Summary: Pat Schneider's Writing Alone is Brilliant
Review: I have read the companion book, Writing Alone and With Others, having studied with Pat Schneider in her writing workshops and read her previous books. She is one of those geniuses who is kind and nurturing to writers from the beginning of their writing journey to experienced professionals. I think that having a DVD available that shows Pat and her colleagues in action is an invaluable resource for individuals wanting to write, for teachers wanting to deeply nurture their students and encourage wonderful work that comes from feeling safe with your own voice. This DVD is a MUST-HAVE for all people interested in writing and leading writing workshops to students of all ages. The film made by Florentine Films (they are Academy Award nominated filmmakers) about Pat's work with the low-income women, Tell Me Something I Can't Forget is deeply moving, inspiring, and beautifully done (it was on PBS) and made me cry and watch it over again. I have recommended and given this DVD to many friends. Please know that this review is coming from a many times published writer who was nurtured early on by Pat Schneider's skill....and now you can experience it as well. If you purchase this DVD and the companion book, I know that you will be grateful.

Summary: This is a Wonderful DVD!
Review: The film, Tell Me Something I Can't Forget,
is an intelligent portrait of a remarkable group of writers. The
virtual workshop is set up with some great exercises. I particularly
liked the ones called "Cut and Paste" and "Fairy Tales." I highly
recommend this DVD.
