Summary: Because of a 2-second bit, I deeply regret buying this
Review: I would have said, "If you and your family love Stomp, Riverdance, Barrage etc., you'll love this." However a two-second bit of supposed humor at the beginning (unfortunately during one of the otherwise funnier bits), I am sorry I bought this tape. During this bit, all but the feet of five of the dancers are hidden from view. At one point, we see a stream of water coming down between one pair of legs. Yes, it is meant to be urine and the dancer in question, splashes around in it ala Gene Kelly in
"Singin' in the Rain". My children and I loved Stomp, Barrage etc., but I refuse to show them this tape because of this one bit of crudeness. It is obvious the dancers are quite talented and the dances are quite innovative, but that one bit was totally uncalled for and unnecessary. I am deeply sorry that I bankrolled that disgusting bit of "humor" (?) by purchasing this tape. I rather wonder about the previous reviewers who let their children watch it. I am glad I at least previewed it before mine saw it.

Review: If you enjoy musicals, dance performances or just plain fun you should get this DVD! These 6 guys are terrific dancers and they have alot of fun doing what they do best! Lots of different flooring and staging keeps the action going. Very creative and enrgetic! I have the VHS because the DVD is not available yet, but I will buy the DVD because I know the tape will definitely be worn out. I have 2 boys who also enjoy alot of parts in the show. The "Tap Dogs" keep you laughing and wondering "how do they do that"? Very cool!

Summary: Live Its Is Toatally Breath Taking
Review: Ive seen them live in Norwich (England) and they were wonderful, its a little slow to start but with wonderful light humour and sound that have to be heard live to belive, a wonderful performance from 6 men who are all in their own way geourgus and extreamly talented, you will leave tired for them, i brought the dvd but it doesnt give you the real thing, if their in a town near you, go, their worth every penny to see, im not a dance person but oh how i wish now i was!!!!! Wonderful, breathtaking and loud...

Review: love this video. it's well-filmed, not too jumpy -- you actually get to observe the dancing closely for nice long stretches. feels like you're really in the audience, in a front row seat! my young son is just learning to tap, and loves this tape.
a previous reviewer mentioned a brief simulated pee near the beginning -- i found it to be clearly just pretend, and meant in fun (albeit earthy fun). i explained to my kids it was just pretend, and they were cool about it. i'm a bit of a prude, and would not hesitate to recommend this for the whole family.

Summary: These guys put Savion Glover to shame
Review: My wife and I rented this video several years ago and, after watching it, went right out and bought it. There is no other show like it. It is innovative, entertaining, and just plain fun. I grow tired of all the hype over Savion Glover. He just seems to be tapping with no rhyme or reason. These guys have awesome rhythm and ability to work together. No, its not traditional tap, but it is totally fresh and new. These guys dont dance to the music thats playing, they complete the music with the sound of their feet. Its nothing like Stomp or Bring in Da Noise. It's better. Now that I know its on DVD, I'll be buying the DVD and passing the video on to a friend to share what I feel is an truly amazing performance. And by the way, "new age" is a totally incorrect way to describe this as the previous reviewer stated.

Summary: For Non-traditional tap lovers only...
Review: Tap dogs is an amazing show, which featurs the best new-age tap there is. No doubt that this is the tap dance at new peaks! If you are, however, an old fashion tap dance lover, then this is not for you. Those who fell in love with tap through the Irish shows (Lord of the Dance, Riverdance etc.) would find this show to be of something incomplete, or missing. Finally: Amazing show for those who like shows for thier extravagance and guiness-records breakings, a "so-so" show for the Irish and Old fashion kind of tap lovers.

Summary: Can imagination get better than this?
Review: Tap Dogs is one of the "must see" videos if you love the art of progressive dance. The imagination that it takes to develope this kind of perfomance is amazing. I saw the Tap Dogs live and it was a treat for the eyes, and yes, you do want to see it again and again. If you LOVE "Lord Of The Dance", if you love the new and inventive styles of dance, if you LOVE "Cats", you will be amazed at the wonder of, "How did they do that? Who would have thought to do that?" Imagination at its best, even the kids will love this video!
