Rating: Summary: I liked 1 out of 3 of the segments. Review: I am not much of an excerciser, so you would consider me a beginner. I bought this video because of the flexibility of doing one of the 20 minute segments at a time. The first night I fast forwarded to the cardio-kickboxing segment. I liked it a lot and found that it really got my heart beating and me sweating! The next day I did the dance-aerobic part. It was not for me. The moves were more about looking "smooth" than actually getting a workout. Donna also continued to say "I've got your back", which is kind of weird considering she isn't in my family room excercising with me. Last night I did the toning segment. It was OK, but I didn't feel like she concentrated on my arms very much. Overall, I would recommend this video to someone who has other videos in their library to choose from as well.
Rating: Summary: fun for first-timers Review: This was my first workout DVD (OR video, for that matter), and I really like it! Donna is upbeat and energetic. I feel like I get a good workout, even in just 20 minutes. I've done each workout at least once now, and it's easier to keep up. She throws in a lot of moves which can be hard to follow at first. But this also helps the time go quickly. Very important: this DVD includes advanced versions of each workout, so you're actually getting six workouts on one DVD. I especially liked the Kick & Jab. Dance Aerobics wasn't a very powerful workout, but it's still fun. Circuit Toning is terrific, and it's easy to tailor any of these programs to your current fitness level. They're all easy on the knees, too. I bought this DVD based on customer recommendations and am very pleased. Thanks, ladies!
Rating: Summary: Worth the money! Review: I have about 30 exercise videos and I could replace half of them with just this one DVD! Congratulations to Donna Richardson and her production company for putting some thought into a DVD and giving it to us at a bargain price.Essentially what you get on her DVD are 3 separate workouts that are each about 20 minutes in length and I would rate the exercises as beginning to intermediate. They are a little too fast for those with limited mobility however. You have: 1. Circuit toning (3 - 10 pound weights required) 2. Kickboxing and 3. Aerobic Dancing. I love the pace, the choice of exercise, and the instruction on this DVD. As a DVD bonus, she has added 3 additional advanced routines! Now I hate exercise with a passion but I don't mind 20 minutes of suffering and on a good day, I might do 2 different workouts for a total of 40 minutes. However, you actually have over 2 hours of exercise on this one video! Finally, you actually get to choose to view samples of her other videos or not. Most of them just slap you in the face with their obligatory ads for the first 5 minutes. Nice touch! Again, I have them all but this is one of my personal favorites!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Exercise Routine DVD with Great Variety Review: I really enjoyed the variety and the music. This is a perfect exercise DVD for women of color who want to add some variety and see someone who resembles them when working out. Need to add more of her DVD's to your selection and more women of color would order from you.
Rating: Summary: I really like this DVD! Review: This is a fun workout. I really like the fact that it's broken down into 3 20 minute sessions. I really like the circuit toning and the Kick and Jab sessions. The Kick and Jab session is a lot of fun, which makes me want to do it often. The Dance Aerobics has a lot of fast moves that I haven't quite picked up on yet, but the instructor cam makes learning all of the moves easier. Donna is very motivating and fun to listen to. The only complaint I have is that she says "I've got your back" way too much, but all in all she's very energetic and doesn't grate on your nerves. Another good feature is that once you've platued with the first workout she has a more advanced workout that seems very challenging. I would recommend this DVD for anyone who wants a workout that won't get boring quick.
Rating: Summary: A good diverse workout Review: This video has something for everyone! I like Donna Richardson as an instructor. She's not overly peppy, but is able to keep you moving. I had previously used her four-day rotation workout, but this one is much better. I've been using it regularly (5 days a week) for about two months and haven't gotten bored with it yet. I love the kick and jab segment! It really makes you feel strong and focused. At first you can feel somewhat stupid trying to keep up with the third segment, which is the dance routine, but after a couple of times you catch on and it is a good workout. Use the instructor cam segment to get the moves down. I started out doing the regular sessions for a week and then switched to the advanced workout. I prefer the advanced for two reasons. First (and obviously), it's a tougher workout, but secondly, she doesn't have anyone exercising around her. If you like a lot of noise from others, then stick to the regular workout. If you are looking for a focused workout, choose the advanced. Without question you will have very toned arms and thighs/rear-end after sticking with this routine.
Rating: Summary: Fun and Funky Workout Review: This three day rotation workout is great! You burn calories and have fun. It is a party that ends too soon. I love Donna's attitude. She is a motivator. I would use perky but she's laid back. The kickboxing routine has one girl that tends to interject a lot. That is a little distracting to meb but the workout is still very good. If you need a quixk workout that is effect for total body shaping, this is the way to go!
Rating: Summary: too inner-urban for me Review: i find donna richardson to be an african-american version of denise austin. now, i don't mean that as a compliment either. they are both very chatty and goofy. donna richardson is so hip hop and over bubbbly, she annoys me. i thought reviews of this video would be enough for me to like the workout, but i can't get past the annoying instructor, so i traded this after three veiwings, sorry donna, i just don't like your style.
Rating: Summary: Not Worth It Review: I'm fat and relatively out of shape, and this video was so easy I think I actually yawned during one of the segments. Too much dancing and not enough sustained use of muscles. Donna Richardson's a good instructor, though. Not squeaky or stupid, and she cues well. Maybe her other videos are better.
Rating: Summary: The only workout I ever stuck to! Review: Donna is my new best friend. She is so encouraging and perky, unlike some of the fake fitness gurus out there. She makes things fun, does some moves that are silly but fun. It does take a few times of doing the workout to really be able to keep up, but its just a small challenge, and worth it.
