Rating: Summary: Simply the best! Review: I love this tape and I love Kathy Smith. This tape is based on the idea of pushing yourself to an anaerobic state during high-intensity intervals to help you burn maximum calories during and after your work-out. This tape will really get you sweating and your lower body will get an awesome work-out. Though your upper body is somewhat neglected in this video, it is an absolute must-have. Leaves you feeling exhiliarated and pumped by the time you reach the end!
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: If you only buy one fitness tape, this has to be it. At first when I started I thought "how much of a workout can I get out of 6 two minute intervals". Boy was I mistaking. Those intervals work you hard, but the best part are the cool down periods in between each interval. Within one week I noticed my thighs becoming fimer. I also lost 5 pounds in one week (also in part of a strict diet). I feel energetic and alive. I recommend this tape to beginers who want to shed pounds and to the advanced folks who want to stay in shape. Oh and another thing the tape just flies by. That is what gets me coming back.
Rating: Summary: An excellent addition to your fitness video collection Review: I rented this video and enjoyed it so much I had to buy it. The moves are easy, so you can benefit from it the first time you do the video. The intervals give you an intense workout. One bit of advice though -- I don't think she incorporates enough stretching in the video, and the stretching and cooldown at the end may not be enough to get your heart rate back down to a normal level. You may want to stop the video and complete more stretching in the early part, as well as adding more stretches at the end to properly cool down. But that's someone each individual will have to determine for themselves. The workout itself, though, is intense without being too difficult to follow, which makes it a winner in my book.
Rating: Summary: This is a great workout that you can stick with... Review: I love Kathy Smith, and this is my favorite video so far. With the 2 minute intervals between intense workout & active recovery, it goes fast, and you can't get discouraged and quit. In the intense interval, you push yourself, and then you get to slow down for 2 minutes while you tone your lower body. The moves are fun and easy to do for beginners, and if you're more advanced, they are easily modified (she shows you how). If you're also wanting to tone your upper body, a great complement to this is the "Secrets of a Great Body: Upper Body Workout" by Kathy Smith. It's made to do only twice a week, and can be done on the same day as this video. (There's also a lower body workout, but you probably won't want to do it along with the Functionally Fit video.)
Rating: Summary: Time flies with this workout... Review: As another viewer noted, the upper body workout is pretty much non-existent, but you will definitely feel & see the difference in your lower body. The movements are easy to follow and the choreography makes it simple to adjust to your fitness level. I highly recommend this video to anyone who wants a fast, fun & intense aerobic workout.
Rating: Summary: Kathy's workouts are a great way to start the day! Review: This is an ideal workout for the the seasoned aerobic pro or the beginner. It has lots of different levels and Kathy makes it easy for you to tailor it to your own needs. The routine is based on the theory that you shock your body in to thinking you are working out with a high intensity by implementing short burst of high impact with a low impact base. I love the tape and never get bored with it. It is fast paced and easy. I have a library of fitness tapes and I rank this at the top along with her Power Step. If you only buy one workout tape , this is the one!
Rating: Summary: A super challenging interval workout. Review: Like most of Kathy Smith's workouts, this one features a familiar group of fellow exercisers, some demonstrating advanced level variations and some to show beginner level movements. The warm up is thorough, the cardio interval work is butt-kicking- but you can make it as hard or easy as you need to. She manages to work in a lot of her favorite squats and lunges in between intervals to give you some nice toning work, too. There is no abdominal section in this tape, but your lower body and heart will get a great all around workout. The music is a little too low, but it's pretty cheesy, so that's probably for the best. But believe me, once you get into the cardio interval portion, you won't notice music. All you'll notice is how hard you are working. END
Rating: Summary: Burns fat like a torch to a bucket of butter! Review: I've done many workout videos since the 80's and none have kept me as fit & lean as this one. I went from a size 8 to a 5 in just 2 months!! After the first couple times you do the video you'll memorize the moves. By the end of the tape you'll be drenched in sweat and smiling from cheek to cheek! The greatest part is that you can modify your workout depending on your level of fitness. There are different people for you to follow depending on how experienced you are. Many people have thanked me for recommending this tape, you won't be sorry if you buy it. The only thing that could improve it, is if it was made available on DVD!!
Rating: Summary: Kathy Smith does it again! Review: I have five Kathy Smith DVDs, and this is my most recent purchase. I really like this DVD because it gets the job done in a short amount of time--I get up early in the morning to exercise and I don't want an hour-long workout, because I have so many other things to do! I would call myself an advanced exerciser, and this workout still challenges me. Kathy Smith has a great personality without a lot of fake perkiness, which can be really irritating. I rotate this DVD with her Timesaver Super Cardio workout and Step workout on my cardio days, and I couldn't be happier with the rotation. Her workouts and a sensible diet keep me in my size 4 clothes!! Thanks Kathy!!
