Summary: A Beautiful Musical
Review: "Notre Dame de Paris" is continuing the French habit of turning Victor Hugo novels into world famous musicals. The music is haunting and powerful, a must for a sung-through musical, though some songs were obviously written for the dance exposition rather than anything which might be imparted in the lyrics. Any fan of modern dance and modern musicals will adore this musical. French with French, English, Spanish, and German subtitles.

Review: I bought a region 2 copy of this DVD and didn't find this one until after I bought an expensive region switcher for my laptop. But, I am sooo glad I found it. It is an AMAZING show. The making of special is also interesting to watch also. Don't worry, it contains English subtitles because it is completely in french. It's very interesting to watch this show after seeing the same thing here in Vegas performed in English. Notre Dame is wonderful........it will always be wonderful. The set rocks too!

Summary: saw the show in vegas
Review: I have yet to see this movie, but if it's anything like the performance I saw at the Paris hotel in Las Vegas, then it's totally amazing! I loved seeing the play in the theatre because the music is incredibly powerful, especially the opening song "age of the cathedrals." Being in that large room with total surround sound will give you goosebumps beyond reason! The characters give outstanding performances and you'll leave feeling totally inspired. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves musicals and broadway.

Summary: Beau Spectacle!
Review: I loved this musical-- or technically opera, I suppose. Anyway, the music is beautiful and the singing is absolutely amazing-- each singer seemed perfect for their part. The basic story is excellent of course, and it was even better for me after I read the book.
I take French in school, but I personally don't think that it's necessary to have any knowledge of the language to enjoy this show since it has English subtitles anyway.
You don't want to miss this enchanting "tale of lust and love so true!"

Review: I was pleasantly surprised to see that at least someone had the courage to stick to the original story and not make a kiddie-friendly, politically-correct fairy-tale out of it. The music is very dark, romantic, European, old-world, without a touch of giddy Broadway. The rendition of the characters is very faithful. Sure, I would like to see Esme a bit younger and more innocent, but Quasi is cast perfectly. I believe, Garou is the youngest actor ever cast in that role. I am not a huge fan of the movie versions with Lon Chaney and Charles Laughton, because both actors are in their forties. Garou is convincing as a bitter 20-year old with raging hormones. His voice is filled with anger and tenderness at once, a combination that liquifies your heart. Same goes for Daniel Lavoie, who plays Frollo. Lavoie is tall, slender, silver-haired. It's hard to believe that the heroine pays no attention to either one of those men. What can I say? I love the music, I love the cast. Review: the costumes and narration of this classic book made into an epic drama are fantastic, however there are some times that the play drags, making you wonder when the next BANG is going to come. The characters are fantastic, and the idea that Esmerelda is hung for a crime she did not commit is Tragic, as the book was meant to be. This play was true to the book, unlike the disney fairytake, and Garou did a fabulous job really playing the belle ringer of notre dame as a fearful creature with a tender heart. The genius way the light of a rose window is reflected on stage made the whole place come alive. I would definately love to own this movie.

Review: the first time i ever saw this rockin movie was in lebanon where i instantly fell in love with it. we bought it from there but i was totally bummed out because it didnt work here so i bought it again and spent another 50 bucks (totally worth it) and bought the right zone. omygod i watch this movie like everyday and never get sick of it. i still cry every time and my heart still melts at the crazy love story. its just so all around beautiful. definatly a charmer. this is my favorite movie of all time and now im getting my friend natalie in it too. i think shes really beginning to like it! :) NO DOUBT! BUY THIS MOVIE!

Review: the music was amazing, the dancing was one of the best I ever seen. The sing, I don't even have words to describe it. Probably the best singing I ever heard. Truly, a work of art!!(I don't even speak Fremch)
