Rating: Summary: Average, at best Review: This video is not for the woman who has never done yoga before. It jumps from one thing to the next so quickly, I had to watch the tape about five times and memorize the routine so that I was not left behind. Once I hit my third trimester. The routine did nothing for me. I'm not sure if I recommend this video or not.
Rating: Summary: Very relaxing Review: This really is a great video for expecting woman. My doctor okayed it and I gave it a try for the first time last night. It really is relaxing and the stretches just seem to help work out some of the aches and pains. I was sick in bed for almost 2 months with morning sickness so it feels really good to get up and stretch! The woman in the video are each in a trimester and you follow the one whose trimester you fall in. The only problem I saw with it is that it takes an hour to complete but the video is broken into 3 segments so I plan on doing one 20 minute segment each day. The poses are simple and pretty easy to pick up one. I am one of the least coordinated people ever and I managed to get through this video just fine. You do need to have a chair and a "yoga band". Other than that you got everything you need. This is a great video and I am going to continue to use it thoughout my pregnancy and beyond!
Rating: Summary: Decent, relaxing prenatal workout Review: My main gripe with this video is the way narrator Shiva Rea pronounces the word "exhale." But after hearing her say "ex-ayle" so many times, I might be somewhat immune to it now. That said, there are some great stretching exercises here, complete with modifications for each trimester (although I really don't think all modifications are necessary if you're in decent shape. Yoga, to me, is just a great way to feel good in your growing body and connect with your baby.
Rating: Summary: great for relaxation Review: I bought this when I was 5 months pregnant, and now I am 8 months. The setting and the music are wonderfully relaxing. It is easy to adjust your level of exercise as well, as each trimester is represented by a different woman - the 3rd trimester focusing more on chair work rather than standing (let's face it, some days you need to sit on a chair more than others anyway!) They use official yoga props but I use a roll of paper towels instead of the block, and stockings instead of the strap. I confess I haven't actually completed the last segment with the guided relaxation. It is a long tape and I find myself running out of time. Since tomorrow is my last day of work I will start to do the whole tape til the baby is born! I did find that some of the poses don't match the voiceover exactly, and they breath really slow and I find myself inhaling when they are exhaling sometimes. All in all worth the purchase!
Rating: Summary: Not bad. Review: This video was not bad. I am new to yoga and found it a little corny, more so than Yoga Mama. Her voice was dubbed over the video, so her instructions don't always follow what is going on exactly. For example, she might be saying "exhale deeply" when the people on the video have already moved on to the next pose. I found that a little distracting. Otherwise, I did like that she showed modifications for each trimester or level of performance.
Rating: Summary: great workout for all three trimesters Review: This is the best prenatal yoga video I have found! The modifications for the different stages of pregnancy are very helpful, and the voice over and camera work are well done. I highly recommend this video!
Rating: Summary: Great for strengthening, stretching and relaxing Review: This is a great workout. The best benefit is that you don't feel like you are "working out." I am new to yoga but was practicing aerobics 2-3 times a week at the gym before our pregnancy. Since I was unable to make it to the gym due to fatigue, morning sickness and general inability to "jump around". This video is easy to follow and allowed me to adapt to my personal comfort level of exercise. I feel refreshed and relaxed after completing the video. I started doing 15-20 three times a week, 25-30 three times a week on my second week and then gradually complete the entire 50-minute tape. My only criticism is that the instructor over exaggerates many of the stretches which may be harmful for those new to exercise in general.
Rating: Summary: Didn't really care for this Review: I didn't care for this tape at all. The host wasn't very good and I didn't care for all of the "new age" stuff that was part of the tape. It didn't really keep my interest at all. I bought the Yoga Mama tape and I liked it a lot more.
Rating: Summary: Great video Review: I love this video. I do it almost daily throughout my entire pregnancy. I was able to adapt to the modifications as needed as my pregnancy progressed. Its easy to follow and I feel great and relaxed afterwards.
Rating: Summary: Really nice Review: This workous is really calming and wonderful. It is not too challenging, but gets you really stretched out and calm. The setting is beautiful and relaxing.
