Summary: Denise Austin Pilates
Review: I am a fitness guru but I must say that Denise Austin showed me up! This video showed all of the Pilates stances and Denise Austin was great throughout the workout she talked just enough w/o being too wordy and she didn't jump around which I found extremely satisfying and that gave me a better workout! I noticed results of a leaner body in 1 week! This tape is definitely better than my Beth Shaw's Yogafit tape that everyone raves about. This workout put Beth Shaw's to shame!!!

Summary: great....
Review: this video is excellent for keeping in shape and getting leaner. You FEEL and are healthier! But WARNING this isn't for the beginners...you need to at least be and light shape and be some what in shape. It works mostly with your abs and trust me you'll feel it work. I danced for 5years and wanted to get into better shape and man it was kinda tuff for me but you feel worked and great afterwards. It's worth the money!!

Summary: WONDERFUL BEGINNER VIDEO
Review: If you are an absolute beginner like myself, then this video is for you. Denise explains all the poses and moves and proper form in an easy manner. There are sooooooo many Pilates based videos out there these days. And, while many claim to be for beginners they are definately NOT! Most go through instructions in such a speedy manner that it is virtually impossible for a novice to keep up. I have tried several other "so called beginner Pilates videos" and have become discouraged very quickly. Denise Austin's introduction to Pilates is exactly that. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to discover Pilates without having to commit tons of time and money for lessons. Once you master this video you may want to move on to more advanced videos or even classes at a studio (if you're lucky to have one in your town and have the time and money). I also recommend the book "The Pilates Body" by Brooke Siler.

Summary: Not as good as some
Review: What I didn't like about this video was that Austin does not offer as thorough of an explanation of how your body is supposed to move, relying on you to figure it out from watching. And she does not offer modified versions of the exercise, so I was afraid to try some of the more difficult pilates poses-- which other videos have given me. I definitely think Austin is a great fitness instructor, and man, do I wish I had her abs! But if you're a knucklehead when it comes to workouts, try the Pilates - Mat Based Workout for Beginners instead. The instructor of that one made the exercises more obvious to me, explaining exactly what my body should be doing, and offering a way for me to get started right away, complete the whole workout, get the benefits, but not feel like a clumsy oaf.

Summary: Improving Posture/ Improving Fitness
Review: When I became pregnant, I was petrified to work out. Now I am dealing with the consequences of my lack of exercise. Denise has always been one of my favorites and this is by far her best video. Many other videos deal only with aerobics and losing weight. However, if you are interested in having a strong body this one is for you. Denise shows you how to strengthen your "core" - abs/spine. While I still have some weight to lose, better posture has helped me to instantly look lighter. So, if you are mearly interested in loss of poundage, this may not be for you. However, if you are interested in real fitness, buy this one. A+++

Summary: Effective and Relaxing Workout
Review: Personally, I find this to be one of the best workout tapes that I own. While I am not an expert on yoga or Pilates techniques, I can say that doing the exercises on this tape make me feel better, relax me and work my abdominals in ways that other exercises do not.

I started using this video after I gave birth (I primarily use the first workout roughly 4 times per week), and I have noticed that my lower belly is very quickly returning to it's former flat self.

I do not find Denise Austin's mannerisms offensive at all. In fact, I find her a source of inspiration. I feel that she tries to encourage those who utilize her videos to give all they can in the effort to improve themselves - to find pride in what they are able to achieve instead of focusing on what they cannot accomplish.

I recommend this video to anyone who needs a good abdominal workout and can stand positive encouragement.

Summary: It's a "must-have" for your exercise video collection!
Review: Normally Denise Austin isn't one of my favorites. (I had seen her on TV and thought she was WAY to perky. However, this video was so good--and she has toned down her perkiness and put out a great video. The Mat 1 session is my favorite, although the yoga in session 2 is okay too. And I LOVE the additional workout featured in the bonus selection, too! Every time I do her workout I feel longer and leaner. I'm walking tall and feeling better. I highly recommend this to people looking for a good stretching and toning video to compliment their other higher impact aerobics videos.

Summary: Pilates
Review: I have never had a Denise Austin tape before so I purchased this one and I love it. I do it 5 to 6 days a week. If you are just starting out with exercising she tells you ways that you can do the exercises to fit your needs. The whole idea of this tape is do the exercises and make them work. I have had other exercise tapes and did not like them as much as I liked her tape. I am in the process of getting another tape of hers. She is just great...and the tape is also...

Summary: pretty darn good
Review: As a working mom with not a lot of extra time, I found the two 20 minute workouts challenging and effective. I look forward to doing this workout, and I am seeing results without spending hours at a gym. My toddler tries to do them right a long with Mmommy, and she enjoys "being a dancer"

Summary: A mat workout for all levels...an outstanding DVD!
Review: Wow! This is an awesome DVD. A 20-minute workout is a very attainable goal, and Denise Austin is very easy to follow. Her mellow tone makes this workout also great to do before bedtime. The workout requires a lot of concentration and is do-able for beginners or advanced; she demonstrates variations for beginners. I normally dread exercise programs, but I look forward to doing this one, almost daily. Tangible results in only two weeks!
