Rating: Summary: Just Plain Weird Review: I've tried all sorts of yoga and this one takes the cake for weirdness! If you are athletic and like Rodney Yee's tapes, this one is not for you. Too New Age.
Rating: Summary: Not real yoga, but... Review: I have been doing yoga for about 2years. And after being sick for the first 3 months of pregnancy, I was looking forward to feeling well enough to try this dvd. My hips started really hurting about week 14...so thought this would be the perfect time to try this dvd. I was a bit disappointed that this wasn't similar to the Hatha I'm used to...but I thuroughly enjoyed the movements! Yes, it is very New Age-y! But I just let it set a mood and go with it. I find the endurance exercise fascinating and am curious if it will really help me during labor. I feel relaxed and energized after this workout.
Rating: Summary: I like this video alot! Review: This was my first try at Yoga. After reviewing other tapes this one (other than the chanting) is my favorite. I am glad that I bought it on DVD because the first 15 minutes or so is just the instructor talking. I like the fact that it focuses on your breathing and the relaxation at the end. The only thing I did not like about this tape is the chanting and I just breathe deeply through that part. I would suggest this to pretty much anyone that is just starting out with Yoga. I have also heard from several friends that they like "The Yoga Journals Prenatal Yoga". Good luck and happy pregnancy!
Rating: Summary: Very Relaxing DVD Review: I really like this DVD, though I didn't use it as much as I had planned. The instructor is a little off the wall at times, but the exercises are great and helpful.
Rating: Summary: This is the BEST!! Review: I tried over videos when I was pregnant, but this one is the best in my opinion. I LOVE it! It was so helpful. It strenghthened my body and mind. The relaxation at the end is second to none! Can't say enough great things about this video!
Rating: Summary: Great video Review: From reading other reviews, i guess you either love it or you hate it. I personally love it. I am a beginner and was not in shape when I got pregnant. I have suffered a lot of the fatigue, back and shoulder tension, leg cramps during sleep, and other aches and pains associated with pregnancy (this all began at around 5-6 months). Because of this discomfort, I'd rather lie on the couch than work out during pregnancy. I was missing out on that feeling of "isn't it wonderful to be pregnant". For me, this is the perfect video. I now do this a few times a week before my husband wakes up in the morning. It releases tension and brings me more in touch with the beauty of pregnancy. It relieves my pains and gives me a calm energy throughout the day. I find myself more able to breathe deeply, too, which has also been a problem because of the nasal congestion associated with pregnancy. I can honestly say that my I feel tons better and I owe it all to this video. It is a nice light workout, and the squats and other movements seem to be gentle but effective. I can't wait to try the post natal video after I have my baby.
Rating: Summary: Chanting...not for me. Review: I really wanted this DVD so that I could stretch and relax my back during my pregnancy. However, I could not get past the chanting. It is just not for me.
Rating: Summary: Very enjoyable and effective Review: This video may not be for everyone but I'm almost seven months pregnant and I love it. If you have had some exposure to Kundalini yoga then you won't be surprised that it is not particularly similar to other yoga videos you may have tried. Gurmukh incorporates (in a soothing voice) chanting and meditation as well as some specific cardio exercises. I suffered from severe nausea for the first two trimesters and was unable to exercise, so when I finally started to feel better and was able to begin this video, I found it enormously helpful in bringing my body back in shape a bit and in relaxing me and preparing my mind/body for birth.
Rating: Summary: feeling kind of silly, but much more flexible Review: When I started this workout, I felt very self-conscious and silly, especially when we started chanting. But I stuck with the exercise, and by the end I felt as though I had just been through a weekend Yoga retreat! It left me feeling refreshed and relaxed, and very confident. We pregnant women can use all the confidence we can get?
Rating: Summary: Great Prenatal Yoga Review: This yoga is not like hatha, nor should we expect to do what we did before being pregnant. I found this video very relaxing and a it was a very good work out. If you are not into the spiritual side of yoga and you just want some stretches then this is not for you. If you like the americanized version of yoga, find another video. But for those who are willing to let go of self, and expectations, those who are ready to go internal, for those who want to love themselves and nourish their unborn, this is definetly for you! I love this video. It's good even after having your baby.Namasté
