Rating: Summary: A Complete Yoga Session From Rodney Yee Review: Rodney Yee has a careful, meditative style that is very relaxing. He weaves standing poses into the vinyasa flow (somewhat like Total Yoga - Fire) so that you really maintain heat and deep breathing while doing the deeper stretches. This session feels very natural, challenging and energizing you without exhausting any single part of the body. Because of Rodney's precision and calmer pace, you are able to challenge yourself in a particularly relaxing atmosphere. As Baron Baptiste says, our stress-relievers can be a little bit stressful, and Rodney does a good job of reducing the hyped-up atmosphere that can infiltrate some power yoga videos. Definitely recommended.
Rating: Summary: a decent yoga video Review: Rodney Yee is definitely easy on the eyes and this workout is a good one..It has some hard parts, but not TOO many..(The backbends are brutal)The tape covers all bases and i would reccomend it as part of a collection..
Rating: Summary: I LOVE THIS DVD! Review: This did it for me! I have been trying to like yoga and get into it for so long and I finally have figured it out! After I lift and have a "traditional" work out I supplement it with this DVD or preferably their "AM PM" one to get that stretching/muscle elongation thing going that my body craves after a good, hard workout. The deep breathing and focusing really lets me enjoy the fruits of my labor (my muscles) because I have to focus on them so much that it's like worshipping at the temple of ME! Yay! (How fun!) Soooo if you enjoy focusing on YOU for a finite amount of time daily I verrry verrry highly recommend checking out this series. I like to take my time to figure the DVD's out and enjoy getting better and more fluid with the movements every week! Enjoy your muscles!
Rating: Summary: Too Much Review: This dvd presented a workout that I found to be way over my head. I was done with the Yoga for Dummies and Beginning Yoga discs I'd been using for the past six months, but I wasn't ready for this one! It was too intense. It's not like with the "New Sex Now" dvd or even the "Goddess Worship" video, which anyone can use and follow along with easily. With this one you have to be almost a Yoga expert. I have found that using some Pilates workouts together with th 8 Minute Abs series has been the best for me so far.
Rating: Summary: A challenge, but definitely not good for beginners. Review: This one-hour routine is definitely a challenge. It is not for beginners. You must know the poses already and know how to modify if you can't do them like the instructor. I usually don't like Power Yoga, but my sister let me borrow it because she liked it. I like the flow speed and long holding of the poses, but Rodney Yee doesn't give enough of a pause between the sun salutations to witness. I was challenged by the back bends, and did a couple rounds, but I had to back off at the end. I was very warmed up and flexible and learned slight adjustments to put myself further into the pose. I was not real impressed with the DVD menu selection; you pretty much just run it from beginning to end. The scenery and music were lovely. I wouldn't use this DVD a lot, but it would be a nice one when you have a high energy level and you're ready for the challenge.
Rating: Summary: I love you Rodney! Review: This tape really cheers me up! I love watching Rodney Yee and his incredible physique (accentuated by skintight blue hot pants) go through this routine...What a great way to start the morning! The practice gos from basic,to intermediate,to some more advanced asanas..(backbends,warrior 3,standing splits)Rodny also explains everything in a very soothing voice, the music and scenery are great (great production value) and I believe it is a must have for any practioner..PS-The fact that Rodney explains the breathing (inhale, exhale) while he does the postures is a plus(yoga IS about focusing on the breath after all)Many tapes dont do this...If you buy one yoga tape buy this one,I am almost positive you will appreciate it..
Rating: Summary: Lame Review: This video shouldn't be called "Power Yoga" - there's nothing powerful, energizing, or strenous about it. I would recomend it to beginners and seniors, but not to anyone wanting a good workout.

Rating: Summary: Good speed, great instruction! Review: While other reviewers may have found this workout too fast, I like the speed of this DVD. It's similar to the speed of transitions in other power yoga videos and ashtanga yoga classes I've taken. I also think this is a great workout for new (but not brand new) yogis. I've been practicing yoga for about 6 months, and I find the sun salutations at the beginning make me break a sweat. During the remainder of the workout, I have time to get into each pose, focus on it for a few breaths, and then move to the next pose. I also LOVE the level of detail Rodney Yee gives for each pose. It's really easy to do poses wrong when you learn from a video, because there's no one to correct you, but Rodney Yee gives great instructions throughout the workout. He also consistently tells you when to breathe, which is key in yoga. The only reservation I have about this is the overly-formal instructor voice-over. While some people may like this format (so there's no instructor talking, chatting, and joking while demonstrating the poses), I find it disconcerting to have a disembodied voice tell me to "bring your sacrum to your pelvis." ... My what? I had to look up sacrum to figure out what he was talking about, and even after I did that I couldn't figure out how to bring it closer to my pelvis. A few less formal tips would be helpful. Also, I usually like instructors' chattiness, because it gives me the illusion that other people are doing yoga with me. I definitely miss that in this DVD. Overall, though, this is a great DVD, and a good workout for the near-beginner.
Rating: Summary: Good Workout, Beautiful Set, Nice Music Review: [...]this workout has common yoga poses , it's not so advanced but also not for beginners, of course if you have bad knees some of the postures won't be good for you but so in all types of workouts, this tape isn't dangerous for anyone except for people who don't listen to their bodies! This is a 65 minute power yoga routine which starts with few modified sun salutations and then full ones , it continues with standing poses(including hero 3) and vinyasas between them , and then some backbends, twists ,forward bends and corpse in the end.One problem only- there's no arm balances on this dvd like they mentioned on the cover! The quality is excellent and so is the music, so it's worth a try.
