Rating: Summary: Best Prenatal Video Review: It gives excellent direction and modifications for all stages of pregnancy. Allows for a pretty strenuous workout without over exertion. Visually pleasing and moves along at a good pace.
Rating: Summary: poor production, poor video, poor instructor Review: too many negative things to say about this so called relaxing yoga for pregnancy....everything about it was poorly doen, from the poor voiceover of an unconfident instructor to the poor demonstrations of modifications for various trimesters to poor execution of a worhtwhile exercise program. I truly cannot believe this video is liked by anyone, it was a joke to me to watch and attempt to follow. I will sell or trade it soon!
Rating: Summary: A good video Review: I really enjoyed this video. I'm fairly new to yoga and it's my first pregnancy. It is easy to follow, has modifications for all three trimesters and all the movements were gentle and flowed together at a nice pace. Afterwards I feel well stretched and relaxed. I recommend it!
Rating: Summary: This is good for you and your baby! Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this video! It is especially well done in that the instructor is easy to follow and modifies each move based on your stage of pregnancy. It was a relaxing way to keep fit through my entire pregnancy. If you have never done yoga before , you will still find this video easy to do.
Rating: Summary: Good throughout entire pregnancy Review: I tried this tape for the first time this morning. I've been doing yoga for years and was very impressed to see the moves tailored specifically for pregnancy in each trimester. The instructor gives first trimester instruction, and then there's a lady who shows 2nd trimester moves, and another who does 3rd. trimester moves. The moves were easy to follow. Lots of emphasis put on breathing, and lots of squat/pelvic opening moves that are supposed to help get us ready for labor.
Rating: Summary: Best Yoga tape for beginners Review: I absolutely loved this video. Not only did it get me through my pregnancy, but I used it after my son was born, too. It was great for keeping my back limber and all my muscles toned without being too strenuous. There are 3 different levels for each trimester of the pregnancy which makes it easy to work out without overdoing it.
Rating: Summary: ok. It depends... Review: The usefulness of this tape depends on what you're looking for. If you haven't been exercising a lot before pregnancy, this is likely suitable. You'll certainly get a good amount of toning and relaxing-stretching that will make you feel pretty good.Unlike some reviewers,I didn't mind the fact that the tape uses voice-over, but i found the instructor to be a little too "relaxed" for my taste --that is, she doesn't convey enough energy to get me going. I was a regular exerciser before I got pregnant (pilates and running) and so, I found this tape to not really be enough. If you have time to exercise 2 hours a day, you might combine it with a brisk walk or light run to get a more satisfying workout. But, if you're like me, an hour max is all you can spare. Actually, I haven't touched this tape since getting Leisa Hart's "FitMama". The latter includes yoga along with some fun salsa-dance aerobics, as well as kegels and stretching--it just feels like a more complete, efficient workout.
Rating: Summary: too yoga'ish for me, can't stand the instructor Review: i've done many videos with many instructors, and Shiva has to be one of the worst, very impersonal. This entire workout is too much, it may relax some, but it would make me want to nap instead of working out since i got so bored with her, i suggest something else, like MBC Yoga by Leisa Hart.
Rating: Summary: Gaiam/Living Arts Creates Another Solid Yoga Routine Review: I am a big fan of the Living Arts productions and Gaiam yoga tapes. This one is no exception. I bought this when I first became pregnant and its trimester by trimester format makes it easy to use throughout pregnancy. In fact, my prenatal yoga instructor even recommends this tape for home use. Because I am experienced with yoga, I did find the 3rd trimester modifications unnecessary at times, but it is good to know what mods to make if you are feeling fatigued that day. I highly recommend this tape as well as all the Gaiam yoga series tapes.
Rating: Summary: Enjoyable and Relaxing Review: I would recommend Prenatal Yoga with Shiva Rea. I use this tape once a week along with other more high intensity tapes. It is a nice tape to have in the mix. It is not the most challenging, but it is good for the times you want a more relaxing/soothing workout. That is why I do like the voiceover. It helps to create a relaxing mood. The workout is broken up into 3 sections approximately 15 minutes each, so you can do what you have time for. There are 3 woman who do the routine on tape, one for each trimester of pregnancy, so you always have someone to follow. The tape is run like a class, so you don't have to wait while someone explains the poses.
