Rating: Summary: Good workout, but not yoga! Review: I'm a big Denise Austin fan, so I was prepared to love this video, but I've got to tell you--I'm pretty disappointed. This was a good workout, but there was very little yoga to do with it. While the postures and moves are based in yoga, it seems a stretch to call the workout itself yoga; there is no emphasis on breath, there is no emphasis on posture or correct form. It is definitely not a beginner workout. It is a good aerobic workout, and yes, all of my muscles feel it today, but if you're looking for a good YOGA workout that will yield the same results, try Crunch's Yoga videos--they're great.
Rating: Summary: Best Denise Austin workout I've experienced. Review: I've been a Denise A-holic for over ten years and have been enjoying her Fit and Lite program on Lifetime as well as her step-based workouts. This workout is great supplement to all of them. It combines strength, cardio-vascular and balance training in an incredibly time-efficient manner. This is also a great for people who think Denise is too hyper. She encourages you in a way that is not over the top. I totally worked up a sweat but felt very relaxed and limber at the end. It is important to point out that the moves take their cue from yoga postures so it is not a textbook yoga workout. But I love what she has developed from them and think other instructors should follow suit. Emphasis on Sun Salutation for breather between segments is fabulous touch. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Crikey! Review: I've never written a review before, but I feel very strongly about this workout video and think everyone should know about it. Why? 'Cause it sucks. I'm not joking. Denise Austin is like a mad woman in this video... she's all over the damned place and her voice is constantly grating. Yap-Yap-Yap... Yoga is supposed to be relaxing, but this woman is like a crazy dyslexic hurricane who's all over the place. I'll probably give it another shot... the workout itself looks cool, but it's just too damned fast.
Rating: Summary: Excellent introduction to yoga and tool to get in condition Review: If you enjoy Dennis Austin, then definately try this video. As a beginner to intermediate level exerciser, I found this video to be challenging and enjoyable. I appreciated Dennis's encouragement and marveled at the simplicity and effectiveness of the movements executed over time. I used this program as the foundation for my routine over a 10 month period and after a while, added other videos for variety, however, I always came back to this as a favorite. Thanks Dennis for helping me achieve my fitness goals beyond what I thought I could do! Now that summer is getting too humid for my outdoor routine, I'm upgrading to a DVD version. Rene King

Rating: Summary: Yoga with a twist! Review: If you love yoga and you need a challenge, this one is for you! It is definitely not for beginners, though. If you're new to yoga, you may want to try a beginners yoga video and get used to the poses as well as learn the poses by name because Denise really moves through them in this video! It is great workout and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves yoga and wants to break a sweat. You definitely feel results after your first work out. It's also great how the video is split into 3 parts for the days you are running low on time. One little note, the 3rd part requires a stability ball for best results. Happy exercising!! :)
Rating: Summary: New to yoga, but I like the workout! Review: It seems like the biggest complaint about this video is that it's not a good Yoga workout. Well, I know nothing about yoga, but I enjoye this workout anyway. The poses stretched me out, and after only five days, my flexibility has improved. Now, maybe it's not traditional yoga in any sense of the word, but I can tell a difference after a very short period.I'm incredibly out of shape, and uncoordinated is a very mild ajective when applied to me. The second time through the workout, I managed to figure out what she was doing in every exercise/pose series. I still lose my balance on the balancing stick poses sometimes, but I can reach past my toes for the first time in a few years. That's quantifiable change. The second big complaint for the Dense Austin workout videos is her voice. She does talk the whole time. My first thought on that was "How can she talk when I'm practically panting" (like I said, I'm out of shape). I don't really mind her voice. I do like the continual commentary because it frees me up to concentarate on balance. Now that I've been through the workout several times, I can just use her words as a guide instead of having to watch the screen constantly. Overall, I highly recommend this dvd to beginners. When I get more yoga experience, maybe I'll come back and recommend it to other levels.
Rating: Summary: CHALLENGING YOGA ART Review: LOSE WEIGHT, FEEL GREAT! THIS IS VERY CHALLENGING. I AM A YOGA AND AEROBICS PROFESSOR FOR THE LOCAL UNIVERSITY OUT HERE AND LET ME TELL YOU, THIS IS A GREAT WORKOUT. IF YOU LIKE YOGA, YOU'LL LIKE THE FAT-BLASTING YOGA. I ENJOYED DENISE AUSTIN'S YOGA TECHNIQUES AS WELL AS THE INTENSE WORKOUT. I CAN SEE THAT THOSE WHO ARE NOT VERY FAMILIAR WITH YOGA MAY NOT QUITE UNDERSTAND HOW TO IDENTIFY A YOGA WORKOUT, BUT THIS IS AN EFFECTIVE AND ACCURATE FORM OF YOGA. GOOD LUCK AND SEE FOR YOURSELF.
Rating: Summary: Not really yoga Review: Not being a Denise Austin fan, I should have known better than to purchase this DVD. However, I was looking for a yoga DVD immediately and it was the only one available. First, Denise has the most annoying voice in the world. Second, someone needs to show her the asanas in the sun salutation (OK, she included a few positions, but basically missed sun salutation). Third, she moved too quickly through some poses and didn't explain them well. Fourth, I REALLY wish she'd stop with the phoney motivation ("Come on, you can do it"). Please. . . And the thing that annoyed me most was you needed the Pilates ball thing for the the last sections of the DVD. I don't believe that was mentioned on the package. . . So basically, I'm not at all pleased with this DVD. Denise is not a yoga person, she is an aerobics person and it is obvious in this DVD. If you're looking for yoga instruction, don't purchase this. If you're an aerobics person who wants to jump on the yoga band wagon, OK, buy it. If you want yoga, try Rodney Yee, that's the direction I'm heading. . .
Rating: Summary: Want to feel good immediately? Review: Some people love Denise Austin and some, as I've read hate her. I am in the former camp...even being someone who loves traditional yoga. I have two of Denise's yoga tapes and I love them both. Out of all my yoga tapes (about 20 or so) I consistently go back to hers again and again. Why? Because I notice when I do hers I feel good immediately. Time-wise her workouts are very effective because she doesn't have long pauses in between poses. When I need a break...I simply take it on my own and carry on. I just feel wonderful after her work outs. Her talking doesn't bother me and to me, she just seems nice and very positive. I think she really does enjoy helping others improve their lives with fitness. Denise, if you are reading this...it would be great if you made more yoga videos! Thanks!
