Rating: Summary: Scary Towel Lady Yoga Review: I'm going to have to give this DVD an F. I was looking for a yoga video that would provide a workout with some relaxing music, not some turban headed new age woman's opinion of what I should be doing while I was pregnant. I have used other yoga videos in the past, and I was so underwhelmed with this video that I only watched it once, and I'm sorry that I had my mother waste her money to purchase it. I would have returned it if I could, but the store would not allow it.
Rating: Summary: Interesting Review: I agree with many of the reviews. I don't do the chants and was glad that my husband missed this portion of the DVD! I find that fast forwarding the DVD past the chants is helpful. I enjoy the exercises and alternate this with a pilates DVD.
Rating: Summary: wacked out yoga, not a workout at all Review: me and my unborn cannot stand this video. The instructor is way out there and the chanting and weird music seems like a cult thing, not a yoga or workout thing, you would better off doign Leisa Hart's FITMAMA and get a little bit of both worlds, yoga and fitness, not some spiritual journey like this terrible tape.
Rating: Summary: Helpful and relaxing, though perhaps not for first trimester Review: I've taken one local yoga class and followed a couple of yoga tapes(not prenatal) before buying this video, but this was no fruitier than the class I took, except for the turban. Actually, I found the instructor, musicians, and Eastern-style setting rather soothing after the first chuckle.Looking at previous reviews, I agree: 1. If you're already nauseated or dizzy, the circling motions will make you feel worse... I did some retching the first time I went through the routines. Just slow down or skip exercises that don't feel comfortable. 2. Doing the chants and free dance may make you feel self-conscious. 3. I would alternate this video with other sorts of exercise. I think doing it every day would be boring and would not cover everything you need to strengthen your body for an easier childbirth. However, I will add: 1. Exercise (especially daily long walks)really helps keep "morning" sickness away. So, doing a routine like this in the moments when you're feeling better may be a good preventative for sick spells. 2. I feel pretty good after finishing the video. The stretching helps get rid of the cramped, bloated feeling of pregnancy, especially on days when bad weather keeps me from taking a walk. 3. I like the in-class format, which is better for a newbie than just presentation of isolated exercises that you have to assemble into your own routine. 4. The chants and free dancing have a practical purpose. They are good for controlling your breathing and relaxation. I do them and feel better for it. So I would recommend this video for women who are over the worst of their morning sickness.
Rating: Summary: This is an awesome product! Review: i am a little bit of a late bloomer ... for i am 24 weeks and this workout has not only helped me get in shape and prepared for the birth of my baby... but it has also built my confidence that i can deal with labor pain. at first i have to admit it ... i was skeptical... but it's really intense and pushes me to limits that i didn't even know that i had... i would recommend this yoga program to anyone! i can't wait for one of my good friends to get pregnant so that i can get it for her as well!
Rating: Summary: Best Prenatal Yoga Video yet. Review: I bought this DVD with the hopes of finding a prenatal workout that was both low-impact but also gave me the workout I needed while I am pregnant. This is the DVD. It doesn't do poses that could be harmful to me or my baby but gives a great workout that centers on me and my baby. It might be almost one hour long but the time flies. This DVD shows you how to become in-tune with your baby and body and just move. I would recommend this to every pregnant women out there.
Rating: Summary: Great Video!! Review: It is a great video. It helped me a lot to feel better during my pregnancy. I definitely recomend it to all moms to be.
Rating: Summary: Maybe not for first trimesters.... Review: I've done lots of pilates and dance pre-pregnancy, but this is my first experience with yoga. I thought it would be a good, stretching, low-intensity workout, and it would--if it didn't make me nauseous every time. I haven't had much m/s overall, except when I try to do these moves! Too much rocking and circling. The chanting I found a little annoying (maybe it's just her voice), so I fast forward through that. I think I'll try to pick it up again when I'm feeling more sea-worthy!
Rating: Summary: This loony tape isn't yoga! Review: There is chanting (the instructor sounds like a banshee), dancing and flapping of the arms but not much real yoga. If you want to do prenatal yoga, try Crunch's 'Yoga Mama' or Living Arts' 'Prenatal Yoga.' I purchased them after buying (and laughing at) 'The Method' tape.
Rating: Summary: If you like most every aspect of yoga, you'll love this! Review: I read some other reviews after I purchased this DVD. So I was a bit skeptical about it. But I have to say I really enjoy the entire workout. I didn't find it too difficult or too easy. I've done yoga on and off for a number of years and have always enjoyed a variety of types of yoga. The guru on this DVD uses some chanting that I hadn't done before, but I really find it quite soothing and relaxing. I would recommend this for any pregnant woman who would like a relaxing fairly simple exercise routine without the jarring workout of aerobics. It calms me and makes me feel stronger.
