seeking a video with simple choreography to challenge you and spice up your rotation every now and then, purchase Emergency Workout.
Rating: Summary: Keeps it fun Review: I chose this DVD because I liked Minna's style on the Quick Fix Abs/Arms/Buns/Total Body series. I don't have Minna's other workouts, but will likely get them soon because I enjoy this one. There has been some criticism about the dance-cardio segment of this DVD. I would say that it is a little confusing and at times I have felt a little silly doing it, but each time I do the workout I improve and it is always fun. The challenge of wanting to do all of the steps well and not look too much like a freak keeps me coming back. 30 minutes of this cardio workout beats 30 minutes on the treadmill any day. The toning segment is challenging enough to make me feel like I am using my time wisely, but it doesn't kill me, so I won't find excuses to skip it altogether. I would agree with other reviewers that have said if there is a true "emergency" and you are working toward fast results for something specific, you might want something that is more intense. But for a workout that will keep you coming back everyday, this is a pretty good one.
Rating: Summary: The best one yet! Review: I have bought so many different exercise videos/dvds and seem to find this one is the one for me. Like others have said, it is challenging enough but not over the top. I definatly find myself feeling like I have accomplished a good exercise routine every morning. My kids love to watch me doing it too, usually they tug at me and beg me to get them this and that but since I got this dvd they just sit and watch. The first couple of times I did the exercises it was a little confusing but fun enough to try again the next day, now that 2 weeks have gone by I seem to be in tune with it all and enjoying it just as much as the first time. Give it a try!
Rating: Summary: I probably wouldn¿t buy it again¿ Review: I bought this video to use while waiting to receive The Firm workout program...which takes FOREVER, so if you are interested in getting started right away, look elsewhere (but that's for another review). Admittedly, in the last couple of years, workouts have taken a back seat. I wanted to kick-start a program. Minna's cardio workout is a decent aerobic workout for beginners and intermediates, but a little complicated to follow. Some of the moves are unnecessary, and used to give the program "style." Personally, I want something less "stylish" and more "workoutish." The toning workout is also a decent workout for beginners and intermediates, but is rushed and doesn't spend enough time on form. Overall, I like the program. I do feel like I worked out when I'm finished, and it's kept me motivated enough to do it three to five times a week. I am a little disappointed in so much as it's not what I originally expected.
Rating: Summary: Minna does it again... Review: Minna includes a program to follow in this workout along with the days that you should do only the cardio, only the toning, or both. This is a really fun workout and I even find myself doing them from time to time (at work, etc.). Definitely a keeper! I combine this with some of Minna's other workouts, weight training, and more for a well rounded exercise regime.
