Summary: Don't Bother
Review: This was not a workout at all. I was so disappointed because I have truly enjoyed many Method workouts for years. It was all non-productive free body movements and chanting. I only ran the video once. I also bought Crunch Yoga Mama and Prenatal Yoga with Shiva Rea and totally loved it. Doing even half of these 2 videos was more worth while and enjoyable than running the entire method video. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Summary: Calming and Relaxing
Review: If you actually have the time to do this, it is great. I suffered from horrible migraines throughout my pregnancy and this seemed to help ease them. It was relaxing and soothing. Great for moms-to-be!

Summary: a waste of money
Review: I totally agree with the previous reviewer. The singing/chanting was totally distracting and bizarre. And I didn't think the stretching and exercises were all that great. I expected a better workout rather than free-form belly-dancing.

Summary: Chanting & Dancing?
Review: I've taken yoga lessons at a variety of venues in my area, I've read several books and learned a lot about the practice. Not that I'm an expert by any means, but I usually know what to expect. This was WAY out of the realm of what I expected and I was so disappointed. Her odd chanting was unnerving and the dancing around with my arms around my belly (not even a belly yet, as I'm only 5 months pregnant!) made me feel silly instead of relaxed or challenged. It was a big waste of money and I hope the bookstore will take it back when I return it.

Summary: Good video to add to your prenal workouts
Review: After having morning sickness for 3 1/2 months it was hard for me to exercise regularly. At 4 months pregnant I starting exercising with this video. It is not rigorous, and even if you are tired you will have enough energy to do this. However, I fast forward during the chating session, there is one at the beginning and one towards the end. I found myself to have more energy and I slept better after doing the exercises in this video. She also gives good breathing techniques and advice on how to handle pain. I definitely recommend this to those of you who want to exercise during pregnancy regardless of your fitness level.

Summary: Couldn't get past the chanting
Review: Okay, maybe I was just unaware of what Yoga was, but I watched five minutes, the chanting bugged the heck out of me and I never put the tape in the VCR again. I finally gave the tape to Goodwill.

Summary: Kooky
Review: I unfortunately left my curtains opened and was horrified to find the neighbors checking me out as I performed the exercises on this video. Definitely embarrassing considering some of the closed-eyed-dancing and the rocking-my-large-stomach swaying I was doing. The video is great to get your body moving, but I would not recommend it. Some of the exercises the teacher suggests doing go against my doctor's advice (the bridge). Plus, I just felt down right goofy doing some of the swaying around she suggested. I didn't find many traditional yoga poses in the practice at all. It was definitely a different experience that I'd just as soon not have again.

Summary: Too far out there for the non new ager
Review: The chanting was a bit much for me, as well as the visualization segments. They were too far out there for the average mom-to-be. In fact, my husband would laugh uncontrollably if he we to pass by the room during certain segments as they refer to a very primitive methods of birth. Definitely for the more new age/alternative life style group.

Summary: A wonderful approach to pre natal yoga
Review: I bought the The New Method Pre & Post Natal Yoga (2 Pack DVD Box Set), so I plan to continue this yoga workout as part of my before and after birth exercise plan.

I noticed some reviews for the Pre Natal DVD were on the negative side. These reviews are apparently from women who do not understand the purpose of yoga and do not want to explore a different approach to exercise. At least one reviewer recommended Leisa Hart's FitMama - Prenatal Workout instead and I completely disagree. Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa does an excellent job of leading pregnant women through a low-impact, yet aerobic, yoga workout on this DVD. Some "conservative" women may not be interested or afraid of the chanting or some positions like the squats (that mimic traditional child birthing positions), but it's very easy to opt out of listening to Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa's commentary and simply practice the poses, breathing, and mental exercises.

The downside to this DVD program is the length of the workout. The workout, including warm-up and warm-down, is about one hour long. With my low energy level during my first trimester and my work schedule, I find this workout to be most manageable during weekends. It's simple to memorize some of the exercises and practice them out of sequence in free time though.

I highly recommend this DVD to all pregnant women, including women who tend toward "conservative" beliefs in pregnancy, childbirth, and life in general.

Overall, I believe this DVD is superior to Leisa Hart's FitMama - Prenatal Workout. My low opinion of the Leisa Hart DVD can be seen on that product review list. Most notably, I found Leisa Hart's attempts to combine yoga and aerobics did not work (some positions placed unnecessary stress on parts of the body) and both long programs on the DVD lack adequate warm-ups and warm-downs.

Regarding The New Method Post Natal Yoga DVD, I have watched it and like Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa's approach to including women's babies in the workout. The moms and babies on the DVD were enjoying the interaction and the program is similar in quality and content to the Pre Natal DVD.

Summary: Ok but a little odd
Review: As a lover of yoga I quickly bought the first prenatal yoga video I saw the day I found out I was pregnant.
I just wasn't happy with this video. I find myself stopping to fast forward through the chanting and the "free dance" part of this video much too often to get a nice rythmn going.
The instuctor was much to "new age" for my taste and more over the top then I have ever encountered in previous yoga tapes and instructors.
The only part I felt was helpful was the leg strenghtening exercises, but not a good enough video for those that are more experienced and looking for a better workout.
