Summary: excellent and interesting
Review: This DVD was very enjoyable to watch. I appreciated the attention and energy invested into the set and lighting design - they enrich the art of dance and it was good to see them used powerfully. The dancing was very good. The dancer's quality of movement had a very ... clean, real and yet common feeling to it. They were clearly excellent both technically and communicatively...and i totally admire them, although I must admit I was not shocked by any "unique movers". (didn't detract from the watching experience at all)
I also enjoyed the music because it was very un-western. There are some really really really cool drum sequences! It seemed a challenging score to count and to choreograph. The choreography was good. I liked all the male solo/duo dance... it isn't often that guys really get to move the story along. the fight sequences with slides and throws were smashing! I have been trying to broaden my awareness of modern dance and this DVD is a great addition to my collection.
