Rating: Summary: I just returned this video Review: I buy a lot of exercise videos and consider myself pretty coordinated, but this video was rediculous. It's dance based and Giselle combines some moves that don't really flow together. I also had a hard time understanding Giselle as she does have a little accent. I didn't feel she described the moves very well. Perhaps if you have a strong dance background this video would be appropriate, otherwise pick up Fat Burning Pilates.
Rating: Summary: Not if you want to sweat Review: I enjoyed the video and the smooth moves. However it does not qualify as a workout- too easy and you barely break a sweat.
Rating: Summary: Cardio Salsa Review: I found the workout to be challangeing and fun. I am not very good at any form of dancing. This was a challenge and at the same time it was fun. Giselle has a contagious energy all through the workout, even when I was slowing down. My heart rate was up and I was having fun. I don't care if it doesn't compare to dance classes ect. I think it was fun and I had a blast. This may be the one workout that will not get boring day after day.
Rating: Summary: Giselle is great, Crunch isn't Review: I had the Zumba dance workout a year ago where she co-produced & taught VERY slowly for even the most uncordinated person. She teaches with a normal sweet voice with the patience of a monk. In this video, the workout seems stiff & abrasive along with the makeover they gave her (Crunch people must of told her to loose weight quick since she looks "anerexic" according to all the men who I showed this to). The way she teaches on this video is a lot faster, the enviroment is much stiffer (& louder with the music that she has to talk over) with none of the looseness/freedom of her Zumba DVDs. Her style, talent, enthusiasm & enjoyment is still great, but seems like someone was holding a stopwatch over her head. There never seemed time to catch your breath before moving on to something new to squeeze it down to the usual 30-40 min most fitness videos are. This is at least still better then Kathy Smith's Latin Dance Workout.
Rating: Summary: Time flies by; it' s so much fun Review: I have a huge collection of workout videos and this stays in my 'active' group. I hate to exercise but love to dance so this is the perfect video for me. I feel like I'm at party; the drummer is great and the time goes by so quickly. It puts me in great mood for the rest of the day. I highly recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Great Workout!!! Review: I have been trying to find an exercise regimen to follow for some time now. I never can keep into something long enough for lasting effects. I get so bored with the same old fitness tapes. This DVD is excellent! You will totally break a sweat learning these fun dance moves. The 40 minutes flew by like nothing. I couldnt believe I had just put in a 40 minute workout. It is so much fun and you can feel it all over your body! Some of the steps I couldnt do as fast as them without misstepping but all I did was keep swinging my hips and kept moving and still had fun and jumped back in where I could. I definately recommend this DVD to anyone who wants a fun effective workout.
Rating: Summary: Fun, Fast, and Energizing Review: I have not taken very many dance classes, but I really enjoyed this DVD. The time really flew by and I was getting a workout. I would not classify it as a hard one, but a good moderate workout. As far as the instructor not breaking the steps down enough, I did not think it was that hard to follow. I would rather have a little trouble the first few times I go through routine then be bored to death the next thousand because it is so slow. Overall I really enjoy this DVD and look forward to using it often.
Rating: Summary: After reading pessimistic reviews... Review: I heard that your heart-rate won't go up very high with this workout, but I'm a little out of shape (my job involves _lots_ of sitting) anyway, so I decided to give it a try. It was great. I would definitely recommend it for the novice.
Rating: Summary: Fun but disappointing Review: I just bought and tried this video for the first time today. I agree with a previous reviewer that intermediate and advanced level exercisers won't get a good cardio workout. I work out every day, and when the instructor suggested speaking to see how hard you were working, I checked my heart rate and had a hard time finding it! The steps were a little tricky, but I mostly got them after a couple tries; however, I have been doing Minna's emergency workout for a while before this, so I'd seen the moves before. Overall I thought it was fun, but more for cardio beginners. Maybe when I know the steps better I can kick it up somehow to get my heart rate up. I'm glad, though, that I only paid $6 for it.ADDITIONAL COMMENT: I just finished this workout for the second time. I definitely enjoyed it more this time and was able to put more into it to actually raise my heart rate. Still probably only give it 3 1/2 to 4 stars and still definitely a beginner workout, but very fun for light days.
Rating: Summary: Awesome way to get some exercise Review: I just got this video and would recommend it to anyone. I love the Latin music so it makes exercising fun! I originally bought it to learn more dance moves instead of work out. I had a good sweat but it didn't put me out of breath. I think it is a good way to get some exercise and not just watch t.v. ;) It will get you ready for other exercise routines that will be more intense. By the way, Giselle comes across really nice and not self-absorbed like other exercise trainers. Give it a try!
