Summary: A Nice workout but...
Review: Its a nice workout, but if you think you will learn any self-defense from Tae-bo, you'd be wrong. If you tried any Tae-bo moves in a real fight, you will get hurt. Its fun to do, but its claims of self-defense are extremely false.

Summary: Wonderful
Review: I had a baby four months ago and have found it very difficult to go to a gym so I thought I would give Tae-bo a try. I'm glad I did because I can get a great workout in the privacy of my own home plus it's great entertainment for my baby. I have increased my average weekly weight loss plus I have more energy for my child. I took about three weeks to work my way up to the advanced workout. By doing so I reduced the dreaded soar muscles after starting a new routine. Besides the great workout the motivation from the instructor gives my determination a daily boost. I would recommend this video set to friends of any fitness level.

Summary: good workout
Review: this tape is good. it gives you instructions as well as posture. Billy does do correct stance and i hear alot of you saying it is unhealthy. True to some who has bad knees or posture but to those of you who don't and still say it is bad, it is probably b/c you did Not watch the intructional tape. The tape focuses on the whole body, abs, hips, thighs, glutes, and the upper part of your body. It is not hard to follow just tough woekout (advanced one!) and for the particular one comment made by another viewer below, johhny dark, who gave one star , ck out his comments for everything else, and it is all NEGATIVE, for every book, movie, song this person had purchased so please don't be disencouraged folks. watch the tapes in order and you will succeed.

Summary: It's good, but poor picture quality for a DVD
Review: I have had the DVD now for two weeks. Having all four 'tapes' on one disc makes skipping to the bits you want to do quick and easy. I'm 40 and slightly overweight. I used to do martial arts a loooooong time ago, so the moves are familiar. As I haven't done any serious exercise for a long time I will slowly build up to the advanced tape, giving my body days off when I think it needs it. I think the probable cause for a lot of the reported injuries is people doing tooooooo much toooooo soon. Relax and enjoy. As to the picture quality it is only average, and has the same look as tape. Hence the three stars.

Summary: Excellent & Entertaining
Review: I heard about Tae-bo around the Christmas of '98. I didn't pay much attention to it until my P.E. teacher told us that would be our activity to warm up to every day. Every day that's what I looked forward to in school. It is a good exercise, and it's also very fun. This has to be the most enjoyable thing I've done in a long time. I'd recommend these tapes to just about anyone.

Summary: gets old quick
Review: I was so excited to start this workout, till I ran the first video. The stage set was so plain and boring and the music left much to be desired. The infomercial looked like a fun and exciting workout, but the actual tape was dry and down right uninspiring.

Summary: Take your time... you'll be fine
Review: This is a terrefic work-out! I've heard some people talk about the injuries and such....So definitely talk with your doctor. But if you take your time, masater the steps, and don't try to strain (remember it took Billy himself YEARS to put this together) then you should be fine.

Summary: Good workout, mediocre production
Review: I just got my Tae Bo tapes and have started doing the instructional workout and looked at the basic workout tape. The workout itself is fine. Billy Blanks gives good tips on how not to hurt yourself. The workout is very aerobic and fun too. What I don't like is that when Billy says left he means HIS left, your right. So I found I was constantly having to translate his verbal instructions. I found the setting to be odd too, like they made the video on the cheap and couldn't afford to rent a gym. Compare that to the many Kathy Smith workouts where production quality is high and Kathy always refers to YOUR right and left.

Summary: Read this please
Review: i'm 13 years old and my friend and i wanted to do a workout video for a project for school. we set our goals to be doing taebo 3-4 times a week. after one day of it, we got so incredibly bored that we've only done it 2 times in the past 3 months. the project is due in a month and we're thinking about just making up the times that we've actually done the tapes. people may say it's addicting, but it's no fun working out and feeling pain all over! but taebo is not all bad. after those 2 times of actually doing the advanced and basic tapes i already have a 4pac and my biceps are bigger when i flex or whatever those things r called. i kind of already was on my way to a 4pac before doing it anyways since i'm so skinny and i'm on the school cross country team, but i have to admit that it helped. it still is a better workout than making your bed or vaccumming, but it's not exactly the most amusing and exciting thing to do. i don't come home after school and race to the tv to start working out or anything like that. i think it helps people who are eager to lose weight better than it does to skinny people who are only somewhat interested.

Summary: Health Warning
Review: Please be careful this workout isn't for everyone. As a person in average to good shape I tried this workout to get ready for my upcoming wedding. This was the biggest mistake of my life. Although I did sweat alot and lose a few pounds the consequenses were not worth it. I sustained injuries to my lower back (bulging and herniated discs) that have been a constant source of pain. My neurosurgeon felt it was all brought on by these tapes. Be sure to check with your doctor before trying out any new workout. Good old walking is the best source of excercise and remember its free.
