Review: Fantastic DVD. Very Professional and interesting. Scenery is breathtaking and some very interesting insight into the lives of those who make the train system possible.

I was also impressed by the demanding qualifications that school aged children must go through if they are desiring a job on the train. They actually compete for the jobs so passengers actually get the "cream of the crop" when it comes to hospitality and knowlege of the state.

The history of the floods and earthquakes wrecking havoc on the rail system was thorough.

Rent it.. You won't be sorry.

Review: I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Great Alaska Train Adventure. First off are the trains, those beautiful blue and gold diesel locomotives pulling well-appointed passenger cars through spectacularly beautiful scenery -- mountains, rivers, sub-arctic tundra, trestles. Next is the people you "meet" -- conductors, guides, natives, residents, pilots, shopkeepers, fishermen, dog-sled owners, etc... And both my kids enjoyed watching too. The fascination of trains is ageless.

I think this movie will appeal to a wide variety of people -- lovers of travel films, lovers of nature films, people planning a vacation to Alaska, and model railroaders. Recommended.
