Rating: Summary: Thank you, Rocki. Review: I purchased this DVD because of the positive reviews that I read, and I was not disappointed. During my first trimester I felt pretty wasted most of the time and therefore got no exercise at all. I'm so thankful that I decided to try this workout now that I'm feeling better. There are some tough poses and stretches but I know it will get easier with practice. I really love Rocki's new age approach to meditation. The spiritual and physical peace you can receive from this experience is extraordinary. The quiet, restful time in this DVD made it the very best choice for me.
Rating: Summary: Prenatal Yoga Review: I purchased this tape along with Shiva Rea's and I tried it only once in my fourth month of pregnancy. I was fit and regularly incorporated yoga into my fitness routine before pregnancy. This tape has, in my opinion, the potential to lead to injury in at least some women. Poses are not fluid, as they are in Rea's program, and many are sustained excessively long. Despite following several of her modifications, I still managed to irritate a number of ligaments while performing her routine. As a result of my experience, I decided not to use the tape again and have relied on the Shiva Rea tape for pre-natal yoga.
Rating: Summary: A very good workout for the pregnant gal Review: I really enjoy Rocki's Prenatal Yoga video. Although Rocki is a bit serious, the moves are explained extremely well with suggestions for variations for your body and comfort level. The room is full of an eclectic mix of women with different body shapes and of different ethnicites. One of them is always doing one of the variations, so you never feel like you're a loser who can't keep up with the "real" yogis. There is hardly any of the meditation that can accompany certain kinds of yoga practices, which actually works better for me. And you stretch, strengthen and tone every part of your body. All in all, it's one of my preferred prenatal yoga tapes.
Rating: Summary: Tuned in to myself and my baby Review: I really enjoy this video. I find it to be as challenging and relaxing as you make it. The more I do it, the more I'm able to deepen my stretching and my breathing. The poses are pretty easy to follow and the instructor is very soothing. I am 7 months pregnant and have been doing the video on and off for about 4 months now. There are 5 other pregnant ladies to follow, so you can adjust the poses as necessary to remain comfortable. I like the way I feel when I'm done - I feel tuned in to myself and my baby. This tape works for me!
Rating: Summary: My favorite workout! Review: I really like this DVD. I wasn't sure about doing yoga, since I haven't done it before, but I tried this and I'm glad I did. The instructor, Rocki, seems to really know what she's doing and gives different adjustments depending on how flexible you are and how far along you are. That's really saved me since I'm not very flexible. I like all the different poses and the breathing really helps - it especially helped me in the first trimester when I was nauseous all the time. I'm not sure how I can have more energy after working out, but I do with this DVD. I LOVE the meditation at the end. I think Rocki's great.
Rating: Summary: too yoga'ish, not for beginners who anyone new to yoga Review: i really was frustrated watching and trying to do this video. I have attempted yoga in the past, and sometimes really like it, but this video was too much for me, way off the beaten path. Rocki seemed nice, but doesn't appear to be a solid instructor, i liked my FitMama video alot more, and was happier with it. This video was overbearing and too much yoga'ish stuff for most people.
Rating: Summary: Very disappointing Review: I was very disappointed with Rocki's Prenatal Yoga video. Rocki is not charismatic in the least and the program is boring and not challenging. I am in my last trimester and have been doing a great prenatal yoga class at a yoga center once a week and wanted to supplement at home. I picked Rocki's video based on the good reviews it got and sadly found it very lacking. She spends so much time explaining positions that you barely do anything by the time the one hour video is over. Plus she has you doing things like leg lifts which are not even yoga moves. I strongly discourage anyone who is looking for anything remotely challenging from buying this video.
Rating: Summary: Pretty Good Tape Review: I wouldn't reccommend this tape for anyone who hasn't taken yoga before. She doesn't explain the movements or body placement well and moves through the poses a little too fast.I also found that one pose was explained wrong, wasn't effective or beneficial and actually hurt to do.Just like with anything else in life though...take what you can use and toss out the rest.A good alternate video.
Rating: Summary: Best tape I've found-gives me energy! Review: I'm 6 months pregnant with my second baby and I'm feeling great! I love this tape because for me, it does just as it says - it relaxes me and I feel like I have more energy when I'm done. I just pop the tape in when my 2 year old is down for a nap and I have time for myself and time to tune in to my new baby inside. I think Rocki the instructor really gets that. I have some other tapes, but this is the best one I've found.
Rating: Summary: Getting the baby connection Review: I'm in my third trimester and I feel great! I owe a lot to Rocki and her yoga. I feel really good after a workout and I really feel that I'm connecting with my baby. I like the different shapes and sized women on the DVD-makes me feel better about my ability (and the way I look right now). Best of all, I feel a connection with the new baby that I wouldn't have made time for every day without this workout. I would highly recommend this video.
