Summary: Great even for beginners!
Review: This is has to be one of the best workout videos available! I just started with kickboxing, and I found the workouts to fun and easy to learn. The customize your workout section of the video is great for those who do not want to jump right into the full workout. It provides a ten minute warm up, a shorter (25 minute) workout, and a cool down stretch. It is great at getting your heart rate up and the sweat pouring.

Summary: Not for beginners
Review: This is a tough workout. The basic workout is 45 minutes and the challenging workout is 50 minutes. If you're already in great shape, this will be a good workout for you. If you're a beginner or intermediate, forget it. This is something you need to work up to. Kathy starts at high speed and stays at that pace. Also, you have to learn the moves on the fly, which makes it that much more difficult. Final analysis, good workout but only for advanced students.

Summary: I like the DVD
Review: I sort of fell upon this video by Smith on accident while browsing the library shelves for a yoga fix. I like Tae Bo, and so I thought I would check this one out for a change of pace. (I like Billy Blanks a lot, but some days I just need to spend time with other people. Hee hee.) I enjoyed the video a lot, so I bought the DVD. I think the DVD is a lot better than the video. You can correct me if I am wrong, but the DVD has a lot of extra goodies on it that I do not recall seeing on the video. Some of the extra goodies include a 15-minute Tai Chi workout with the red-haired woman (that I like too) and a few basic martial arts lessons with Keith Cooke (also approximately 15 minutes). I do not find it as challenging as the Tae Bo "Get Ripped" workouts, but it still does its job extremely well and I enjoy it very much.

Summary: worked wonders for my hips
Review: I bought this video a cuople of months ago and love it. I had never tried kickboxing or Tae-bo but had read about it in fitness magazines. Kathy Smith alternates between punching and kicking sequences which start out slow and then get faster and more complicated. My favorite combination are the side kicks... they made my hips smaller than they had been in a LONG time. It took me about 2 viewings to get the combinations right, especially at the end but its overall not too complicated. The video is 45 minutes total in length which is perfect for my busy life. I would reccomend this video to anybody wanting a great calorie blasting workout.

Summary: Great for cardio and toning
Review: I bought the VHS of this when it first came out and I think I'm going to need to buy the DVD soon... My copy is starting to wear out. heh. I've found that this is a lot more motivating for me than typical aerobics workout videos (I'm SO not coordinated), plus you see results fairly quickly. After a few weeks your arms and legs are noticably stronger and toned. Keep going and it only gets better. I do suggest mixing this video with something like running, or at least a weight lifting or yoga video to mix it up. But as far as workout DVD's go, this one is by far my favorite!!

Summary: This workout is great
Review: I recieved this a few weeks ago and I love doing this workout. I wouldn't say it was easy the first time through, but I wasn't fumbling around trying to keep up neither. It took a few times to get the routine down. The kicks are pretty tough to do, but I believe that is my own fault because I'm not that flexible. I love the punches and little routines they also put together once they have taught you the moves.

I can't say enough about the music! I love the techno feel it has and keeps you pumped up throughout the whole routine. There is also a lady in the workout who is does the routines so well. I catch myself watching her more than I do Kathy Smith because he is so intense!!!

I would recommend this for anyone who doesn't mind a little or in my case, alot, of sweat. It can be pretty fast paced but its doable. I would also recommend a good leg stretch before starting since the kicks require some flexibility.

Summary: Way better than TaeBo!
Review: This kickboxing DVD is great! It has two workouts (45 minutes & 60 minutes). Taebo really annoys me and this tape is a great alternative. The workouts really get your heart pumping and are definately a challenge. I recommend this dvd for a good workout.

Summary: Holy Workout, Batman!
Review: Wow, this tape kicks my butt. Good warm up, kick-butt (literally) workout, kicking drills to help shape your butt and help you practice kicks, and a good cooldown. The 'expert' kickboxing guy with her (I forget his name) shows you in a side-by-side comparison when you're working out how to correctly kick so you don't hurt yourself, which is a plus. There are a few voice overs that I noticed, but you really don't need top-notch production here, it's a freakin workout tape, ya know? Five stars for a great cardio workout, This tape works!!

Summary: Not that good.
Review: It's not one of Kathy Smith best but it's fair to say that it helps a little, although I think this DVD is made in a medioquer way. It is missing fun factors. You can fall sleep.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Fabulous workout for the busy person
Review: You have to be at a regular workout pace to start this video. But once you get into it, its wonderful. I work a lot and have little time to myself, so I needed an workout that targeted a variety of areas. This did the trick. It is an upbeat program that is fun to even turn on your radio to instead of the sound.
