Rating: Summary: not as much variety as expected Review: Although I certainly don't consider myself advanced, I thought these workouts were a bit lacking for cardio. Also, since I've never been very coordinated, it took me a few times to get some of the moves down - this didn't bother me because too much instruction can get annoying once you've used a tape a few times. The abdominal, lower body & upper body are still good and I'll continue to use them. Her counterpart, Kathy, has good form and does all the moves as instructed, but her smile is too fake and continuous - it's pretty annoying in fact. Voight needs to get someone else on other videos.
Rating: Summary: Not exactly what promised Review: Although I really enjoy this DVD and have used it quite often, the packaging is misleading. You don't get a different workout for eveyday what you get is a different sequencing of the same circuits for any given day. This would have been a better product if the circuts were available from a main menu to put together your own workouts. When pressed for time this offers a decent thirty minute workout that includes a warm up and cool down.
Rating: Summary: A must have for any exercise video collection.... Review: I bought my first Karen Voight DVD about a year ago. She is very easy to follow and no your typical annoying video instructor. This video is the perfect mix that is recommended for a workout schedule - weights, cardio, and stretching. If you've ever tried the Self Magazine "Self Challenge", this is the perfect video to accompany. It's everything the challenge recommends on one DVD!! Thanks to Karen Voight (and Jennifer Kries), I have a completely new body that I hardly recognize and it only took 1 year (I was almost too far gone!!)

Rating: Summary: good work-out, but repetitions disappointing Review: I bought this DVD thinking that it would have a new routine for each day of the week and was completely disappointed that the same work-outs are repeated. I don't think this was mentioned in the video description or on the container, so that bothered me, too. But the work-outs are challenging and it still is a good alternate to my usual tapes. I just keep hoping that someone will produce the "perfect" work-out video, but this isn't it.
Rating: Summary: A Good Workout - But Not Karen's Best! Review: I bought this video with the impression that there were varying workouts. I was disappointed that there is really only 1 cardio section that is repeated throughout. Also the workouts are not for the more advanced exerciser...more beginner to intermediate. Nevertheless, as always, Karen Voight is a great instructor...she is articulate and precise. The workout is good for variation but, being more advanced, these workouts would not be fulfilling enough for everyday!
Rating: Summary: Changed my idea of exercise!! Review: I have recently gotten into Karen Voight's style of aerobics and I love her! Her personality is totally my style. She's real, feminine and athletic all at the same time. She teaches simple, very effective and efficient moves that really make a difference in your body. I used to be gung ho for the Firm series, and although I still like them- I really like Karen's moves a lot more. She doesn't stress your body out like The Firm seems too. Perhaps I was overdoing the Firm. I don't know, but I really have gotten into the more gentle yet efficient lengthening cardio moves that Karen uses. It has changed the way I look at exercising. My body has a more sleek look now that Karen is my choice instructor rather than the Firm :) AND- I look forward to exercising a lot more now too! If you eat healthy and you exercise with Karen most days, you will see a difference. This DVD is a great intro to Karen's stuff... If you find yourself wanting more cardio after her cardio, just pair it with a nice walk or run. It's perfect for me and may be for you too!
Rating: Summary: Workouts = 5; Scenery = 3.5 Review: I love Karen Voight. I think that she is one of the best intructors on the market - I actually like her a lot better than Denise Austin and Kathy Smith. Her workouts are easy to follow, you break a sweat, and she teaches you about your form (what your body should look and feel like when doing particular excercises). Karen's form is impecible and I also find her voice to be soothing, especially for the yoga workouts. In this particular video, Karen repeats many of the exercises that I learned in "Your Personal Best" with Elle McPherson, but she also adds some new excerices. With 7 different workouts at 30 minutes each, I can do these workouts before I go to work in the morning or when I get home in the evening, without feeling like working out is taking up all of my free time. I can also change up the workouts depending on how I feel or the time of day that I am able to exercise. The other thing that I really like about Karen's style is that she is very positive. She always seems to know when the reps are getting tough and is able to add that encouragement that I need to finish up. The only thing that I didn't like about this video was very minor - I didn't like the scenery. Karen is seen on the cover of this video on the beach, but the excercises are actually taped in a studio. It would have also been really nice if each workout had a different scene - ie in the studio or some place outdoors. I also didn't like "Kathy" the other woman working out on the tape. Her form is good, I just didn't care for her being in the background. These are super minor things, but things that I think would have made the video even better. Overall, I really enjoy spending 30 minutes of my morning with Karen and her workouts. Her workouts are easy enough for beginners and tough enough for more advanced folks.
Rating: Summary: Good for quick workout Review: I really enjoy working out with Karen Voight, but I was somewhat dissapointed with this video. Yes, each segment of each workout is repeated depending on what day and workout you choose, but the problem I had is there is no cooldown from the cardio to the strength training. You go from high intensity to lying on the floor doing abs in 5 seconds. I have to stop my DVD and bring my heart rate down before moving on. But this is a good video if you only have a limited time to squeeze exercise in. While you don't do more than 20 minutes of cardio, the routine is intense and really gets your heart rate up. I'll continue to use this video as a supplement when I have limited time, but I'll rely on Karen's longer workouts as my primary exercise.
