Summary: Original Urban
Review: I agree... this dvd is a waste of money. I can't believe this is the Grand Master/ Maestro of U.S.A. GoJu. He looks drunk and his form is terrible at best( head weaving all over and bouncing around.) Not a good representation of the GoJu system.

Sorry Chojun Miyagi~ He knows not what he do!

Summary: Utter waste of money
Review: I am not entirely sure why I ordered this - perhaps some curiosity for a US 10th dan Goju Maestro (?). What a complete and utter waste of money. Urban appears to be on drugs as he 'demonstrates' and explains some Goju kata. If you are looking for something useful buy Higaonna's set of tapes. This is total garbage.

Summary: Maestro Urban is a legend.
Review: I can understand the disappointment of a few viewers who have viewed other more recent instructional tapes on Goju-Ryu. However; I considered the DVD as a memorabilia of one of the true great East Coast Martial Arts legends (OSU!) When I viewed the DVD I considered this great man as the Sensei who raised such fierce fighters like, Al Gotay, Louis Delgado, Frank Ruiz, Earl Monroe, Ray Fitzpatrick, Wilfredo Roldan, Verykian, Chaka Zulu, Sensei Rentas out of Hoboken, N.J., Kyoshi Cucciniello also from N.J. and the list goes on... He has further influenced such lumineries as Dr Moses Powell. That is what you have to look at when you see this man. Previous reviewers made disrespectful comments that he appeared drunk or on drugs. One of them mentions Chojun Miyagi. If Miyagi were around he would rebuke this person because it is so unbecoming to speak this way about any true Karateka. Peter Urban earned everyones respect, he paid the price through blood and sweat under Gogen Yamaguchi while in Japan! When Master Urban was in his twenties and thirties, given a confrontation their were very few that would be left standing in the sreet or in the Dojo. Master Urban speaks slowly in the video because if you notice his shirt, it says "La escala de Goju" (The Scool of Goju) it's in Italian, He raised a sensei in Italy in those days. He is from Downtown Jersey City, which is predominantly Italian and Puerto Rican. I know because I am originally from Jersey City. If you hear the ending of the tape he greets Italy and Puerto Rico. He speaks slow to teach these foriegn students proper pronunciation of the Katas. If you speak English slow enough everyone will understand what your trying to comunicate. Californians should know that! They are not professionally made videos and not instructional videos. I agree with the previous reviewer the Master Morio Higaona's videos would greater suit that need. Peter Urban is a great man that influenced me as a young man raised in Jersey City and today I am a law enforcement officer in California. I still practice and consider myself a student of USA Goju. OSU!
