Rating: Summary: It's good, but not great Review: I enjoyed this video the first few times I did it. Kathy is very encouraging and she explains the moves well so as to avoid injury. She is an incredible instructor and she obviously knows her stuff. Also, having the different levels of difficulty shown allows people of all levels to benefit from the video. My one complaint : I got bored with it. After doing it about 7 or 8 times, I didn't enjoy it anymore. The music isn't catchy and you can't listen to your own music because the pace changes often. The moves aren't interesting enough to keep you intrigued for long. All in all, it is an effective video, but it needs to be done with something else. You need to alternate it with another form of exercise, or perhaps another Kathy Smith video.
Rating: Summary: Best of all the Kathy Smith tapes Review: I have quite a few Kathy Smith fitness tapes and they are all the best home exercise tapes on the market - period. That said, this is the best of all for cardio and weight loss. You don't need any equipment and the workout is only 40 minutes long in its entirety, or just do the first half if you can't spare the time. It's great for beginners, but even intermediate exercisers like me will get a TOUGH workout. Kathy is always wonderfully motivating and the time flies by. I alternate this with her Functionally Fit Lower Body Sculpting and New Yoga tapes. These are the only fitness videos you need to see great results in 3 weeks (each tape 2x/wk)!
Rating: Summary: Great Time Saving Workout Review: I have used this tape a hundred times and never grow tired of it. She gets your heart rate up while toning the lower half of your body. The total workout is just over 30 minutes, making it the ideal time saving workout. I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Even beginners can do it! Review: I'm trying to get in shape now, and this is the third video I've tried. Kathy Smith is friendly and gives a lot of cues. Better camera angles than others I've seen, and each move is so thoroughly explained that I could do it. It's great!
Rating: Summary: Quick Aerobic/Fat Burning Workout Review: This tape is well worth it. Kathy was very motivating and repeatedly reminded you of the low or high impact moves. Kathy was excellent on cueing. Suprisingly there were no voice samples in this video as some of her other videos. There are 6 intervals which are four minutes long. In the intervals there is a two minute recovery period and a two minute high intensity period where you pick up the pace. It is really effective and worth it.
Rating: Summary: Good Intervals Review: Add this video to your collection for variance in your aerobix routines. I enjoy the Interval Training, sweating and pushing myself, the lower body workout inbetween, and trying to figure out how her other "helpers" keep a perpetual smile on their face without breathing hard. Easy moves to learn - I pair this video with the upperbody workout on TimeSaver - Lift Weights to Lose Weight. On opposite days I do the entire weight video.
Rating: Summary: A great workout, especially for beginners Review: This tape is easy to follow and the intervals seem to make the time go faster. Also Kathy is less annoying than in some of her other tapes. A
Rating: Summary: Short but sweet! Review: The aerobic portion of this video is fairly short (there are only six, 2 minute intervals) but amazingly, it works! At least if, like most women, you are looking to get rid of those "saddle-bags". I had been faithfully using Tae-bo (advanced) but noticed that my legs were actually getting bigger in the areas I was trying to get smaller. However, in using Kathy Smith's Peak Fat Burning video 2X per week for the past 4 weeks (w/o a change in diet), I have finally reduced those areas of my legs that needed it! This is the first video that I have found that actually worked in that way! The work out itself is not the most challenging, but it is easy to follow if you give yourself a day to learn the routines. This is because, as I have found in all of her other videos, she is not the best at telling the viewers the steps in advance. Regardless, she makes it fun and the minutes just fly by!
Rating: Summary: Don't really care for it Review: This tape is a bit too dancey for me. I was looking for something that was not like typical aerobics and but I was disappointed. I really do not enjoy doing it at all and don't feel like I've gotten a good workout. The tape that I would recommend is "The MTV Total Body Workout" No dancing here just a hard-core total body routine that will leave you KNOWING that you have worked out. Skip the Kathy Smith!
Rating: Summary: Great workout! Review: I was able to get a terrific cardio work-out with this tape, even though I am a regular excercizer. You can do all the moves at your own level, low or high, but it is fast paced. Kathy gives great instruction and there are no complex moves. The interval training makes time fly by and is great toning for the lower body. I would recommend this to anyone.
