Rating: Summary: Good leg workout if you like lunges... Review: I really like the arms/abs segment, and other reviewers are right, the leg workout is tough. The thing I don't like about the DVD is the repetition of the leg workout. It's nothing but lunges and I would have liked to break it up a little, maybe add a side kick, a little creativity. I know lunges are the best exercise, but it got boring for me.
Rating: Summary: Great Workoout!!! Review: This is the best DVD I have! Tamilee is NOT annoying she actually teaches you something and is supportive and reminds you to keep other muscles tightened to support what you're doing and get more out of your workout by keeping your core tight. I LOVE the fact that this isn't a "cheerleader" type video! I tried a "Firm" DVD...too slow and stupid! I'm sending it to someone I don't like! Can't go wrong with this one...I work out with weights in the gym regularly and I was sore (in a good way) after this workout!
Rating: Summary: One of the best workout dvds Review: This really is one of thes best workout dvd's ever. The routines are well designed to get you excellent results in very little time. Each routine is about 15 mins or less. I have been using this dvd for 3 years now. Sometimes I only have time for one routine (15 mins), but then I make time over the course of the week to catch up (3 routines=45 mins). I don't have time for aerobic exercise but manage to use this dvd 2-3 times a week. Even without aerobics, my endurance is so much better now that my muscles are toned. Once I began losing weight, I can really see the difference in how my body looks...more firm and sculpted and my clothes fit so much better. Tamilee's instruction is very good and I really like the minimal amount of equipment needed.
Rating: Summary: The hardest one I own! Review: Wow! I can't even finish the EASY section of the buns section. But this is not a bad thing, I love this workout. I feel energized at the end, not like I want to lay on my floor and die! This whole video is by far the most difficult to complete of all of my videos (I never do only one 15 minute section). Tamille really mixes it up. I have learned to tune out all of her talking. I highly recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Lots of lunges Review: I took a chance on this DVD because it appeared to be "based on scientific principles" and who would not want to try a groundbreaking DVD that promised fast results? It does appear that "scientific" means "boring" and I'm not being overly critical when I say this is "lunge obsessive." Just because something is scientific doesn't mean it will be interesting. If you have knee problems, the "I want those Buns" workout will be like a Knee Nightmare. The Abs section and Arms section are INTENSE. If you want to get in shape fast and are willing to just endure the very basic exercises, then this might work or you. I did this workout yesterday and I can tell you that it does work and you will probably be in pain the next day. When I workout I want to be challenged, but I don't want to torture myself. If you are looking for a workout to torture your mind, then this might be for you. Tamilee goes through routines and then repeats them without much variation. You end up feeling like you are doing the same exercises over and over again. I would have preferred less repetition and more variety in the exercises. What good is "scientific" if you are so bored you don't even want to do the exercises? I was quite hopeful when I started this workout because it seems Tamilee has matured into an instructor I could actually listen to. She seemed calm and collected and had the workout all under control. While she is a definitely a pro at what she does, this entire DVD just seemed uninteresting. If you like gym-style workouts this might be for you. I could see these workouts being a hit with men because of all the lunges, intense arm and ab workout and the "scientific" edge. ~(...)
Rating: Summary: Pretty Good Review: This video concentrates on abs, legs, and arms. Arms and Abs are a good workout, legs is good except one will grow out of it real quick. Add ankle weights to it, and it bumps it up a level. Overall, its good. Always been a fan of Tamilee. Her old Thighs of Steel is more challenging and longer.
Rating: Summary: Agree with not my cup of tea reviewer Review: I bought this DVD with high hopes and expectations after reading the mostly rave reviews. I have to say I was really disappointed. I have been doing all six workouts every day for 12 days and they leave me feeling like something is missing. I find the routines very dull and have to turn down the volume and listen to my own music. After doing this workout I have to do something energetic and find the Kathy Smith Kick boxing workout the best way of getting a great all over workout. This is probably a good toning workout for people just starting out on exercise routines. My copy of this DVD is scheduled for donation to my public library.
Rating: Summary: My favorite so far Review: I love this DVD. I have been using home work-out DVDs for a year now and this one is the most effective. Once you have done it ... you really feel like you have done something. Good Work Tamillee! I also like the format but I wish that you can pre-program it and also I wish I can skip the long intro.
Rating: Summary: A Happy Customer Review: I read all of the customer reviews and I decided to give this DVD a try. I just received it the other day and I was quite surprised that the workouts were intense and I liked that one exercise would just flow right into the next one. I like the 15 minute increments of exercises so you can just pick a different combo of exerises everyday if you want to stir things up a bit and so you won't get bored. I recommend this DVD if you want a simple and effective workout that will keep your interest.
Rating: Summary: Not my cup of Tea Review: This workout wasn't for me. It's too much like a typical gym-class workout for my taste, while I much prefer the style of the Pilates or "8 Minute Abs" dvd series. It's all a matter of subjective tastes, like how some people who are more prude prefer the "New Free Sex" dvd over the more outrageous "New Sex Now" dvd, but in that case I prefer the sexier one, while in this case with the workouts, I want the less energized version offered by Pilates.
