Rating: Summary: Fun, fun, fun! Review: I just tried Cardio Salsa for the first time and loved it! Of course, I was completely out of step and looking ridiculous but I had fun. I like Giselle's instruction style and I'm sure I'll get the steps down after running through the workout a few more times. I can't wait to do it again!
Rating: Summary: Cardio Salsa Review: I love this workout. As a former workout junkie starting up again, this dvd had everything I was looking for. It's fast paced, fun and the time flies by. There are a few comments that the dance steps are hard to learn. Look at it this way, you won't get bored after a week. A key to learning cardio/dance routines is to listen to the instructors que and this instructor is great about that. So don't give up, hang in there, you'll get it. Some are upset that they didn't learn how to dance salsa. There is a fair amount of salsa steps. However, this is a workout session not a dance class. There are comments that the workout isn't challenging enough. Isn't that the point of working out? To get stronger and move on to something more challenging? This is a great intermediate video and as good a place to start as any. One reviewer stated that the women look like strippers. They don't look like any strippers I have seen. They look like neighbors, soccer moms, college students and co-workers. I have ten year old Jane Fonda tapes I can sell to those who don't like a challenge and are easily offended. The rest of us will be having fun.
Rating: Summary: Giselle-Cardio Salsa Review: I really like this DVD. The music is fun. I have to admit that after I got down the dance moves I added some more challenging move to not make it so easy. I would love for crunch to come out with a new and more advanced Salsa. And make this one a beginners DVD. But, I think Giselle does a great job!
Rating: Summary: Fun Dance Video Review: I take salsa lessons, do a lot of workout videos and am in pretty good shape. While this video isn't much of a cardio or dance challenge for me, it is fun and a good way to break up the monotony of aerobic workouts. The instructor has great energy and the music is enjoyable. The steps were not hard to learn, but I can see what the other reviewers meant--that she is not good at cuing throughout the combinations, but you can still pick up the steps without too much trouble. Overall, I thought it was a fun way to spice up working out.
Rating: Summary: barely a 3 Review: I think this video is over rated.
I enjoyed Giselle's personality but overall the moves were boring and as others said not much of a workout.
Rating: Summary: Crunch-Cardio Salsa Review: I thought this video was both fun and challenging. This workout is not for people who have 2 left feet. I thought the instructor was great and also the other people in the video. I have many crunch videos and one of my favorite things about the videos that I have is the drummer. He is awesome and makes the workouts fun and enjoyful.
Rating: Summary: For Light Days... Review: I usually do the Taebo Basic workout 4-5 times per week (now I've moved up to struggling through the Taebo II Advanced workout). I just ordered Crunch-Cardio Salsa to get a change of pace in my aerobic workout. It was somewhat disappointing. It did not get my heart rate up much, except during the short samba section. Also, having danced salsa for 2 years, many of the moves are nothing like what you will use on a salsa dance floor. Having danced and been very involved in music, I found the instruction to be a bit difficult to follow. The good thing is that I didn't pick up the entire routine immediately and it leaves me something to work up toward. This is definitely a video for days when you know you need to move but you still don't feel like doing anything. I feel though that in my 27 minute Taebo Basic workout, I got more of a workout than in this 40 minute cardio salsa video. I considered selling it to someone, but I think I'll keep it as a part of my collection since it'll bring a lighter workout into my exercise rotation. For workout junkies, I 0% recommend it. For those who don't like working out but need to get in shape, I 50% recommend it. For beginning exercisers, I 70% recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Disappointed.... Review: I worked out at a Crunch gym for 2 years and was excited to learn about this new video. unfortunately, I tried it today and was very disappointed. I've had several dance classes throughout college and high school and found this instructor extremely hard to follow. I agree with other posters that she "yells" the instructions at you and it's very hard to stay on task. She also doesn't take the combinations step by step as they do in most classes. She does one part of the combination, then another part, then expects you to link them up immediately. The music was great and the workout did go by fast...but I've been doing TaeBo workouts for the last 2 months and found TaeBo to be a much more vigorous workout than Cardio Salsa.
Rating: Summary: Workout? what workout? Review: I wouldn't consider this a workout--unless you call "marching in place" exercise. I was hoping to learn some dance moves while I burned calories, but I got neither. The instructor moves WAY too fast and doesn't spend enough time teaching the moves. And even if you can master the moves, the workout itself isn't strenuous enough to really get any results. I seriously doubt that any of the other "class members" got their rock-hard bodies from doing this workout. That brings me to my last complaint--the Crunch people. They look like strippers. What's wrong with using real people like Billy Blanks' Tae Bo videos?! It's much less intimidating. I'm thinking of keeping this to try and learn the moves in case I ever go to Miami(maybe I can play the DVD in slow motion?), but I won't be using it as an exercise video.
Rating: Summary: Awesome! Review: I'd have to say that this is one of the best cardio exercise videos that I have purchased. The music is awesome, and the instructor is great! The only thing that I found to be hard is the fact that you have to practice the steps before you actually do the exercises. But other than that, I will still rate it 5 stars because you will have a great work out. You will work up a sweat and if that's what you're looking for, this is the one to buy.
